He was an excellent worker, and did precise work.

They were really outstanding. Their price was very fair. They were impeccable. They left the property beautiful and they came back to reseal the grout. They moved everything around within the house as they needed to, they brought their own things on wheels, whatever you call them, so I didn't have to unload. They were clean. They were extremely polite and they were here about a week. They were in and out of the house and I never minded them being around because they didn't play music. They were just the most delightful and really nice people. The work went really well; it came out the best. I recommend them to anybody.

Unlike the owner of the store, Chuck came and looked at the damage. He was perplexed and gave me some things to do to rule out causes that the shop owner implied and those proved to be groundless. Chuck did the repair and when he pulled up the old wood concluded the problem had to do with moisture collecting and it had something to do with the installation, although not the kind of thing that could've been predicted, related to the floor and the glue. It could however be remedied. I couldn't really chalk it up to negligence, but it did seem to be an installation problem. When the repair was complete (very well) Chuck told me I did not need to pay him. This was after 3 hours of labor for him and his helper. Unlike the idiot shop owner, Chuck did the right thing and at his expense. For that reason I asked if I could pay them something. He just pointed out the hours worked and left it up to me, so I paid them $100 and they were happy. I was as well. Like I said, he showed professionalism and did the right thing, and frankly, every other aspect of the installation, throughout my house, was superb and elicited comments from everyone who saw it. I would use Chuck and crew again. Not the store. And Chuck could access materials elsewhere so call him. I should add that my Dad owned a floor covering business for over 40 years and I know if one of his crew worked around him they would be fired. But honestly, this owner was terrible, had no sense of customer service nor professionalism, and I could understand what Chuck did and why. That's why my Dad was a good owner & boss and never had that problem.
