I originally contacted Steven to provide an estimate to install a gas line for a new stove. While doing the gas line estimate, we noticed that my water heater was leaking. So I asked him for an estimate to replace that as well. He worked up estimates for both projects. I knew my water heater was old and could go any day, so I asked him to schedule a replacement as soon as he could work it into his schedule. This was on a Tuesday. He arrived Saturday morning with a new water heater and began the project. I had originally ordered a 50 gallon water heater, but we discovered the area where the water heater was to go was not wide enough due to the placement of my incoming water line and a furnace humidifier. Steven called his supplier and was able to switch to a 40 gallon unit. It took only about half an hour for him to return with the smaller heater. The installation went smoothly after that and was finished in a timely manner. Steven was knowledgeable about all of the current local and federal plumbing codes. He had arranged for a city inspector to arrive on the day of the installation. All of Steven's work passed the code inspection. However, the inspector found a small violation from the previous installation. Steven went ahead and fixed that without hesitation even though we was not responsible for the violation. Steven explained how to maintain my new heater and showed me how to ignite the pilot light should that need ever arise. He cleaned up the work area and asked me to inspect the area to be sure it was cleaned to my satisfaction. Steven didn't mind that I was hanging around to watch him work and ask questions. Steven arrived on time the day after a snowstorm hit the city. He laid down a cover on my hardwood floors so he wouldn't drag in snow and salt as he went in and out of the house. He was extremely professional and made sure everything was in great working order before he left. I would definitely hire him again, especially if my water heater or water softener needs attention.

Overall I thought it went well. I wished it was complete. By complete I mean that I wished he would have taken care of the drain pipe leading out of the house by hooking up an adaptor and a 25 foot hose to the pipe that leads to the outside of my house. Now I have run to menards and get this figured out. The pipe that leads out of my house is not threaded and I can't simply screw in the adaptor that comes with the hose. When I pay for a job I don't expect that I need to have to chase around and finish it. With this being said he did a nice job setting up the pump. Its very neat and orderly. I would hire Steve again, but this time I would do a walk thru with him to make sure that your both on the same page as it relates to your expectations.

I called him midmorning, he was there by midafternoon. He told me the brand and type of water heater he recommended, and gave me an accurate estimate over the phone. Cost was a little more than I expected, but the work was done well and professionally. He's good with tips and suggestions, and is courteous and focused on the job. He came with all parts, fixtures, and tools needed. A straight ahead, experienced journeyman plumber, licensed and bonded. He won't leave you wondering if the job was done correctly.

I called for information on getting our water heater replaced. He was tied up this day on another job, but made an appointment to come take a look later that day. While on the phone he told me what to do to make sure I wouldn't cause any more water to leak... We ended up going with another company because my wife is nine months pregnant and we didn't want to be without hot water any longer than we had to. When I called him back to let him know we wouldn't need him to come by anymore he was completely courteous and professional about it. He seemed like a very nice and professional guy - as his other angieslist reports suggest. I'm sorry it didn't work out, but time was an issue for us and he just happened to be tied up on this particular day.

Steven was at our home on time and completed job in a timely fashion. He was fun to talk to and gave us some good tips. He was very personable, very friendly. He also went the extra mile and did a little work on the stool.

Steven was terrific through out the whole experience. There was only a small problem with having to push back the original appointment but to have him do the job was well worth the wait. Steven was very professional though out the entire job. The water line to the fridge needed to go over 30 feet and go through a finished basement. Steven had to fish the line itself through a very tight patch of duct work just to get it 2 fit in 2 different spaces and was able to the entire job with out even noticing the copper line itself. His price was terrific and there is a peace of mind knowing that you can use some one who is both bonded and insured. He was very clean and personable. I will not hesitate to bring him back in when I want to have my water softener installed.

We were pleased. He made an appointment. He came when he said he would. He had a reasonable rate.

I called Stephen on a Saturday to request repair to broken cold-water faucet in laundry room and to work on a plugged toilet. He answered his phone personally, even though he was vacationing, and scheduled work to be done first thing Monday morning. He also offered names of other plumbers if this needed to be done b/f his return. I waited for him. He arrived promptly as scheduled and fixed the problems. Since there was time in his schedule, he fixed two other plumbing concerns while present. Stephen was very professional. I also appreciated that everything he needed was on his truck so he did not have to spend "extra" time running to get parts, etc. as other companies have done in the past. This saved us money in time and labor costs! Stephen has replaced two toilets and attended to other plumbing concerns at a rental unit we own. We have found him to be very reliable, helpful, and honest.
