Montgomery's Quality Painting

The exterior of my CBS home was in really rough shape due to the passage of time and overall lack of upkeep, with the old paint sagging and sloughing off, large rust-stained areas, and a lot of mold showing. Jim pressure-cleaned and bleached it all off, and repaired about a dozen holes in the stucco of varying sizes. Jim also did some work on repairing some fascia board that needed to be cleaned up, dressed and patched before painting. He applied elastomeric patching compound to all the cracks, sealed the walls with masonry sealer, then applied two coats of Benjamin Moore to the walls, and one coat to trim, gutters, ceilings and doors, after first priming them. I am very happy with the transformation Jim wrought over my sad-looking house, it looks really great now! And I know that with all the skill and high-quality materials Jim employed in making it happen, it will continue to look great for a long time to come. Before he began work on the house exterior, I asked Jim to go ahead and pressure clean the roof, since the tile barrel roof was starting to look dingy -- afterward it looked cleaner and brighter than I had ever seen it before. Great job!

The house was inspected before being painted, and James pointed out some work I should consider having done before he painted- that was a big help. Much time and care were taken to do a very thorough and detailed job. The interior paint job was perfect .Extensive patch work was done. .I had a baseboard color change. Much care was taken to protect the carpet and furnishings.

Jim Montgomery has done painting, drywall repair and pressure cleaning for me for about 15 years. He is very professional, reliable and trustworthy. The house needed extensive prep work due to the prior removal of hurricane shutters which left many holes above and below the windows. Jim did a meticulous job, and my 50 year-old house looks brand new. I was happy to learn that Jim also does interior painting. I will definitely call him for my next project.

Jim did an excellent job painting our house. He does all the work himself and pays attention to details. His preparation work including filling cracks, caulking, fascia repair, priming, etc. was very thorough. He is extremely easy to work with and we are very happy with the final results.

Exactly as the name of the company suggests, you get Jim Montgomery doing high quality painting. He works by himself, does very high quality work and does exactly what he says he will do. He shows up on time. He finishes on schedule. He does quality prep work to make sure the job is done right. For our dock, he even added a nonskid surface that he was not required to do in the quote. He brings a wealth of knowledge about painting. The bottom line is that he has the experience to do your painting job the right way so you are happy with a long lasting result.

The work was exceptional. The owner does all of the work by himself and is very detail oriented on his prep work and actual paint work. He was very responsive to any concerns that we had. He did everything he said he was going to do from the initial estimate and in my opinion went above and beyond his scope of services on several things. He arrived for work every day early in the morning and even tried to work through some bad weather. He was extremely professional and communicated exactly what he was doing every step of the way. He will be returning in the near future to do some drywall repair work on the interior of our home.

Excellent. Mr. Montgomery has an eye for paint colors unlike any painter I've ever met. He immediately called my attention to the fact that one of the colors for the touch-up work was not correct. The colors were so close I wouldn't have noticed this until after the paint had dried. He's diligent, tidy, cleans up afterwards. He removes loose paint and repairs stucco blemishes before he paints outdoors. His rates are very reasonable. He's conscientious and highly skilled, and his work shows the quality of his work. In addition, he's an exceptionally honest person. One time, I erroneously overpaid him in cash. He promptly pointed it out and returned the excess to me. He coordinated his work the the installation of new gutters and downspouts, so keeping on schedule was important. He kept all appointments, showed up to work when he said he would, and delivered the job done to our complete satisfaction on schedule. He also worked with us to obtain the information necessary to obtain prior approval from our homeowners' association. The cost shown below was for pressure cleaning walls & trim, sealing walls with chalk bond sealer, repairing cracks with elastomeric patching compound, caulking where needed, priming trim & applying 1 finish on trim, and applying 1 coat of Duration satin finish on stucco exterior walls. (The other, smaller jobs were billed separately.) The house is 3200 sq. ft under air. It's 1 story but has sections with 2-story ceilings.

Jim had done the painting on the interior of my home and I hired him again to do the exterior painting. Once again, I got a perfect, professional job. Jim Montgomery is a meticulous painter. No drips, splatters or mess left behind. His work ethic and kindness shows in what he does. I highly recommend Jim for your next painting, or pressure washing job. He is really the best.

James Montgomery is a precise, professional painter. His work ethic and integrity are beyond reproach. His prices are very comparable to other painters in this area. He was always on time, communicated his work plans, and left everything clean at the end of each day. Excellent! Jim checks off all things that we look for: licensed and insured (very important for peace of mind, and if you hope to see the workers again); great workmanship that he takes pride in; communicates his appointment times and expected arrival; neat and clean workmanship. And, he is good to deal with! Our driveway is old, but we maintain it frequently. After Jim Montgomery's seal coating, it looks good. The house was painted quite a while back, but gentle pressure cleaning from time-to-time keeps it looking pretty good.

The shingles look like new! Jim is extremely neat and orderly in his work. After thoroughly cleaning the shingles, he rinsed down our house, driveway, and awnings to remove any trace of the dirt he cleaned off the roof. He also rinsed down the driveway of our neighbor so that there would be no complaints. What else can I say?

Jim painted our house a year ago and did a great job. We thought we would be able to just do some touch up painting, but after the shutters came off, it was obvious that where the old paint and new paint met some scraping or something needed to be done. Jim did the pressure cleaning the first day and took care of painting the second day. He actually used a wire brush to remove the loose paint around the windows and then painted over. There was some concern that the original paint had faded and wouldn't match the new. We were lucky, no extra painting was needed. And, you can't even tell where the shutters were!!! James Montgomery is the most professional painter I have ever worked with. He is meticulous in his work, not a drip or splatter anywhere. He is also the cleanest painter I have ever had in my home. He was reasonable in price, accommodating to my schedule and so very polite. I could not recommend a better painter or person.
