They were very professional, they were here when they said they would be here, they cleaned up after themselves, and they checked back with us. They had just been exemplary. I wish everybody that I had to deal with was like this company. It is terrific! I certainly would recommend and use them without hesitation. We looked around and their price was pretty much in line.

We were out of town for a few days and upon our return, the a/c was not working. We had to place an emergency call for service on Saturday afternoon. We called the answering service and within a few minutes, a technician called and approximately an hour later was at our house. He was able to determine what had caused the problem and to provide a temporary fix and indicated they would be back during the work week to complete the repair. In the interim, we were able to have a/c working well. We were very impressed with the quick response and appreciate all that Durham and Sons has done in the past to keep our unit working well.

Called at 4:30 PM on Friday. Service tech arrived at 6:00 got the unit blowing cold air by 7:00 PM Informed me (as have several AC techs) that my unit was very old and that there may be an issue with the condenser fan motor. AC unit went out again at 8:00 PM, service tech was back at house at 8:30 PM got the unit blowing cold air again. Tech was very concerned about the fan motor, There was a slight noise that he thought might be a problem. Long story short, fan motor went out on Saturday, Tech replaced fan motor. Cold air again. Will be buying a new unit from Durham & Son.

My AC went out last night. I realized it this morning when it was 81 in house. It's been 86 most all day. I spoke to Jacki in office around 1:20pm. She said someone would come between 2-5pm. I called back at 4:55 pm and was told by Justin, the tech, that no one ever told him. I cancelled! I am 64 and crippled from a stroke. This heat and humidity is killing me! All I can say is that these people are not professional or honest.

Excellent service. Most impressive was dependable arrive time. Most companies give you a morning or afternoon 6 hour window. Durham gave me a 1 hour window and consistantly showed up on time. Very knowlegeable work force. Flexible and willing to work with you to solve any issues. I would definitly recomend this company.

They were fast, professional and thoughtful. We hardly knew they were here. They answered all of our questions when the job was completed and seemed anxious to help.

New HVAC installed and exceeded my expectations. Very thorough research and estimate for the quote. Very punctual and thorough installation.

The installation was started on the date and time promised so they were punctual. They took great care in laying down tarps to protect the carpet when removing the old and bringing in the new air handler and did the same with cleaning up after themselves. The two man crew kept us apprised of the progress of the removal and installation. I was impressed that after the new system was installed their supervisor came out to inspect their work so there would be no need for them to return. The supervisor returned for the final inspection with the town inspector. There were no flaws revealed during the inspection of the new system and we have been enjoying it ever since. It was a very professional job. I want to apologize for not submitting this review earlier. It just slipped my mind.

I knew I needed a duct replaced - it was old, crushed and broken so I was losing a lot of conditioned air into my attic and that reduced the amount going to the rest of the house. I searched Angie's List for a well regarded provider and settled on Durham & Sons. Called them and explained the problem. They asked if I had contacted FPL. No, I hadn't. They suggested that if I did, FPL would come out and do a FREE evaluation of my entire air distribution system and determine how much, if any, air was being lost. (There actually is a $30 charge by FPL for part of the test, which I elected to include.) Also, per Durham, I could qualify for an immediate rebate or discount for repairs if I used an FPL authorized service provider. So - I called FPL, scheduled the testing (2 hours) for a couple of days later, got immediate results and qualified for a significant rebate certificate - around $130. Then I called Durham back, faxed them a copy of the FPL report, and scheduled the work - again, just a day or so. They did a preliminary stop by to confirm what was needed to replace the bad duct. Durham sent two very capable young men to address the issues identified by FPL - seal all ducts as far as reach would allow; seal air intake area; seal indoor mounted blower system; replace bad duct. The work was done in one day - about 5 to 6 hours. They kept everything very clean, were polite in their manners, and did what I consider an excellent job of addressing the problems. So - our air distribution system is much more efficient, the house is more comfortable and our monthly bill has been reduced. I will monitor charges over time, but it appears that a significant improvement in efficiency has been made. I expect to use Durham and Sons for any future needs I have and recommend you include them if you are seaching for an A/C & Heating contractor.

From my call to the office for an appointment to completing the job, it was a great experience. Service was within an hour because there was a service technician in the area finishing up another job. The repair was done quickly and professionally. The technician took the time to explain and show me what caused the problem as well as answer my questions on this particular type of furnace. Durham and Sons did a great job, and I will use them in the future as well as recommend them to others.

Tried to make an appointment for a quote and was on hold forever, finally someone else answered and couldn't be fit in b/c they are so busy. Did offer to have someone look quickly, but no feedback or response till the next day. My a/c is down and I need a new one and not willing to wait a week and a half like they said as all the other local companies on Angies list can provide a quote, pull a permit and have it completed in 2 days, not a week and a half. And I'm sure the quote would be $4,000 t $5,000 like everyone else but their lucky b/c some people are willing to wait.... Good thing I have other quotes and moving forward with another company who cares and is more responsive.

We initially called Durham & Sons to service our existing 11 year old A/C system as it had froze up. When they came out they stated that we had freon leaks in the air handler unit and recommended we replace the blower unit. Since the system was so old and inefficient, we opted to replace it with a new, more efficient system. We got several quotes for replacing the system, including from Durham & Sons. RJ Durham was very punctual, personable, thorough and professional. He took readings and measurements of the current system and made recommendations for improving the system. He provided an estimate of 4 different makes and models that day. RJ admitted that they would not be the lowest bid but would ensure that everything would be taken of during and after the installation. We decided to go with Durham & Sons and have them install a Trane Xl20i system - They were the cheapest of the Trane XL20i bids. The installation took 3.5 days, where the installation of the air handler and compressor took 2 days and the additional duct work took just over a day. The installers, Clayton, Matthew and Tyler, were professional, courteous and diligent. They treated our home like it was their own. They provided temporary in-window A/C units to cool a few of the rooms, which was unexpected and appreciated. We were able to obtain financing and Durham & Sons took care of the rebates and other discounts. They even applied part of the original service call as a credit toward the price of the new system. We just received our first electric bill with the new system and it was 30% lower than for the same month last year. We are hoping for similar savings in the months to come. We are very pleased with the installation, performance and efficiency of the new system We would highly recommend Durham & Sons for any A/C installations and service you may need.

They replaced a ten year old A/C unit with a new one. They were very professional and prompt. They did a very nice job with attention to detail. This is the second time I have used them and will use them in the future.

The installation team was very professional and did an outstanding job. I was very impressed with the quality of work. The house is evenly cooled throughout. The best part is the new a/c unit has cut my electric bill in half.

The outside fan stopped working. Justin and a trainee arrived within the time specified. They checked the electrical system, gas pressure and clean around the condenser. While checking the electrical they discovered a burnt wire and replaced the clip at the end of the wire. They also put a bracket in to hold the capacitor. They will get my business again.

The job went excellent and was done very professionally. I was totally informed of my options to make an informed decision on the type of unit at a price I could afford. They also hooked me up with Wells Fargo for a 36 month 0% finance option.
