He said he would like the money up front and claimed that someone stole his identity out of his truck so I made the check out to his mother per request. He has done good work for me before so I didn't have any problem giving him the money up front so this whole situation is a bit shocking to me. The job is currently 1/3 of the way done and the service provider disappeared since then. I have left messages and he has not returned my calls.

Very impressed. They dug up the old sod and a layer of dirt underneath. The dirt was compacted which is why the old sod wouldn't grow. The first time they were going to do it, Billy didn't like the look of the sod at the sod distributor, so he called to reschedule. I appreciate the attention to quality. He also recommended something more shade tolerant than St Augustine (I just don't remember the name ). The following week, he got here late due to his previous job running over, which is why I didn't rate him excellent on punctuality (a call to let us know he'd be late would have been nice). He had a couple of people with him and they worked hard and quickly, no goofing off. They were respectful and polite. They took great care in preparing the ground by digging up old roots and dirt, replacing it with fresh topsoil, and making sure it was level. They tapered it in nicely with our existing grass, since we only needed a portion of the grass replaced. It has been 6 weeks and the new grass is doing great. Sounds simple but the last two times we tried to replace it, it died within a month. We are doing the same care we did the last two times, so I think it boils down to prepping the soil correctly and using the right grass. I would deifinately use their services again. Usually you pay top dollar for high quality but Billy is very reasonably priced and definitely beat the competition on quality.
