Flawless. On time, professional, friendly, informative, courteous. Our FPL bill reflects what a good decision it was. They are a family owned business that has been in this area for years and I like that. I felt that care.

They installed the new AC and furnace, as well as the air ducts. They are a great firm. I highly recommend them. I will be using them again.

My outside lamp post light had gone out, kept tripping the breaker, which was tied in to my master bedroom. Also the screws on the light itself were frozen, (put in cross threaded) so I could not even change the bulb. The post is 2 1/2 inches with a 3 inch light. Called Durham electric, Vince came to check everything out, told him I wanted everything changed even a new lamp post. He sugessted I could save myself some money by breaking up the concrete myself and getting the post and light, which I did. He couldn't find the problem and had to come back with a different piece of equipment. When he returned (on time) he checked the wire in the ground and found where it had burned. This was the problem (which also saved me some time and money, because this had been obstructed by the concrete). He put in the new post and light and also put in a new outside box, which had eroded a bit. The work was done very professionally, and he explained everything as he went along, answered all my questions. The photo cell he installed was bad so he had to come back and install a new one, He came back the same day, put in the new cell and everything was fine. Everything was done the way they said, it was done on time, and I couldn"t be happier. I would definitely reccommend them and will glady use them in the future. The job went very smoothly, on time, on budget. In addition to being skilled, the technicians were pleasant to have around the house. The attention and follow-up from the front office were great. RJ took the time to discuss the options, codes, and details with us and personally followed the progress. We have had warranty work done by this company before and find them to be a conscientious, knowledgeable, service oriented, family run outfit.

Came in and quickly and efficiently took out the old, and took it away, put in the new, cleaned up after themselves. Excellent job.

Durham and Sons was very responsive. The repairman did not have the thermostat required. He returned the next day. He replaced the thermostat and the A/C has worked perfectly ever since.

He was prompt, very fair and troubleshot the problem without trying to sell us things we did not need. We would definitely recommend him and would use him again.

Every thing went perfect. Very professional. Afterwards the DJ Durham came to be sure that every thing was completed and answered any questiions we had about the operation of the units.

We tried desperately to work with Durham and Sons Inc. because they were highly recommended. Someone was sent to talk to us about what was needed. When he left, we were told we would receive an estimate within a day or two. We called repeatedly and were never able to obtain the estimate. After a month, we were forced to find another electrical contractor to do the work.

The work perfomed was done very professionally, and neatly.. The estimate and total price were exact!!

Cost far less that I had feared, and the A/C was working much better immediately. Very professional and they were able to send someone over the same morning that I called.

The service person arrived 15 minutes after the 9-11AM scheduled time. I had called at 1100 and was told that the person was running late from a previous call. The service person was professional, friendly and appeared to be very knowledgeable. He was very helpful in answering my questions about our heat pump system. He also gave helpful recommendations on how to maintain the system to prevent future problems. He checked out the system as expected, found no problems and was done in less than 1 hour. Although the price was higher than the other companies I considered, I would call this company back for service again in the future.

We had used this vendor prior for our electrical/air conditioning needs so when we decided to install a new a/c system, they were the first one we called. Their service is impeccable; they are knowledgeable, courteous, prompt and fair priced. I would highly recommend them. They perform a multitude of services- we have had experience with three different types of service and all were beyond expectation.

This is the second time we have used Durham and had another excellent experience. Will always use them for any work we need or a new system.

The removal and installation process took 3 days to complete. The work was started and completed per the agreed upon schedule. The work team showed up on time, worked a full day, and cleaned up the area at the end of each work day. The team was professional and exceptionally neat in their work performed paying close attention to even he smallest of details. Upon completion we were taught how to set the new thermostat, how the new system differed from old system and what benefits to expect from it. Final performance tests were run and the duct work was tested for balance throughout the house. We had a very positive experience with everyone we interfaced with at Durham and Sons and would highly recommend them as a Heating and Air Conditioning contactor.

This was a good experience. Feel confident about calling again if needed.

Several outlets & wall switches, both inside & outside (on our patio) were not working. I called Durham & Sons based on reviews & ratings found on Angie's List to see about getting a diagnosis & estimate of the problem. To my surprise, they sent someone out within the hour! Vince checked out the electrical panel, & effected outlets & switches. Discovered that the problem was with the multi-outlet covers on several of the outlets. He replaced the multi-outlet covers, & one entire outlet. Problem fixed! I also asked Vince about some fixes/upgrades we were interested in for the future. He took the time to explain several options for us to consider. I was very impressed with how courteous & professional Vince was! Will definitely use again...

They re-positioned our ducts and the difference in the air flow is amazing. They were very knowledgeable. They explained everything to us.

The electrician came to the home and provided a written quote. I guess this company is in high demand because there was a bit of a wait before we got a response to our request to come out and install the antenna. The guy was pleasant enough despite our being electronically challenged and needing extra assistance. We had a brown out a couple of times and lost the signal, so he came out and got it back for us. He also called again to see how it was working and walked us through the solution which was much appreciated. My only suggestion would be to have whatever equipment the customer is required to provide pre-typed in bold on the estimate form (had trouble reading the handwritten details). It would also help if the customer was verbally told as well. Btw, we would not have made an appointment for someone to come out and not be at home when they came. Whoever said that was confused. We were told the electrician would CALL us when he got the chance. But in spite of running into a few minor glitches, we now have free TV to watch and its all good.

We were very satisfied with their services, although we almost didn't use them initially. The owner, RJ, is a trip. He's incredibly knowledgeable, but when you get him talking, he's like a fire hose. At one point in the sales process, we thought he completely misunderstood what we wanted, but it turned out he was just trying to explain all (and I mean ALL) the possibilities. Once you get to know him, you'll realize he's very cool, and totally on your side. We had a few very minor hiccups along the way. The workers were all good, but sometimes signals got crossed on exactly what was to be done. We had to be a little pro-active in managing the process, but we've discovered that it's important to manage all work done on your home proactively. At first, one of the guys (an HVAC guy, not a full-time electrician) did a slightly sloppy job on the wiring around the air cleaner, but once we pointed it out, he cleaned it up immediately. We also needed a lot of electrical work done, and we thought it was a plus that R.J. Durham and Sons have a team of dedicated electricians, too. Jerry and Vince (not the same guys who wired the air cleaner) were the team of full-time electricians who rewired the power in the house, added a bunch of new circuits, and stringed GigE wires throughout the house. These guys lived in our roof in the Florida heat, for a few weeks (it was a big job). They were amazing, put their all into our unusual job, and really helped us plan and execute the whole process so our special needs would be met. We even joked around about putting up a plaque in the attic, dedicating it to them. Overall, we would not hesitate to recommend RJ and his team. They're nice, helpful, responsive, and very knowledgeable, and their quality is quite good. We had a very complex project, and so some degree of pro-active management was required on our part, but if we had to do it again, we'd hire these guys again. All these systems have now been in use for about six months and they're working flawlessly.

Initial installation of the air conditioning unit was done when the building was constructed several years ago. Multiple problems and service issues have arisen over time and the original installer had been called back for repairs several time, with the most recent servicing effort resulting in a $900 bill. When additional problems arose, a second estimate was sought and Durham & Sons was selected to provide it. A visit was scheduled and they evaluated the system and reported on the long list of non-compliances that they noted. They took the time to explain what was wrong and how it hampered effective system operation, would cause system problems, and incur unnecessary operating costs. The system was installed incorrectly. There was insufficient air flow as required by the equipment, air cleaning and humidity removal were impaired, all of which would cause the system to operate much longer costing much more in electric bill. Durham & Sons corrected these problems, plus issues with the ducting channels and connections.

They were excellent. Their prices were reasonable.
