Description of Work: Checked out my TV try to replace 2 new parts and it still did not work and it was going to cost over 250.00 to get replace the main circuit board and I said no, for another 50.00 I could buy a new one and that is what I did. Said my problem was from power surges, which I get a lot of.

 + -1 moreTV would not turn on in the AM but at one oclock at the arrival of the repair man it turned on when tried again. Punctual on arrival at the home. Told power supply / capacitors, used interchangeably, to be the problem. TV taken to shop which was unanticipated. Returned TV on 12/16 the next day set it up and it exhibited the identical problem I called about. Repairman, Robert, told the changed capacitors blew out again. That fast? They were cold and there was another problem that would require a power board replacement at a price of $350 from the original maximum price of capacitor board of $215. My question was if it was taken into the shop and put on testors, why wasn't the problem of the board found? Why does a repairman come out to carry a TV back to the shop? He only charged for the call of $75.00. I had mentioned that the house was cold in the AM then warmed by 1 o'clock as to why the TV came on the day before. On the return the TV was in an open bed PU. He said it got cold from the office to my home and that's why it blew out the repairs. He suggested to use a hair dryer to warm it. Then the TV came on just as it had the day before at 1 o'clock.
Description of Work: Took the TV from home to bench test. Replaced capacitors ( power supply?)

Description of Work: I cannot make a full response because the repair is not over yet. The service person was courteous, friendly and knowledgeable about his expertise. However the circuit board that was defective has to be sent out of state for repair (getting a new board would cost a couple of hundred more)and requires approx. 12 days downtime. He will be back then and my final response regarding the outcome will be submitted then. Thank you.
