Description of Work: Mister Sparky's came to the house because the company was offering an Angie's landscape lighting special for $29.95. Of course at that price you have to figure they were hoping to find things wrong to repair, like a mechanic offering a cheap oil change and hoping to find things wrong to fix once he or she gets under the hood. They did find a few things , but the cost was under $100, and now all the lawn lights work, and that hasn't been the case for months, so I'm happy. Kevin, the owner, worked hard to establish a relationship and answered my questions in a straightforward manner. If I had a big job to do, I'd get several proposals, of course, but I'd definitely include Mister Sparky's. For small stuff, I'd consider just calling them.

Description of Work: I located this company in Angie's List, for my mom who needed some minor electrical work done to fix a patio light, master bedroom light and master bedroom closet light. After speaking with her about her experience am writing this review on her behalf.The return call was done with-in the hour from their office and appointment was quickly scheduled for my moms residence in Delray Beach. The service Technician was polite and efficient, my moms only frustration, was his consistent mentioning of work that she needed to get done. Example that she needed to upgrade her smoke detection unit as she had only replaced the batteries over the years. Her residence is only 10 years old and she hasn't had any issues. The service man was polite, arrived in a timely manner and provided her with quality work. She felt pressured and because of this will be reluctant to use them again. This is minor and feel that as all companies are struggling he has been asked to drum up more business. My husband and I after hearing of their professional service will be using them soon.

Description of Work: I had the company come to remove ceiling fans and install eight high hat lights in the overhang in my pool area. The first thing he did was to point out my exixting electrical panel was declared unsafe and it could be change out for $1,800 plus another $1500 for related work on the exterior of the house. As we moved to the work I really wanted done, he does the a la carte menu, each light was $250 to install $2,000, rather than it will take me about five hours at $150 per hour. I had him change out and electrical bos and add one exterior electric box to use up most of my money paid, I then had a local licensed electrician come to remove the five ceiling fans and install the high hat lights, the work was done for $500 total, Nice salesman, very professional but I wouldnt recommend them and their polished ripoff rates.

Description of Work: Called to have service performed on an electrical problem in the "pump house" area where a breaker kept tripping. Was told that they were changing a breaker but the problem still continues. I've left 3 messages so far. I also have a coupon to schedule for the Lightening Surge Protection with Mr. Sparky. I was originally so happy with them but now it's hard to get them back. I don't have to be here in order for them to change the "breaker" which is incompatible with the others (according to another electrician). I really would like to resolve this issue once and for all, get the surge protection I already paid for and get the original problem taken care of. Thank you!

Description of Work: They offered a service of $ 299 worth of electrical work for $99 but this is not what they give you. In fact what they do is come to your home and say they need to do a work estimate ( even if the work is obvious and simple) then they come back to you with a very high price ( I had already had other electircal estimates for same job) and tell you that in order tot do that work you need to pay - the cost they wanted to charge me was $700 + on top of the coupon I bought from them for $299 of work - so they figured the job was worth $1,000 - to install 3 ouside lights. I had already been quoted less than 1/2 this without a coupon from another reputable electrician. I have asked for my money to be returned - they have agreed to do so. We will see.
