A Snoop Inspection

He stole 150.00 from me. Did the inspection. Never gave me paperwork. Had to call other company. When I called him. He yelled at me and called me names. Horrible company

We thought he did a great job at first. Shortly after moving into our house we found out otherwise. The roof was far from being up to code, The electrical on the AC was very bad and huge safety issue. The disconnect was even bypassed for the AC. We had our sewer lines back up into our house. 35k later we were able to address all these issues. When we contacted Jay, we never so much as heard a peep back. Dodging calls and emails. My realtor refuses to use Jay and you should too.

This guy was ON TIME, matter of fact, he beat me there and had already started his inspection. He was pleasant and informed me of everything as he went through the house. He gave advise on certain things, like upgrading the electrical sockets if I buy. He went through every inch of that house. He gave me a preview of what the report would look like and promise me it will be emailed to me on Friday. To my surprise, he got it to me on Thursday. I did not buy the house and it was because of the finding that Brian found. Thank You!! I just found another house that I'm interested in and I will be calling Snoop again for this one.

Terribly. We hired Jay to come and inspect a home that we were in the process of purchasing. It was raining the day of the inspection, so the inspector came back and did the roof a different day. I wish we had hired someone else. They had missed MAJOR leaks that were visible from the attic access. My husband and I have not been in the home for 6 months, our ceilings have collapsed and are in the process of getting a new roof. Jay should have put that the roof need a immediate replacement. His response to me was "if I said that on any old roof, no one would buy a home." I told Jay we hired him to notify us of problems in the home and that a new roof would have been negotiated into the price. He said he would pay for our ceiling repair, but never followed up with the offer in writing as I asked. He will not return our phone calls. In all fairness, if we had known about the roof, we would have negotiated a new roof into the price of the home as we did with all other repairs we felt were necessary. Jay and his crew failed to spot the cold patch on the roof above one of the major leaks and did not notice the powder mold on the underside of the roof. We have given Jay the opportunity to make this right, and now he will not respond. Do NOT use this home inspector- he is not working for you, but apparently working to get you to buy the house. He did not do us any favors.

I scheduled the home inspection for 1:00. They put it in their calendar wrong so they showed up at the house at 10:00am. Instead of calling me, or the realtor since we weren't there they started the outside part of the inspection. The home owners were home at the time and upset because they thought it was supposed to be at 1:00 that day. When I found out I called the company and told them that they needed to stop the inspection and come back at 1:00 when we had scheduled. They were very annoyed that I asked this. They came back and 1:00 and complained to both me and the realtor that they had to stop the job and start again. When we moved into the house a week later we found that 3 of the fans don't work, the hose outside for the pool doesn't get water into it, many of the electrical outlets don't work, etc, etc. None of the items were listed in the inspection as being faulty. I was very disappointed.

He came out when he said, and was nice. However, I had to leave because some guys were working on the air conditioner at my other house. I asked for a copy of the inspection, but it was sent to the realtor. I had to wait a few months for him to send it to me. In the inspection it send I had a plump leak at the pool, but the pool guy couldn't find that. It also indicated the hooded vent over the stove, the fan switch and light switch didn't work, but I tested it and both work. Also, the big tub in the master bath, he said there was no access to the pump in case it needed servicing or repair, but I didn't have any trouble removing the magnetized door. He said the water heater was probably bad due to the smell in the water ... but after letting it run for a few minutes, it hasn't been a problem since, and was probably just because the house had been setting. Then there were things he missed. I don't know if he was new or in a hurry, but he said a lot of things needed to be fixed that were fine. He wasn't there for that long, either, which couldn't have been part of the problem.

Inspector didnot comment on several plumbing issues. Master bath tub shower would not turn off, when water turned on showe came on. sink in second bathroom leaked, toilet in second bathroom rocked and water ran intermittently. These issues, although very annoying, were easily fixed (to the tune of $450), the real issue was the septic system which he didnot commen on at all. He also didnot identify broken cabinets in the kitchen. The door on microwave is broken and this was not mentioned.The pool pump was not mentioned also and it has to be replaced immediately. The first quote on the septic system is $25,000. I would not recommend these people to anyone.

On time and waited around when sales agent didn't show up. On time, very professional and friendly.

This inspection was for a home purchase. Ian was our inspector and he did an excellent and thorough job. He spent approximately 3 hours conducting the inspection and then went through all his findings with my husband and I. Some items were minor fixes, while others were great 'heads up' about how we could improve the home. No detail was spared. He told us the full report would be emailed within 2 business days, and we promptly received it the very next evening. My only (minor) complaint was the price, they were a tad higher than our previous inspector ($40 difference), but considering all the other quotes we received (some over $600), we still felt this was in the right ballpark price-wise. We've used another inspector in the past, but we were very pleased with A Snoop and would use them again.

Took multiple phone calls over 3 days to get the inspection report. Not prompt! The overall report was very thorough, so they are good.

Snoop Inspection did a fantastic job and were able to squeeze us in a short window timeframe. We found a home which we put an offer on however our original inspector was too busy so we turned to Angie's list and found Snoop. They showed up on time, were very knowledgable and offered a lot of useful advice which allowed us to make the right decisions. They were reasonably priced and would certainly recommend them to anyone as a reputable source for home inspection.

Ian arrived on time, was courteous and professional. Jay stopped by long after to offer any additional assistance and see if I had any other questions. Jay offered advise about plans of renovation. Report came back in a timely manner. I am very pleased with the service received and would definitely recommend Snoop Inspections.

The inspector was very thorough and addressed all of our questions and concerns.

They never mentioned that the property has a active septic tank....I think that's something major to miss!

This was my second time that I used Jay Smith for home inspection services, and I am equally as impressed as the first. Jay has a profound understanding of potential issues that a used home may have. Jay was professional and answered all of my questions. Jay provided me tips on extending the longevity of my home and it's intricacies. It was also readily apparent that Jay took pride in his work product, and based on the inspection done at my home today, I feel very confident that I understand the of my home in its entirety. I would recommend Jay and his company to anyone who needs a house inspected.

It was a very good experience. He was very professional, and he knows his work. He spent an adequate amount of time on the inspection, and he took the time to explain everything to me.

Provider (Jay) was early for appointment and had most of the inspection done when we arrived. He was very professional and thorough and took the time to show us areas of concern so,we understood what was good and what needed repair. He went into the attic in 95 degree heat and found a large squirrel nest around the fireplace flue that could have caught fire in the future if we used the fireplace! He told us when the report would be done and it was done on time. We would definitely recommend him to anyone needng a home inspection.

He walked me through the house as he did the home inspection. Was very through explaining what could go wrong in the future including preventatives. He was very through in explaining what I would need to do to repair certain things. He took photos along the way to include in the report. Highly recommend him

Jay and Ian were very thorough and I was pleased with their service. Jay is very knowledgeable about homes and when we discovered an issue, he was able to provide a detailed explanation on how to fix the issue.

Excellent inspector and as they inspect , they keep you posted about all the things that are going on. The inspection report that they send you inemail is very good. It sates the problem and provide suggestions to fix it. Highly recommended.

When we arrived at the house we were buying, they were already up on the roof inspecting it. A Snoop Inspection did a great job. They were very thorough going over every inch of the house. They found a small problem with the tile on the kitchen floor which resulted in the owner giving us some money that was credited to our purchase price which more than paid for the price of the house inspection. They took the time to go over the report with us and we found them to be very knowledgeable, professional and pleasant. Jay was great! His response was prompt and he was very thorough. We felt like we had known him forever as he went through the house and gave us his expertise. We had total trust in him that he knew his business. We respected his final opinion in the decision we made to buy the home and in fact recommended him to the buyers of OUR home which also were very pleased with his professionalism and knowledge. Jay came out to the home I was interested in buying to do a 4 point inspection, wind mitigation, roof and even the pool and pool cage. He was very prompt, he was here and working before I even arrived, He was very thorough, catching even the smallest things I would never have noticed. The inspection report I received was very thorough with pictures and explanations. His inspection gave me the information I needed to not pay more for the home than it was really worth. I did buy the home and all his work is so appreciated as I now am able to start fixing the problems he found with the home. I would highly recommend Jay to anyone looking to buy a home. His work is thorough, his inspection report is complete...it contained everything my mortgage lender needed. The wind mitigation helped to save on my home insurance as well.
