I had three A/C companies come out and give me proposals to replace our central A/C & Gas furnace unit . I chose Durhams and Sons because of the excellent attention to detail that RJ paid while conducting his inspection of what we had currently, the areas we needed to cool and heat and what would be the most efficient and cost effective to invest in. RJ was very professional, curteous and was honest. His attention to detail in measuring then calculating exactly what we needed won me over. Other companies only 'guessed' at what would work for us. Troy, the installer did an exceptional job in building and installing the air handler. He took the time to Carl did an exceptional job in installing and anchoring down the outside unit. They kept their work area clean while working and did a very professional job. They left our home clean during the entire installation process. The only problem: RJ quoted that upon hiring their Company they would be out the following week to begin the installation. Because of other commitments they would not be able to start on our home for two weeks. The work around: RJ had his installers bring three window units and set them up for us to use. All in all very happy with the work performed. I didn't have to go behind them to clean up as I have had to so many other times with other companies doing work for us. Plus I am allergic to cigarette smoke and the smoker respected me by smoking on his breaks in his truck! These people really care. I would highly recommend them (and I am very adamant on how I require work to be done).

I was extremely impressed with this company and the quality of work is excellent. The owner is very hands on and explains everything to you so you understand what it is you are getting. The installers were extremely professional and perfectionists at their job. The cost of the unit was very reasonable and I compared many companies.

Had a sales presentation and quote from company representative, RJ Durham, who was very personable and professional. After a month of consideration, RJ made a followup call and we let him know we were ready to purchase the higher end product of the options presented. The new Trane air conditioner, air handler and thermostat were installed a week later in a very efficient manner by polite, knowledgable service technicians. They cleaned up like they hadn't even been here. A week later air cooling had stopped. After an 8:30am call to the Service Dept., a technician was here in 2 hours and the problem diagnosed as a simple loose wire and repaired in 15 minutes. Again, a polite knowledgable tech guy left us with a pleasant experience and a job well done. Durham & Sons is a quality company to deal with and has our recommendation for their services.

They did a terrific job. They're top of the line, and you pay top dollar. The price was high.

They always charge a very reasonable price. They are dependable and reasonable. They are about as punctual as they can get as far as getting to your house from another problem that they are solving.

They were on time when they called and when then came to my house. I felt very comfortable around him. They also clean up after themselves. He was very kind. They were a great price too.

We got them off of Angie’s List. They put in a full air conditioning system last October for us. My experience with them has been excellent. The owner and the workers were great. They are perfectionists and that’s the really important thing, they are going to get it right the first time.

From the very beginning it was all very professional. The workmen arrived on time and commenced the task of doing their job. All went well from the start. We couldn't have asked for more and can't praise them enough. We will definitely refer them to others.

Three technicians worked for two days, efficiently, quietly, professionally. They were knowledgeable, pleasant, & clean. We have been very satisfied with their work & the attentiveness of the company. One of the company's owners came out the next day to see that the work was done to his satisfaction, & make sure that we had been given appropriate instructions on the equipment.

They charged me an additional $25 for coming out after they had already installed the light, which I think they shouldn’t have. When I went and got another light bulb, it worked.

Work was meticulously done from estimation onward, and was satisfactory in every respect.

I wanted to add some type of lighting to a dark bedroom in my house. I called and set up an appointment for an estimate. When the electrician arrived, he told me that the type of lighting I wanted to add (valance lighting) wasn't practical and then gave me the reasons why. He suggested track lighting, but also told me that I would most likely have 1-2 holes in the outside wall of the room and they couldn't easily run the wires through the ciderblock that the house is constructed of. He gave me a written estimate and told me to give the company a call if I decided on that course of action. I decided to take his advice and purchased the track lighting. Then I set an appointment. Unfortunately, on the scheduled installation date, the electrician's daughter was ill and he couldn't keep the date. The office called me and wanted to re-schedule, but I was going out of town. I mentioned when I would be back in Florida and was pleasantly surprised when I received a follow up call to see if I was ready for the installation. I set a date and time, and 2 electricians showed up to complete the work in +/- 2 hours. Their work was neat and I was left with only 1 small hole in the wall near the ceiling. I also received an apology for the earlier cancelled appointment. So, I am very pleased that I chose to hire Durham to do this work for me.

Originally RJ came and gave me an estimate. He is very professional and knows his stuff. then the guys came out and they were also very professional. Donna at the office is great - very helpful and they call you a lot to make sure your ready for them and to keep you updated on when they are going to be there. You might have to call a couple times initially but I am OK with that. All but one of the other companies I called never called me back. And a couple don’t do this kind of work. Trevor (Tyler???) was very professional and he did great work. it was really hot the day they worked and I can appreciate how hard it is to be crawling around a tiny attic. i did have to call them about a week later to have the vents adjusted and a damper put on the new duct but it went really smoothly, and they didn’t charge me again to come out. i can tell this company really wants to get it right and the second time RJ came out to double check everything himself. This is a truly professional top notch company and I wouldn’t look anywhere else for my air cond needs. Also I am a single woman and I had no qualms about being at the house with the two guys alone. I know that might be a concern for some people but these guys couldn’t have been more professional.

I was without air conditionin fo 2 weeks. Durham had given me a quote after inspecting the air conditioner and finding the compressor was not woking. I was leaving for California the next day so we made arrangements for them to return in 2 weeks to repair the system Terry called me 2 days before my arrival to schedule the time of repair. The repairman was at my home promptly as scheduled, he completed the job and checked that everything was working efficiently and cooling my home to my satisfaction. There was no mess, he was courteous and professional, I would definitey use this company again.

Outstanding service. During a 4-week period, a number of appliances and other electrical equipment had died, fried, ceased functioning, or functioned in a peculiar manner, one right after the other. After FL Power & Light confirmed no problems existed with the power coming IN to the house, I called Durham & Sons for assistance. I called the D&S office on a Saturday night, relaying my call was NOT an emergency, and asking they call me on Monday; I received a call early on Monday and the work was scheduled for the next day. Vince, the D & S electrician who came to my house, was on time, courteous, and knowledgeable. After listening to my description of the problems I had experienced, he checked the breaker box and found the main and several hot and neutral wires were sufficiently loose they may have caused arcing that resulted in the appliance problems. He did all the work necessary in just over 30 minutes, then took all the time I needed to ensure I understood the issues involved. This is the second time I have used Durham & Sons - the first time was to have a new a/c unit installed - and I cannot recommend them too highly. This is an excellent company that employs great people who do outstanding work.

They did great repairwork. When one thing that didn’t go exactly right the manager came out immidiately and fixed the problem. They were very honest and gave us the right information and the work was good.

I would highly recommend Durham and Sons. I only got their estimate, due to the professionalism and writeups on Angies List. I knew it was going to be an expensive job, but I was shocked at the amount. I was disappointed no discount for cash. The team was not only the most professional home improvement company I have worked with in years, but CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. They even provided a new register in my walkin closet which makes a huge difference! Explained what they were doing, how long it would take, and finished on time. Made all attempts to keep us comfortable during the week, with a portable unit in our front yard blowing cold cold air into our home plus hooked up our portable a/c unit we had purchased in the past for use during god help us we lose electricity during a future storm. Can not say enough about the company. Would highly recommend!
