they first talked us into a $180.00 cleaning kit for the leather, a real joke, after about 6 months we see a stain on a section, they gave us every reason as to why this stain wasn't covered even with the kit we bought after numerous calls to corporate they finally agreed to replace the leather which had to be ordered from GUESS WHERE-CHINA after 3 months it was replaced an it was a lousy job. Then the power supply that drives the motors for electric foot rests died and or course they gave me all the reasons why it was not covered under the warranty, after more calls to corporate they agreed to replace it, but guess what 3 or 4 weeks later that same part died again now the electric foot adjustment does not work so I just ordered one from ebay..So this unit has cost us twenty two hundred dollars plus 3 months of waiting for a piece of leather replacement, plus now a second power supply for the electric foot rests and we have this unit since 11 Jan 2017 we will not buy a piece of kanes furniture if there is no one left to buy from. I'll make my own furniture from wooden pallets. Read your warranty as they know how long certain items will last, the 5 years they tell you about is ridiculous. No such thing. Save your money.

After having the sofa for approximately 18 months spots have developed where the coloring has worn off. Instead of looking 18 months old the sofa looks five years old. It is my belief that the dye or staining job was done poorly and is now wearing off prematurely. The company representing the special warranty refuses to address the issue and a representative from Kane's also is unwilling to "make us whole" by doing anything about the issue. So, "buyer beware" when you enter this Kane's store. Double check with your friends and neighbors before purchase as the promises you receive from the salespeople are hollow.
Description of Work: My wife and I purchased a leather sofa with the idea that leather was more durable than fabric.

MANAGER SENT REPAIRMAN BACK. HE TOOK PICTURES OF ME IN THE CHAIRS, USED A RULER TO MEASURE BETWEEN CHAIRS - I TOLD HIM TO SIT IN THE CHAIRS TO REALLY FEEL HOW CROOKED THEY WERE. I TOLD HIM TO SIT IN RECLINER BECAUSE WHEN YOU PUT IT IN THE RECLINE POSITION YOU FEEL WOOD OR STEEL IN YOUR BACK. HE SAT AND AGREED WITH ME. HE LEFT. I CALLED KANES A FEW DAYS LATER AND THE MANAGER SAID THERE IS NOTHING STRUCTURALLY WRONG WITH THE CHAIRS AND THAT HE WOULD DO NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE SITUATION. I LIVE WITH MY SON, MY COMPANION AND HIS BROTHER. THEY WILL ALL ATTEST THE THE ABOVE FACTS. I CALLED CORPORATE, A MS. BALL, AND SAID I WAS THRU WITH BEGGING THEM TO HONOR THEIR WARRANTY, WHICH IS A LIFETIME WARRANTY, AND WAS GOING TO REPORT MATTER TO BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. I DID SO ON AUGUST 22,2012. I WAS TOLD I COULD DEMAND FROM KANE'S DATES OF REPAIRMAN'S VISITS AS WELL AS MY COMPLAINT CALLS. THEIR RESPONSE WAS THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FURNITURE. I AM NOT A LITIGIOUS PERSON. ALL I WANT IS MY MONEY BACK AND AS FAR AS THE MANAGER JOHN AND THE REPAIRMAN I BELIEVE THEY ARE IN CAHOOTS AND DO NOT WANT TO CAUSE KANE CORPORATE ANY PROBLEMS FOR FEAR OF POSSIBLY LOSING THEIR JOBS. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN KANES BECAUSE OF THEIR TREATMENT OF ME AND WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER THING FROM THEM.WHEN THEY ORIGINALLY OPENED I PURCHASED TWO ETEGIERS FROM THEM FOR APPROXIMATELY 1,800.00 PLUS AN $80.00 DOLPHIN FIGURE AND ALSO BOUGHT A RUG FOR THE NEW SECTIONAL I PURCHASED WHICH IS SUBJECT OF THIS COMPLAINT.. SHAME ON KANE'S - CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OR DIRECT ME TO ANOTHER AGENCY WHO HANDLES THIS TYPE OF FRAUD. THEY DELAYED MY REPORT TO BETTER BUSINESS ETC. BY TELLING ME THEY WOULD HONOR THEIR WARRANTY. I SEE NOW IT WAS JUST A DELAYING TACTIC SO THEY WOULD NOT HAVE TO FIX THEIR MISTAKE .I AM 71 YEARS OLD AND DO NOT DO CALISTHENICS ON THE SECTIONAL =NO CHILDREN HERE OR GRANDCHILDREN.
Description of Work: ON APPROX. 8/7 KANE'S FURNITURE REPAIRMAN CAME TO MY HOME. HE HAD BEEN THERE NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE. PROBLEM STARTED IN APPROX. 4 OR 5/2011. BOUGHT A 7 PIECE SECTIONAL FROM KANES FURNITURE IN MELBOURNE, FLA. THEY DELIVERED THE FURNITURE ON 11/10/2010. WITHIN MONTHS FURNITURE IN TWO PLACES BEGAN TO SINKTHEY CAME AND LOOKED AT IT, OPENED THE BACK ON ONE PIECE OF SECTIONAL. TOOK OUT WHAT LOOKED LIKE THICK STRAW. I WASN'T WATCHING HIM TO SEE IF HE PUT ANYTHING BACK IN. CHAIR PIECE WAS STILL SINKING AS WELL AS PIECE NEXT TO IT. I CALLED AGAIN. I DID NOT PUT DOWN DATES BECAUSE AT THIS TIME I WAS ASSISTING A FRIEND WHO WAS DYING AND CONSTANTLY ON CALL AND MYSELF HAD JUST FINISHED CHEMO. I TRUSTED KANE'S WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE SECTIONAL. THE MANAGER AT KANE'S STORE SAID HE SAW NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SECTIONAL FROM HIS REPAIRMAN'S REPORT. I CALLED CORPORATE. THEY SENT REPAIRMAN BACK. HE SAID SECTIONAL NEEDED NEW CORES FOR ONES THAT SUNK. WOULD TAKE 4 MONTHS. FOUR MONTHS CAME AND WENT. I CALLED KANE'S STORE - THEY SAID WRONG CORES WERE SENT - HAD TO WAIT ANOTHER 4 OR MORE MONTHS. FINALLY CAME IN LATE JULY OR AUGUST 2012. HE PUT CORES IN TWO SECTIONS AND ALSO ONE OF THE RECLINERS WHICH WAS ALSO SINKING. AFTER THAT THE SECTIONAL WAS MUCH WORSE FROM WHAT HE DID. I COMPLAINED.
