Moran Insulation is a family owned and operated full service insulation contractor that performs all work with its own employees and guarantees complete customer satisfaction.
I found Moran Insulation to be punctual and responsive. They arrived on time and did the job in 1 day. However, because we didn't have a ceiling in the house yet it dripped a huge mess of foam all over the place. I called that evening and the next day a crew was back out to clean up. They did clean some, but I still had to hire another person to clean the mess completely. I suggest that if you have spray foam insulation put it in your attic wait until your ceiling is in. Otherwise it's going to drip foam all over the floor, construction materials, and tools that are in the house.

***UPDATE*** After finding more damage from initial install and lack of response on the additional damage, I had to change the rating down. Crushed vents where I could not see them until I gained access myself just pushed my first review down. Entire job had to be re-do twice (compliments on admiting it and re-doing) but there is so much overspray, ioverall mess, oil stains on the drive-way and now additional damage already mentioned, I could not leave initial review as is. ***INITIAL***The first install did not go well. Due to a spray gun system that had seen it's last days, there was excessive effervescence from the spray which ended up everywhere in the house. Also due to this issue, the mix of the SPF created a very strong oder that took weeks to clear out of the house, and I think accentuated the under spraying of the foam. The crew that took the old insulation out did ok but also created their own mess. While the crew offered to continue working on the clean up, after a couple of days I was ready for the crew to be gone. Monitoring the performance of the SPF install (monitoring temperature of the attic vs temperature of the interior), as well as frequency of the AC running, I knew that something was wrong as the performance was not meeting expectations. Consulting with a friend how has been in the business for over 20 years in another state, he suggested I measure the thickness of the foam on the underside of the roof. Sure enough, it had not been installed to the contracted (and required) thickness of 5.5". It was anywhere from 2 to 3 inches. So vs. R-19+, my attic now had around R-11. The good news, and the reason why they still got relatively high ratings, is they were very responsive to this problem and set up a time to come out and they completely resprayed the attic (no additional charge). They were using a new spray guns system the second time and the effervescence AND the smell were negligiable, which leads me to believe the first install issues were due to defective equipment. I would still recommend Moran, and would encourage anyone to have this method of home energy efficiency improvements to be done. Many times the quality of a company is how they address problems and when something goes wrong. With Moran, they were excellent in this area and were committed to getting it right. There are a lot of fly by night companies that are trying to get into this growly popular business that do not know what they are doing so buyer beward and do your research. My advice for anyone doing this SPF process, do a walk through inspection with any contractor is done, have a piece of wire marked in inches to measure the install depth, and do your own quality control. Moran is not one of those companies and as they do know what they are doing and by experience stands behind their work.
Description of Work: I have a 4000 SF home and had them create a closed vented attic by coatint the underside of the roof decking and inside the attic soffits. I know this to dramatically reduce the electrical usage by reducing AC cycling. Since the first install (I explain below) was not done properly, it was hard to see the efficiciency gains on the June bill from the May install. However, June in Florida was hot, hot and my wife (who I think is part Eskimo) kept the home freezing all the time. When the bill came, it was only $20 more than the same periiod last year, and the month prior this year. So, I think it had a positive energy reduction impact. Now I have a solar system and will not be able to compare apples to apples as the energy savings will now be masked by the solar system which is creating supplemental electricity.

The installation crew showed up right on time, and finished the whole attic before it was time for me to go to work! Nice guys that did their best to keep the house clean. Some smudges were left on the attic access door, but nothing that a Magic Eraser couldn't take care of.

After getting estimates from several companies I selected Moran Insulation because of the detailed process they used to evaluate my home and explaining exactly what they would do and what I would expect of the finished job. This company actually was the highest bid of all companies submitting proposals. Their professionalism and attention to detail convinced me that, even though their price was high, I would receive the service I needed. They arrived on the day and time promised and actually finished the job earlier than expected
Description of Work: Remove all blown in insulation in the attic of my two story home and replace with open cell spray foam insulation.
