Description of Work: I found Aegis LLC on Angie's list and called Mr. Lewis and described my computer problems to him. I am fairly coputer litrate so he suggested several options that I might try to fix the problems without paying him to troubleshoot. He told me to call him if I had further questions. I called him twice more that day and he provided helpful direction to me. I was very impressed with his integrity. However, I continued to encounter problems in spite of his suggestions. I called to make an appointment and he came to my home about two hours later. After he arrived I explained what I had done. He said I had resolved some of the problems and suggested that I pay him for one hourly to perform some cleanup issues with which I was unfamiliar. He also suggested I purchase and in expensive but good program that would provide better network security than my present program. It was a pleasure to watch him work. He is very knowledgeable with the MIcrosoft system programs and the internet. I learned a lot from him. He was honest, patient and respectful to my husband and me.

Description of Work: I had an Adobe problem that Brian fixed in the first visit 8/27. In the second visit 10/20 I had him remove some junk that came pre-loaded on my computer.

Description of Work: Computer was locking up. Mr Lewis was able to repair both the laptop and the desk top computer.

Description of Work: My company has an ongoing, monthly service contract to monitor our small office network.

Description of Work: Had difficultly for some time with Outlook not performing correctly and overall sluggish operating system. I work for myself and don't have the time or know how to look into the problem and correct and had been struggling along but getting bogged down. Brian responded promptly to my call, scheduled an arrival date and time within a few days of the call and was able to trouble shoot the problem with resolution. He also set up a remote access system so that in the future when I have a problem, he can work through the issues without the need to come to my house. In the initial consultation, I mentioned that I didn't have a back up system for my work files and he subsequently purchased and installed a back up system which was badly needed. I don't have sufficient knowledge of networks or computers to determine if someone is skilled at what they do. What I can say is that Brian Lewis is extremely responsive, easy to work with, doesn't "overtalk" computer speak with excellent interpersonal skills and client service. He fixed the problem that I had on hand, repeatedly indicated that if I had a question to ask and that he has no problem if advice was needed to call no matter how small issue. I have had the need to call him on occasion and he is always prompt and clear with his directions and there is no charge for these quick and easy (to him) questions. Small business owners like Brian are a pleasure to work with, he is extremely responsive, resourceful, not looking to recommend a bundle on a system if not needed and is mindful of budget. Without a doubt, would strongly recommend his services.

Description of Work: Ran network cabling, installed appropriate jacks, etc.

Description of Work: Set up home computer network. 2 laptop computers, 1 desktop computer and a wireless printer.

Description of Work: Older laptop was not receiving WiFi signals. Other computer services I used unable to diagnose problem. Brian saw this as a challenge and fixed the problem

Description of Work: Brian Lewis [owner] responded to my complaint of cooling fans on my Dell laptop computer. He diagnosed the problem, gave me alternatives for buying required parts form sources much less expensive than OEM and allowed me to decide on a course of action. After the cooling fans I ordered arrived, he dropped what he was doing and installed them for me that evening. The next day, after several hours of operation the fans began making noise again. Brian opened the computer again, checked his install and decided the fans I received were defective and I'd need to order them again! When the second set of fans arrived, he was installing them in a matter of two hours ! Did some additional fine tuning to my laptop and Refused to accept any money for extra time a work incurred because of defective parts I got from the parts place. Also did not charge for the Extra fine tuning to the machine!! How refreshing to find an honest, hard working person that Will Not take advantage of you when you get in a jam!
