In store I asked about 3 rooms and was constantly told that it would only be so much a square foot and when I asked were there any other charges or fees was reassured that that was it. When I call back and tell them it is only 1 room ( the larger of the 3) then there is a minimum installation charge. Yes I understand you need to cover costs to come out and pay your guys, but this does need to be covered in your initial quote. Very misleading. At least I found out now than if I was having my own home re-carpeted.

Customer service was excellent. I was not looking for the highest grade of carpeting, nor the cheapest, but something in the mid-cost range that would perform well. Jim assisted me in finding a good grade of carpeting to suit our needs without overspending. He calculated the amount of carpeting needed for each room, allowing for best placement of seams and correct direction of the nap. He determined the least amount of carpeting needed, if we wanted to keep the cost down by using a single color for both rooms. We decided to go with two different colors and have the remnants bound into a new runner for our hallway; the runner will match the carpeting in the nearest room, and I have never found a runner in the size I needed anyway (30 inches X 10 feet), so I'm happy that problem is now solved as well. The installers were great. They were prompt, pleasant, professional, and hardworking. They quickly moved all the furniture, and did it with care. The work was completed in just over 3 hours, as promised. The moving of the furniture back into the bedrooms was even quicker, and just as careful. They made sure they replaced everything in the correct location. The next morning, as I was finishing up moving other items back into the rooms, I noticed a small spot of glue right in the middle of one room; it was too large to just cut it out without leaving a noticeable hole, so I called the scheduler, and he contacted the installers. They called me back right away and asked if they could come right out and look at it--they had just finished a job early. Twenty minutes later they arrived and determined it was latex glue, just a manufacturing defect. Harvey was able to carefully separate the fibers and tease out the glue by hand, without cutting anything or using any solvents. It only took five minutes, but I really appreciated the extra patience and care. Some installers might have just taken the easy way and cut it out, leaving a divot. I didn't expect the work to go without any glitches at all--few if any home projects go perfectly!--but I expected the glitches to be dealt with professionally, and I was not disappointed. Customer service is really why I chose K&Y Carpet in the first place: they are not the cheapest in town, but I wanted the work done well, and if anything went wrong I wanted a company that would make it right, without a big hassle. (The company I went with in the past was cheaper, but did not live up to their promises.) It seems there's really no convenient time to examine a piece of carpeting for defects until the job is half done--when the room is already torn up, furniture is crammed into other rooms and they unroll the new carpet to install it. So to me, good service after installation was just as important. Overall, I am very pleased and will return to K&Y Carpet when I replace the carpeting in other rooms of the house.

I haven't bought yet. Visited this dealer along with others in the area. Talked with Both the owner and a lady sales person. Both were very helpful and knowledgeable. Products seemed to be very good quality. Price was about 1/3 higher than another A rated company. Considering the lower priced store but haven't decided yet.

The installers were prompt. They moved all the furniture & got right to work removing the old carpet & pad vacuuming the area installing the new pad and carpet and then replacing all the furniture. They took the old carpet pad with them and cleaned up after themselves.

Very nice company, very customer oriented and easy to do business with. Lisa knows the product well and was able to help me choose the right color and type of carpet for my needs. Gary, the installer, consulted with my wood flooring contractor to make sure the transition pieces would meet the carpeting correctly. He will be installing the carpet after the wood is finished.

I have used K & Y for 18 years now. My carpet is still beautiful after 18 years. The tiling was excellent and the young man that did the tile work did a fantastic job. I was very happy with the materials and the workmanship. They live up to their name. They were helpful in their suggestions and the measuring was done well with no mishaps.
