Handyman called early showed up on time. I showed pictures of a representative closet to show what we were expecting. Was quoted a price, I thought it was high, but went ahead and authorized the work for a fixed price (their policy). Handyman took measurements and then called from the Home Depot and asked if I wanted 'white wood', said it would avoid the need to paint. This sounded good and I agreed. Several hours later (Home Depot is 10 mins from house) handyman arrives and explains they didn't have precut sheets to meet our shelf sizes. So he bought large sheets and would cut them to size. As installation of the of the supports started, he shows me where he has tried to screw the 1"x2" to the wall and the wood has split. No offer to replace, says he'll use finishing nails on the rest and caulk the split wood. In hindsight, I should have thrown him out at this point. He continues with work, having problems find studs and then starts bringing in cut shelves and telling me that the walls aren't square. As he wraps up, not all the shelves are sitting flush on supports ( the walls fault). and because he had to cut the melamine wood (which I wasn't aware was what he meant by 'white wood') there is the unfinished edge showing. He tells me the shelves are level and he'll caulk the gaps. The material he bought to cover the unfinished edges ( which I paid for and haven't seen) he tells me is not going to work, and that I should just have the edges painted. At this point I just want him out of my house (the work sucked and he smells like cigarettes). I paid the bill in full. I've sent this review and pics to the company and have not received a response. I ended up buy wood molding and finishing up the job myself.

My Handy Craftsman (a.k.a. Michael Hale) and his crew did a fabulous job of painting, minor electrical and floor installation in a condo we recently purchased. They were professional, prompt, and delivered everything as promised. Not a single neighbor complained, and they left the place clean as a whistle. Not only that -- they finished ahead of schedule and slightly under budget. Along the way, Michael remarked, "Nice guys don't always finish last." Here's a 'nice guy' who finished First in my book. Highly recommended.

Michael Hale and his Handy Craftsmen once again rode to the rescue. I own a rental property that needed repainting in anticipation of a new tenant -- on a tight schedule. My Handy Craftsman was in and out in a flash -- two days at most. Once again right on budget. The place looked like new when they had finished. Except for how clean and fresh it looked, you would never know a painter had been there. Everything was meticulously clean. Thanks again, you Handy Craftsmen. You are my Go-To Guys.

My husband contacted them to see if they could do some minor stucco and drywall repair, both of which are listed as services they do on their website. After my husband explained the problem and answered a few questions, the man he was speaking with said they didn't think they were the right people for the job and hung up with no further explanation, right as my husband started asking a question. It's absolutely fine if they were not the right ones for the job or couldn't take it for other reasons, but taking 30 more seconds to say why or answer my husband's question might have saved us a lot of time figuring out who the right people might be. At the very least good customer service is not to hang up on someone while they are speaking!

I don’t know even where to start. I am angry and frustrated by how horrible the customer service is with this company. Just like you, I am interested in such a high rating with an enormous amount of reviews. You think, wow, this has to be a great company. WRONG! When I first called I told them we had a failing shower pain. We are going to have to do an entire bathroom remodel to correct the problem. They told me they wouldn’t send someone out for an estimate until I picked out tile. I thought,ok, weird, but ok. We picked out the tile, I called them back the next business day and they sent Mike out a WEEK later for an estimate. Mike arrived on time, I showed and explained the problem and job that needed to be completed. The way he responded to me was as if I was a dumb housewife, like I didn’t know what I was saying. I bit my tongue because of these outstanding reviews, even though I know I am highly educated person. After he was done, I asked how long to receive the estimate. He said about a day and he will email me. When I didn’t see the email over 24 hours later, I followed up with a phone call just to see how they were doing on the estimate. When I spoke with them on the phone, the guy laughed at me. Laughed and told me that the estimate would take 2 weeks and they weren’t going to complete it on a Friday afternoon. Now, yes, it was Friday that I called but it was Friday at 2. In my head I thought, I am sorry, do you not conduct business on Fridays? Maybe you need to change your service hours on your website. The guy assured me the estimate will be complete and they will get back to me. So I waited...and waited...and waited. I even gave them the courtesy of an extra few days before I called them again. They told me they sent me the estimate via email. I said I did not receive it. He said Mike will call me and we could check my email address. I said ok, sounds reasonable. I missed Mike’s call and he left a voicemail telling me he sent the estimate via email but since it was Friday afternoon (around 2 again) he will call me back Monday. Again, I waited for this call. I decided by noon, I would call them. Left a message and it was finally returned around 3:15pm. Finally, I will get the estimate. NOPE. When the company called he told me the job was too far out for them and the job was too big. What!?! Seriously! Over two weeks for you to tell me this. Are you kidding me!?! When Mike came out to my house, he should have told me that. Not wasted my time. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I live in Oviedo and have had plenty of Winter Park companies come out to my home. I am so dumbfounded. From the run around, to treating me like a dumb housewife, and failing to do anything they promised me, I am truly disappointed. The A rating should seriously be changed. I am still shaking my head in disbelief. Absolutely absurd. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Had so many small jobs that just had to get done - fixing a drawer, a fence latch, re-hanging a curtain rod, securing a faux beam, and fixing the water line to a toiled.

Was a pleasure to deal with. Bob came out on time exactly. Made an estimate which I thought was very reasonable. When I accepted he started work immediately. The quality of the work was excellent you can't tell it was repaired. Will definitely use again.

The guys were great and knocked out the whole project in a day. They were flexible when our delivery was delayed and were great to work with.

Our interior doors are nonstandard so they needed to be measured and cut precisely. He did an excellent job with both. It didn't hurt that he was a fine gentleman, the kind you like after some brief conversation. He showed me the receipts. I saved time and money by buying my own doors, but he would have done so as part of his hourly rate without upcharging for materials. These guys have a 3 hour minimum on their hourly rate so make sure you have a big item or enough small ones to fill the time.

Excellent. Bob did a great job from start to finish. We will definitely be calling on him for any future work.

Micheal was late to the appointment due to traffic. Fortunately, in this case, I was also running late from a previous appointment, so it worked out well schedule-wise. However, the entire time I was explaining what we needed, Micheal just seemed to want to leave. I feel like he mailed in the "not doing this" attitude very early on and was simply going through the motions. We talked about work requiring a lift, holes to be filled, rotted wood (including a leaking section of roof) that needed to be diagnosed and replaced, a damaged gutter section that needed repair and replacement, and even a possible replacement/update of the entire front fascia of the house. A week or so after Michael left, I received a short, three sentence E-mail reading: "We are going to decline to offer a proposal for the repairs at your residence. There's very little work us to do and a lot of logistical issues. Thank you for contacting us." Frankly, I think that's a severe cop-out. I'm not going to rate an "F" because he did come out, and he at least sent a follow-up Email, but to decline a job without even bidding the customer, and with a reason that illustrates he either doesn't know what he's talking about, or does and simply doesn't want to do it, is a little insulting to everyone involved. It's *not* a small job by any means, and even if it were, a much better attitude would go a long way.

We had used this provider several times in the past, even leaving positive reviews. Recently, they were exceptionally rude in scheduling, getting projects done, etc. Bob the handyman is excellent, but the owner has a very poor attitude, and it seems recently they can not be bothered to help, and are rude in telling you as much.

It went very well. The installer helped me with designing with existing tile already purchased and it turned out great. As a side note Home Depot blew me off when I tried to get them to bid the job. My Handy Craftsman was the third party I contacted about this job. They were very professional and were not allergic to work. I will definitely use them again when I have a project to large for me to tackle.

The positive first; the work they did was done quickly - they got me in during a busy month which I appreciated. I had my tub replaced, new tiling installed and replaced the hardware (faucet, etc). Unfortunately, the installation left the tub faucet really loose to the point that any pressure sideways would snap it off. Additionally, the grout has cracked in several places, and while I was told by the owner of this company over the phone that that is "normal", I've researched this and have found many professionals say that most of the time this is due to too much water or polymer additive being applied. Yet instead of sending someone out to deal with it, I was brushed off. I have contacted the company several times over the past few months, even sending them a video of the problem and they have not gotten back to me or sent anyone out. I hate to give anyone a bad review, but to me that's definitely a lack of professionalism. They should stand behind their work and make sure that their customers are satisfied, and most of all, take responsibility for the work of their handymen.

This is the second time we have used this service and we have future jobs planned. Mark was our craftsman on this job and we very much appreciated his professionalism and the quality of the work he does. This is a top notch company and we look forward to using them in the future. Our master bath is beautiful! All new fixtures were added as well as tile and flooring and lighting. We felt that the cost was reasonable and worth every bit. Thanx for a great job!!

Great - professional job on the install.

Very well. We ended up only repairing the rotten siding with a fiberglass material rather than replacing the entire board, but it looks good and matches the old siding very closely. The sealed off gable is serving its purpose-- no more raccoons! and the sink is no longer leaking

I first spoke to Jeff who I believe is the owner of the company. I needed someone quickly that could come to my condo and redo a floor that was incorrectly installed by a previous "handyman". The floors had to be taken up ( click and lock tiles). Jeff was easy to work with and sent over a worker a few days later. The original estimate was $1,900 and they began work immediately. The second day I was advised by the worker that another worker would be needed to finish the floor on time so I agreed. The estimate was then bumped to $3,400. Even with two men instead of one, they went 5 days past their end date. Then I was told that putting the new baseboards back in would cost me an additional $1,000 + charge even though that was part of the initial discussion and should have been included in the estimate. I didn't find out about this additional charge until day 5. I ended up spending an entire evening painting all of the baseboards myself since the worker wanted to install them first and then asked me to hire a painter to come in and paint them afterwards! what?? You should always paint the baseboards first before installing them. I was then told that an extra $400 would be charged to install two pre-assembled vanities although I thought that was already part of the overall price since I had mentioned it from day one. I had to basically call the owner and say that since I am being charged on "per hour" basis and not a "project" basis that I am worried that I am going to end up with a $10,000 bill for a 1,000 sq. ft. condo. We negotiated and we agreed on a set price of $6,100 to finish the job. Had I not called it would have easily been $10,000 +. It was all very confusing even though it didn't have to be. Poor communication and bad estimates Overall I felt like there wasn't much consideration in regards to time and cost. I felt like one of the workers was much slower than he other and, therefore, ended up dragging the project out. The floor turned out ok but both vanities have water leaks. One vanity had the handles installed backwards. One vanity has a chunk of wood broken but that was never told to me when it happened. The worker also told me that he would reinstall one closet door that he had removed but he did not. The two toilets were installed with 4" + screws that I had to later buy bolt cutters to trim down. He also told me that he would install two new closet doors (18" x 80" ) for an additional fee but said he wasn't going to, right before he left on his last day. So now I am having to find another person to do that. I don't know. One would think for that amount of money that the customer service and attention to detail would be better. I did not mention to he owner who seems like a very nice gentleman) about how the project finished. I was just happy for it to be over. I'm sure that this company has some very talented workers but I just happened to not have the best one for my project. Would be great if Jeff would review each estimate with each customer to ensure the pricing is right and there is a CLEAR understanding as to what the project entails. No one likes surprises in these types of situations.

They did a really high quality work with the drywall and the ceiling repair. Everything was blended in perfectly and you would never know that we had knocked part of the wall out. They also creatively built the wooden step/trim.

We had a long list of stuff, so he was at our house all day. My husband has high standards for quality and thought his work was excellent. I would definitely recommend this company,

Never got a call back for work needed in FLORIDA.

It went great. He arrived right on time and gave me a very reasonable estimate. 3 hours later, all done. Will absolutely use again.
