Hammond Kitchen and Baths & All Florida Granite

Everything went wrong. Our point of contact (salesman) lost his job - no POC. Drawings and dimensions were not adhered to. I am a General Contractor and I know when a job goes sour because of management. I have read the other reviews and agree with all the bad ones. I didn't belong to Angie's list when the work was done - reason for late review. The color of the cabinets was wrong (salesman put down wrong color and I had no way of knowing that until the cabinets showed up. Fibre board is no good for wet areas - it disintegrates when wet. I ordered and paid extra for ALL WOOD cabinets. What showed up on my job was the cheap fibre board. I refused to allow them to unload. The sales mananger came and tried to give me a discount to accept the cheaper product - I refused. The company seems to be owned by brothers. One started working to resolve and the other did nothing but try to play hardball and filed a lien on my house. I documented everything in case it went to Court. I gave them fully dimensioned detailed drawings and they couldn't even follow them during construction. Everything had to be done two or three times. The backsplashes fabricated to match their cabinets were wrong and warped. Our kithen was in total shambles for over two months - they had removed all our existing cabinets in preperation for the new cabinets - including the sink. Knowing this, they said they would do nothing until I paid them. I feel sorry for anybody that is not familliar with construction or the law. I told them that I would cancel the contract for lack of performance and I had it well documented. They started to realize they had to complete the contract as written. It was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in my 50 years as a contractor. Do not use these people.

Whole job took too long do to. Lack of comunication between Hammond office and subcontractors was untimely and awkward. Schedule of work performed never matched what they said they would do. Had to keep on them to get the job done. Price for services was too high. Finished product finally ended up looking nice, but the process getting there was too frustrating and confusing.

We thought if we went to Hammond we would have great service and a quality kitchen and baths. We were wrong. Well into the transaction our Salesman was no longer employed at Hammond. We had no one to call except the repair people. They did all that they could for awhile and were very nice. The cabinet doors had dings in them and they were replaced with doors that didn't match so I asked to have the old doors back.They were put back on and I was told they would reorder the doors. I'm still waiting. I've called but nothing has happened. The kick plates are flimsy, stapled imitation wood. One kitchen drawer doesn't open all the way because it hits the oven door. A cabinet door hits the Microwave when opened. I thought having a custom kitchen would prevent these things from happening.The Corian counters are still cloudy looking and have some scratches. We did have a Corian Rep come to the house and he felt Hammond should buff the counters. When they were installed the installer put about 12 clamps on them and said someone would be back to remove them. Three days later I removed them myself. I could have bought these cabinets anywhere but chose Hammond because I thought I could trust them to give us a quality kitchen and baths...I was wrong.

Great job, clean and neat, was on time and budget. Great follow up with us and attention to detail, would use again.
