Intercoastal Pool

Intercoastal is not able to maintain the installed system. There are unresolved problems even though the pool was started nine months ago. Owners purchased top-of-the-line Pentair Intelliconnect pool control system. In early November, 2019, shortly after the system was installed, owner noticed a problem with the system and reported it to Intercoastal. A technician was assigned and came to the pool site several times but was not able to accomplish a repair. On 2/11/2020 Intercoastal turned the problem over to the owner to work with the manufacturer to try to get the problem resolved. On 2/13/2020 the owner communicated with the Pentair Service Manager who, on the same day, was able to remotely implement an action that caused the system to work properly. He informed the owner, however, that the system is wired incorrectly.

It went ok until the end when there was issues they needed to resolve and still to this day 5 months later we haven’t heard anything from them now that they have the full payment. They also never had the final inspection done and are still waiting on that as well months and months after it was completed

They were not responsive. Called them three times requesting a quote; each time the person who answered the phone told us the person in charge of that would call us back within a day, but they never once did. Maybe they don't need the work? If that were the case, it would be a better business practice to say they're not interested.

Design & durability have been fine; there have been issues with the LED lights but Intercoastal addressed those quickly and effectively. The main issue I have is with their maintenance service. They miss appointments to do the cleaning and they have a poor customer service approach for dealing with complaints. They replaced the Tech and dispatched a Tech to service the pool, but never acknowledged the issue or contacted me about the compliant. Recently, the service has become spotty again. I am looking to replace them as a result.

A year later and it's not working. Worst part is they refuse to return any of my phone calls or emails. You think a business would at least have the common courtesy of getting back in touch with you. Very VERY unprofessional as far as customer service goes.

I thought it went fine until I came to the house and flushed the toilets. All the toilets started backing up. I called Intercostal and asked them if they did anything and they denied it. I called a plumber who spent hours trying to find the problem. I continued to call Intercostal while the plumber searched but they said it was not them and denied all responsiblility. The plumber went in the backyard and said there was 25 feet of sewage pipes stacked up that had come out of the ground. The plumber began to dig in the backyard and found that the sewage pipe had been cut in two places and the 25 feet of connecting pipe had been removed. Intercoastal never bothered to hook it back up again or even call meI The sewage pipe was 2 inches from the pool pipe so there is no way this was an accident. Intercoastal then covered the whole thing back up with dirt without a word to me. The plumber said to redo and reconnect would be $6,000 which they could complete the following day. I called Intercostal for the fifth time that day and they finally came out. My plumbing bill was $1,900 for the first day. We had to overnight in a hotel. The next day Intercostal sent their plumber out to redo and reconnect the sewage. I asked for reimbursement on my plumbing bill of $1,900 and hotel costs $120.00 and though they said they would work with me, ultimately they said I should be grateful that they fixed the problem and they are not responsible for the plumbing or hotel bill. I understand they do not know what is in the ground before they dig but the fact that they damaged my sewer, took out 25 feet of pipe and would not even acknowledge it makes them a very dishonest company. They badly broke something and didn't even let me know. I think this is completely unethical as since the broke it they should have fixed it and reimbursed me for the costs. I highly recommend going to another pool company as this one is not trustworthy!

A+++++++++. They were professional, courteous, patient and forthcoming with all my questions. Very informative every step of the way. They are very conscious and precise with there work no matter what crew came out to preform the work. They were on schedule the only delay was weather. I would definitely recommend Intercoastal Pool and Spa and would use them again

We recently had our pool and deck resurfaced. Roger was on the project and kept me informed from start to finish. He provided guidance regarding materials and cost keeping within our budget. Roger and his crew were professional, knowledgeable and highly trained. The pool and deck look beautiful.

We had our pool deck resurfaced and our pool border re-tiled. The job was more involved than it sounds, and it was certainly a big deal to us. We had made some bad design and color decisions when we first had our pool put in and had been waiting years to make the pool look nice again. Frankly, we were worried about throwing more good money after bad. But these guys were absolutely great. I have never seen customer service like this, and the price was substantially less than the other bid we received. No, they?re not going to meet your deadlines if you?re standing in your backyard with a calendar, but we were more interested in the final result than in beating a stopwatch. In our case they did excellent work. As others have said, the tile work was beautiful (and difficult, with some of the sharp curves in our pool). In addition, they refused to be satisfied with their workers? repair of a small error long after we would?ve been happy to let it go. We couldn?t have been happier with the end result, and would recommend them without hesitation. Great people and great work.

Went with another company

Contract stated that work was to begin within 10 days of contract being signed. It was not. The contract was signed in early November, work commenced in mid December, and the work was completed in early January of 2013. Work was to be completed in "four or five days"; it took four or five weeks after work was eventually begun. In fairness, when work was finally to begin just before Thanksgiving, we asked that the work be postponed for one week while we were out of town. When work wasn't completed by Christmas we asked that materials and tools be removed from the pool deck as they created an eyesore. Materials were simply moved around the corner but left in plain sight. Workers left trash (plastic bottles, etc). Workers using homeowners hose reels etc. never replaced them in their original position and instead left hosed "wadded up" in the bushes. Work site was essentially a mess. Workers shut off water to the entire house and left the site for the weekend. Owners had to call and have them return to restore water service. Oddly, there was no reason to turn off the water to the entire house in the first place. Various workers would show up, work for an hour or two and be gone. Days passed when no one was on site. Once pool was refilled Intercoastal was responsible (by contract) for rebalancing the pool chemicals. Chlorine tabs were placed in a floating container (this is a salt water pool) and that apparently constitutes rebalancing. Within one week the pool turned to yellow and then to green. Owner bore the expense of rebalancing the pool chemicals. When work was completed workers were to return to replace furniture on pool deck. Still waiting for them to return, owner finally replaced furniture. Had to call for a final inspection and touch up (footprints in painted surface, back spray on walls). Sales agent was do to final inspection. Didn't show on the day expected, did show when no one was home the next day. The quality of the job was excellent. The price was fair. The communication was horrible.

We were apprehensive about re-doing our pool, wondering if anybody could actually fix all the problems. Intracoastal pools came out promptly, gave us an estimate, and listened to all our concerns. The work on the pool was slow but steady, but they showed up when they said they would and, with the exception of one worker (who decided to take a shortcut testing our spa for leaks), the guys were not just professional, they were superb. The tile guy is an artist, his work is just gorgeous. And the company returned multiple times to address the leaking spa and totally fixed it. The man who re-worked all our piping to simplify the system was very very smart. The office help was great and assisted us in picking the colors and products that would look the best. It is a year later and our pool is leak free and problem free and absolutely beautiful. We did not know how good it could look and how much more we would enjoy using it.

Everything they said they would do was done on time. Price was competitive.

Intercoastal Pool employs all of their own staff and does not contract workers. They did a very neat job, did not leave a mess, and left me very happy. They were professional, stand behind their work, and they are very competitive in price.

I would not use them again. The work came out fine, but I don't really like them. The price and quality of the work are probably average. The owner wasn't professional, but the workers were fine.
