Honestly, nobody likes it when their A/C breaks. We closed on our home, a week ago and last night got a low pressure warning. I called Durham and Sons based on the Angie’s List reviews, and their techician Greg came right on time. There were 2 leaks in the condenser coil that another company installed two years ago for the previous owners. I would hire them again. Their price wasn’t cheap, but I believe that the tech did a very good job, and was very professional. I’m really glad that he found the second leak while the whole thing was already apart.

OMG what a great company!!!! They are not the cheapest but what is superior service worth. I considered this in the cost. My husband is handicapped and I need someone to depend on. Great products and people. It has been a year and still happy. They just finished by 1 year tune up.

Perfect. A little trouble shooting then determined it was the breaker for that area of the house.

Durham and Sons had replaced our original AC over 10 years ago and due to that experience, plus their excellent service over the years, we hired them again. As expected, they did a totally professional job that even garnered compliments from my neighbor who was impressed watching their outside work. The experience begins with the owner, RJ analyzing your home's requirements and providing several options/recommendations. Once under contract, his team arrives on schedule and works tirelessly to complete the job ASAP without compromising quality. RJ periodically stops by to monitor progress and returns for a final inspection at completion. The office staff goes out of their way to be helpful, before, during and after. I have to admit that the scope of their work with new ducting installation, air handler installation, and post-install air flow balancing was beyond what I expected and the final product is truly impressive! You don't call Durham and Sons for the cheapest job, you call them for the best job!

Excellent! I contacted three A/C companies for consideration to replace one of my A/Cs. Durham by far was the most detailed in their analysis of my needs and thoroughness of their estimate. They even repaired my old a/c at no cost so it would keep the house cool before they installed the new unit. The installers did a fantastic job, kept the job site neat as a pin, and rebuilt the air handler area such that it looks absolutely pristine. As the air handler is on my second floor, they also took extra care with the drain pan so as not to have leakage issues on the first floor ceiling in the future. An absolutely amazing job all around. Definitely will be using them for additional a/cs in the future!

I've been a customer for about 15 years. I have always been treated fairly and received prompt service. All of their personnel are pleasant and easy to work with. I especially appreciated the window ac loaner they provided while they were replacing my unit. They made sure the lines they installed were covered and sealed off and it really looks great. This attention to detail is a regular part of their work, but one that is missing from many other companies. Thank you!

Could not have asked for a better job or better overall experience. These guys are pros with high standards for their work. The customer service department was one of the best I have ever experienced. I spoke to Cathy to schedule an appointment for an estimate. Cathy was extremely professional, courteous, and accommodating. Vince came out on time to give us an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable. We made plans to have the work done, but then we experienced a huge financial burden so we had to cancel the work. I highly recommend Durham and Sons Inc to anyone looking for electrical work or repair. They are extremely professional and the prices are reasonable.

Very nicely. Fearless young warriors went into my stifling Florida attic in July. Then they installed a bedroom window unit for the upcoming downtime. They replaced both the outdoor blower and the garage units, expertly finishing the drywall and exterior venting, even neatly rerouting the dryer vent. Upgraded the thermostat.

I first contacted Durham and Sons when we thought our AC was leaking. Was able to get someone out that very day (Friday of spring break no less) and confirm that it wasn't the AC that was leaking. He said our unit was old, but not dead yet. He said to contact D&S when we were ready to replace. We were astounded there was no pressure with this first visit and happily made mental notes to put these guys on our list to call for quotes when we did replace. Our repairman even suggested given the location of the leak what kind of specialist to call. He was correct and we were thankful to catch something quickly that could have horribly gone wrong. Fast forward a few months... our AC started making a funny noise so we started researching companies to ask for quotes from. Life got busy and one day we found ourselves with no AC because we'd waited too long of course it was a weekend and my husband was out of town so I waited until he got back to call. Called D&S and they were able to send someone that very day (again!) the repairman was kind and eager to help. The AC had a leak and he was not able to find out where the leak was coming from. We knew this would lead to major expense, and we knew we didn't want to reinvest the money in a machine that only had a year or two left, so we decided to replace. The few companies that we contacted provided quotes for us, but D&S was the only company to come and inspect before hand (even though they had been out before)! We were impressed with their professionalism and determination to get the job done quickly, but also correctly. And that meant a few days wait - which they provided window AC units for us to use while we were down. Also, we had some issues with how the previous unit was installed. D&S took care of those and also suggested a few more fixes because THEY had issue with how it was installed before. We appreciate them wanting a job done correctly so that they can stand behind the product that they service. Price-wise, they are a bit lower than average for the unit we selected. We did have a quote that came in lower and could start and finish quicker, but the brand of unit was not to our liking. We paid for a 3rd party service to provide estimated retail trends in our area and they were lower than quoted by that service for the make and models we looked up. Their customer service is stellar. They treat you like family. I highly recommend Durham and Sons for service calls and also AC replacement. We are so happy to have found a company that cares about what they do, the products they provide and the manner in which they do all of it.

Quote was reasonable. Work was quickly scheduled (and then rescheduled at out request). Vince arrived on time and all work was completed. We were impressed at the professionalism and knowledge displayed by Vince. All work areas were cleaned and returned to their original state.

They did a good job. Everything was excellent from the time they came out and gave us an estimate until the installation of a new unit. They also followed up when necessary. Their workers and staff are all pleasant. I will use them again and recommend them.

Excellent- Workman was very knowledgeable, told me ahead of time how he would do installation after getting our preferences. Cleaned up and did very professional job at reasonable price.

THINK ALL AIR CONDITIONER INSTALLATION COMPANIES ARE THE SAME? THINK AGAIN We requested quotes from six different companies. I purposely chose three small companies and three top-tier local contracting companies with long track records and excellent reviews. Here is how the bidding went: 1. One estimator did not show up at his appointment time and we never heard from them again. 2. The second company had a man show up who did a 12-minute quick once-over of our site and said he’d get back to us. He really wanted to sell us a 16-SEER system that he personally liked but we wanted maximum efficiency. He left and we never heard anything more from them, they did not bid. 3. The third company showed up and was extremely thorough, it took him two hours to gather all the information about our site. He did extensive research into the power wiring and the access for all the new copper lines. He was very nice, the nephew of the owner and the heir to the company. 4. The fourth company was a small one man (with an assistant) outfit, he pitched us a Carrier System with a 18 Seer rating. I called him that night to ask why he did not bid their most efficient unit but I got his voice mail. I left him a message. We made note of the fact his marketing said “call 24/7” but I got voice mail. He NEVER returned my call. 5 & 6. The fifth and sixth companies to send estimators did not do a thorough job reviewing the site. They both had printers in their brief case bags. After looking at our place, each entered numbers into a program that spit out the finished quote, they printed it there on the spot and then launched in to canned car-salesman pitches for why I should deal with them. Both of these guys were the most expensive by over $2000 and over $3000 more than the quote we received from the third company. I should also mention that both 5 & 6 ignored sizing the supply plenum correctly, neither included a drain pan under the air handler, both wanted more money for the air cleaner as an option and neither of them mentioned the size of the supply duct in the wall of the air handler room. After receiving their quotes I asked each “what about the supply plenum size?”. One said the existing was fine and the other quoted me an $800 option to have it modified. Both said I could add a water pan for extra money but it was not needed since they had floor sensors to shut the unit down if there was water detected on the floor under the unit. Personally I liked the idea of a metal pan to catch water since we already had a bad experience with this on the old system and had to tear out all the wet carpet from the utility closet the gear is in. AND THE WINNER IS The third company to bid responded with an email quote the day after their estimator was here, it was waiting for me when I woke up in the morning. I printed it and spent the next hour studying it. They quoted me the exact system I was looking for. They made several very useful low cost suggestions and they offered me an upgrade to the duct work which feeds my recording studio for only $440 (very reasonable price in the middle of hot Florida summer). They included an oversized 5-inch tall air cleaner box that everybody else wanted $400 for as an option. They also quoted me a couple of lesser systems for comparison. On top of having the most comprehensive and complete quote they also had the lowest price of anyone who gave us an estimate ($3000 less than the most expensive, $2000 less than the nearest next highest). They were no BS and they had their own staff answering the phones when you call. Everyone I ever spoke to was super nice. Gee, which company do you think got our business? They’re called Durham and Sons and they’re located here in Melbourne, Florida. Today I had my “post installation” building inspection which is a County requirement. The inspector from Brevard County took one look at our air-handler installation and said “Durham and Sons, you can’t do better. I look at a lot of installations and I love looking at Durhams work, they’re the best”.

They quickly came and diagnose the issue. Unfortunately they were unable to get an full replacement estimate and schedule the replacement a time frame that I needed. So I just had the service call to pay for.

Called company for a quote to replace my air conditioning system. They came out, did a thorough evaluation and gave me several quotes for systems to fit my price range.

Everything went quickly and seamlessly, no problems at all. They pulled the necessary permits for the job and the inspection was flawless. I will definitely be using them again.

I use them every year. I call them and they come out pretty quick. We have used them for 4 years I think. It usually takes one technician and it takes maybe a hour. I like them. They leave the area very clean when they are done. It's been great.
