He busted a hoke in the side of my house with his excavation equipment and tried to play it off like it never happened. Ended up having the main contractor repair the damage. Hes a jerk and will ghost you and block you if he doesnt want to do work for you any more. Stay far away 👎👎👎

I have been scammed - to date no reply from Scott McReynolds.
Description of Work: I had used Scott McReynolds for several years to keep my A/C running and never had any problems so in July when the old system died he was my choice for replacing the complete system. My home had a heat pump system and when we spoke I explained that I wanted a new complete replacement system with better efficiency. Scott assured me that he was installing a heat pump system with 15 seer efficiency rating. I had no reason to doubt his word. The receipt for services read "Install 3 Ton Payne A/C system and the serial numbers of the indoor and out door unit". I paid Scott the $2700 via check. Comes the cold snap on December 28th and my heat does not work. I called Scott to come out and he came out and said that I needed a new thermostat and he would install it on Friday afternoon. Friday afternoon comes and goes, no Scott . I called on Saturday and no response but figured it was New Years Eve and that I would check with him on Monday. I did send him an email message and text. On Monday morning I reached him and he claimed that his 5 year old daughter broke her arm on Friday and I felt bad. He said he had to take her to the doctor on Monday morning but would be out to change the thermostat in the afternoon - he was again a no-show and not taking my calls. Another day of his phone going to voicemail and no replies to email or text so I called another company thinking that I needed a new thermostat. Imagine my shock when I found out that the system Scott installed in July DID NOT have a heat pump. It was a much cheaper, straight cool system with only an emergency heat strip. And it was a 13 seer unit not 15seer. I paid a $69.00 service fee for that bit of information. The service tech then looked at my receipt and felt that I really would not have much legal recourse against Scott because of the briefness of the description. It included the serial numbers of the units placed so basically it is my word against his that I wanted a heat pump unit.

It was a Friday evening in late July. My house got very hot and the thermostat had no temperature reading, so I realized the A/C had stopped running. I called & reached Scott McReynolds, and he came over about an hour later and had the A/C running within 15 minutes. I paid him and he left. About twenty minutes later, I noticed it was getting hot again and checked the temperature reading. Sure enough, it was blank again and the A/C was not cooling. I called McReynolds Air and got a recording, so I left a message telling him my A/C was off again. By this time it was around 9 pm, so I figured I would hear back from him the next morning. After a night of sweating and tossing and turning, I began calling McReynolds Air, and repeatedly got voicemail. I decided to call from my cell phone (different phone number), and lo and behold, Scott McReynolds picked up immediately. I told him that my A/C stopped working right after he left the night before. He apologized and said that he had a "big install" to do, but that he would stop by around 4pm. He never came or called. I tried calling him several times, but had to then call A-Best Air & Heat to come and do the job. I am very disappointed, and would never use McReynolds Air again. I think Scott McReynolds is interested in doing the big money jobs, and only takes small jobs on the side. Therefore, he doesn't care about the little guy. No integrity.
Description of Work: Scott McReynolds of McReynolds Air performed a service call and got my A/C unit running for about half an hour.

When questions came up about details he didn't cover, Scott had prompt & competent answers. We were down to the wire & I was clear that I wanted to work with him. We just needed to get facts about the system's qualifications for the federal tax credits and also make the deadline for the York $1700 rebate that 10/1 would be reduced to $1000. Bottom Line: For those few days before the deadline Scott didn't return calls & we missed that deadline. Tried to pursue other options with a qualifying system and Scott did not get back to me when he said and I was compelled to pursue other options, despite me telling him I wanted to give him my business (I have every reason to believe Scott is technically competent and prices fairly). Scott told me his primary business is commercial & rental units and he does some residential. My guess is that when it comes to selling a residential system, unless it's "cut & dried" it's just beyond what he can handle. And this situation required some familiarity with the rebates & the tax credit qualifications (thousands of dollars in total). So while I could forgive it just being a bad fit, I can't forgive him never getting back to me as promised. Maybe if your needs are commercial or you own rental units Scott is the way to go, but my experience was a huge disappointment. I ended up buying an $8500 system from Durham AC that cost $5100 after rebates & credits. I'm certain Scott could not have made that work like RJ at Durham.
Description of Work: Scott was 1 of a number of bids I got for a whole new a/c system, based on + reviews. I liked Scott and initially he had the best price for the same systems. And he seemed to know his stuff.

On the evening of July 23, we realized our AC was not working properly, the unit was iced up and it was hot as Hades in the house. We tried letting the ice thaw and then restarting it, but it just happened again. I went on Angie's List first thing in the morning and tried calling an AC repair place that had a lot of "A" ratings, but I just kept getting voice mail. It was early, about 7:30 am, but I tried calling McReynolds Air since they weren't far from me in Palm Bay. Lo and behold, Scott McReynolds picked up the phone! I explained the problem, and he said he'd come by in about an hour...music to my ears! I asked if it would be considered an "emergency service call" (i.e., big $$$) and he said no. Then I asked if he would charge us to come out and give an estimate, and again he said no...so far, so good! He arrived when he said he would, and right off the bat he showed us a screen beneath our inside air handler that had a filthy filter...we had been vigilant about changing the wall filter, which never seemed very dirty, and had never realized there even was another one! He then checked out the outdoor unit and diagnosed the problem (the evaporator coils needed to come out and be cleaned). He had used all of his chemicals the previous day, and told us he would come back between 2-3pm as he had two previously-scheduled appointments and also to get the chemicals. Because we had cleaned the dirty filter, at this point the air was running and he said it should be fine until the afternoon, which it was. We returned to our house at 1:50 pm and Scott was already there waiting for us. He spent about two hours thoroughly doing the job, and we were chilling in the AC in no time. He did a great job, and we'll definately be calling him next time we have any AC issues!
Description of Work: Scott McReynolds answered his phone at 7:30 am, was at our house an hour later WITHOUT charge, showed us a screen beneath our inside air handler that had a filthy filter, and pulled and cleaned the evaporator coils.

Scott the a/c tech came out on a Sunday to get our old A/C unit working again. He thoroughly investigated the unit and was able to make a temporary fix to keep it running until he could replace the condenser and evaporator. His assessment of the units was fair and accurate, diagnosing a leek in the evaporator and corrosion in the condenser which would be a problem in the next year or so. He made an appointment to come and do the work, which he kept, arriving on time and ready for work. The job was done effectively, ahead of his estimated time and at a very good price. Scott is an excellent, honest worker, polite with a sense of humour and fair play. His final bill did not include the Sunday call-out when he changed a contractor and added freon to make the unit run. He left his work-site cleaner than when he started and that was in the garage!
Description of Work: Fixed broken A/C unit. He came out on a Sunday to diagnose the problem and do a temporary fix. He investigated very thoroughly and correctly evaluated the our A/C unit. We asked him to replace both condenser and evaporator units (2.5 ton) with the most cost effective options, which he did.
