Description of Work: Complete remodel of home that was damaged by neglect. John said he would be finished with the project by the end of Oct but didn't finish until the end of March. Some of the projects were not done well at all, other were done fine. He did not have a good handle on his subs and whether or not they showed up was sometimes questionable.

 + 0 moreJohn Clancy has an eye for beauty of design, and the ability to bring your vision to life. He is easy to work with, and amenable to changes during construction. His charges for such changes were always reasonable. He made many useful suggestions during this project, and was reliable on agreed times for various activities. We recommend John Clancy without reservation.
Description of Work: John Clancy served as prime contractor when we did a major addition (two rooms and bath) and renovation of our house, including restructuring the roof and reinforcing existing foundations. The work he performed himself was of the highest quality, and he oversaw the work of his subcontractors to ensure they met his high standards.

Description of Work: New roof, all new doors and windows. 3 new windows, replaced sliders with French doors. New master suite and bath. Exterior painting.

 + 0 moreThe plans for the project were created by a local architect. The provider was the successful bidder for the project with a very competitive price. During the course of the job he encountered unforseen conditions of rotten wood and termite damage. The damage was repaired with high quality workmanship and at reasonable expense. The provider took great care to insure that the addition dovetailed in appearance with the original structure. The end result is an addition that does not look like an addition, but rather like it had always been there. He provided weekly schedules for each week, and was on the jobsite almost every day, as he self-performed the majority of the work. He seemed to work well with the architect to resolve issues with the plans. He cleaned the jobsite at the end of each work day. The roofing subcontractor seemed unfamiliar with the Peel 'n Stick underlayment specified for the roof system, and had to do some rework of the underlayment as a result. Overall, this provider was very good to work with, and I am very satisfied with the results of his efforts.
Description of Work: Demolished a screened porch and a second story deck, removed a sliding door on the second floor and replaced with a window, demolished a small breakfast nook, and constructed a new 300 SF family room addition and 180 SF screened porch.
