Bits Computer

I took my computer in to have it diagnosed and repaired. They were very cold and unresponsive and I should have left at that time but I did not. They told me a would be about a week to repair, wow was that wrong. It was several weeks and I called and they gave me several stories why it was not done. I left it with them several more weeks and still nothing. I finally told them that I needed the computer and would be picking it up. When I picked it up I was in shock that they just threw things in a box with out putting things back together. I was still charged for no repairs so I could get my computer back. When I got back home and opened my computer to put things back that had been remove or disconnected I was shocked to see what they had done. I did get my computer back up and running but the problem still exists. Never will I do business there again or recommend them. What I found when I opened my computer ( The ribbon cable was removed and all the drives and accessory devices were disconnected. Two of my hard drives were remount back into my computer in holes that did not line up and the screws were cross threaded into the holes.) There was more but to much to describe. Lucky I work on computers myself, with out knowledge of computers this computer for many would have been junk. I used to think highly of them and recommended them but some thing definitely has gone wrong in this business. STAY AWAY OR PAY THE PRICE!!! Like I did.

Job well done

They sold me a set that didn't match, so had to return for a matching set and pay an additional up charge plus had to purchase memory because old memory was not compatible. After replacing mother board CPU and Memory, on board Lan and Audio would not work. Brought back to them and after troubleshooting, they tried to sell me a NIC because the on board one wasn't working and indicated that I would have to live without sound. When I expressed that was unacceptable, was told that I would have to reload windows for it to work. I did a fresh install of Windows and still didn't work. Trouble shooting with manufacture of MB indicate a product defect and suggested I take back to store for refund or replacement. Bits would not refund or replace MB and indicated I had to take it to the manufacture for warranty repair. Manufacture will replace with a refurbished unit (not brand new) with shipping charges. Do not go to this store if you are wanting an easy return for defective equipment. I should have used Newegg.com as the entire process from start to finish would have been much quicker.

Power supply checked out okay so tech asked permission to confirm mother board was bad. I reluctantly agreed hoping against hope and it turned out it was a bad mother board.... they only charged me the $35 service fee.

I have been using them for a long time. This time I was a little bit disappointed. They must have had a new employee working on my computer and they lost all of my information. Fortunately, I subscribe to Carbonite so I was able to get my information back. I will continue to use them in the future. The owners are really brilliant people.
