Excellent work, did work very fast but excellent quality of work. All employees were very nice and helpful. Great company. I have used this company on several other projects before and you can depend on them to do the job with high quality of work, in a timely manner. Always come when they say they are. Very organized in having the materials the project needed.

Removed a prefab fixture from my property. Did a really good clean up job and no damage to other areas at all very pleased.

Jonathan of Oak Tree Building has been very professional and responsive during the preliminary work of getting an estimate developing a plan for construction and getting permits. He has arrived for every meeting right on time. Work should begin the week of Feb 8th.

Prompt response for estimate. Were delayed in starting due rain impact on their schedule. They kept me informed on all changes and new schedule. Siding replacement with Hardy board took a little over a day. I was to do the caulking, priming and painting of the new siding and trim pieces. Because of their rain delay schedule impact, I encountered some family conflicts that delayed my painting which delayed their final step of reinstalling the long (30') section of rain gutter. Oak tree worked with me and completed the entire job before invoicing me. Very good company with good workers.

I had called about two weeks ago for a roof estimate. I called the number listed on Angie's List. It took over a week but the assistant did return my call and left a message. She said that she apologized but the company was too busy to come to my area and give me an estimate of work. She explained they had four jobs lined up but perhaps after the first of the year they might be able to come and give an estimate. I would have preferred a quicker response time, as I did wait over a week. I am guessing they do not check that phone's voicemail often. The assistant was very polite and did say she would like the work if I could wait. I graded above average and docked points mostly for response time.

We contacted Oak Tree and set an appointment with Mr. Hathaway to come out and look at the house. It was very important to me that the contractor showed up on time as I am from out of town and working remote to be able to meet. Mr. Hathaway showed up on time (only one that did). He measured, listened to what we wanted and made suggestions as well. Several weeks later we received the most thorough estimate of any we received. I was so surprised that he remembered every little detail that I requested. He also added things that I didn't think of. ...so that began our journey. We added 2 bedroom and a bathroom across the back, went from a flat roof to a hip aluminum roof, remodel the remainder- I mean like a total tear out and remodel :-). Through the process we meet with Mr. Hathaway several times..mostly over the weekend as we had to come from out of town. He was always on time! The work: 1.Is totally amazing 2. Great quality 3. Attention to details 4. Mr. Hathaway ensures perfection. The house is beautiful. Every time we walk in we have to say how wonderful it is and what a great job they did. At the end of the project we decided we wanted to paver the drive and the back. You'd think they would be ready to be done with us, but were so very nice and got the job done quickly. I couldn't be more happy with the professionalism and perfection in the results. One other thing to note ? I changed or added things several times. I would call Carol and tell her my thoughts and we would work it out. She always told me no problem and handled by request promptly. She was a joy to work with and I will miss our weekly talks J.

I finally received a bid for the job after 3 weeks and my third phone call to their office. They never called me back. I did finally reach someone at the office and was told they are very busy. I do understand that but a quick call back after my first phone call to let me know the bids were running 3 to 4 weeks out would have been more professional. I bet they lose a lot of business because people get tired of waiting to hear from them and hire someone else. Anyway, once the bid arrived it was a fair price for the job equal to other bids but I gave the job to someone else.

This contractor was easy to work with, dependable, and far surpassed my experience compared to other local contractors.

Came out and assessed. Gave quote Ripped out the wall This is the part that was BAD They did not treat the mold They left the walls with the mold untreated for two months, never called never checked up on the situation. As a result I became very sick, I had eye surgery to remove viruses that had developed, I had developed a pre cancerous lymph node in my jaw resulting in bond loss and a tooth removal from a stud tooth that held a bridge. Many many infections and antibiotics 5 rounds! Finally after many calls, they can back two and a half months later to finish the job. There have been no more leaks and no more mold. The work they did was superb! Meaning the actual labor, sheet rock, tape, float painting and clean up! I will use them again! Ed Hathaway is a superb human bring and so is his team especially Jeff W!

I contacted this contractor for a quote along with 2 others. Oak Tree came in with the middle bid but I liked the plan he had for what we wanted and the suggestions he had for a better building. He and his crew were very professional and did an outstanding job of construction. It was the best construction of any building I have ever seen. They went beyond code requirements such as using 2 x 6 instead of 2 x 4 because he felt the building needed the stability. Their goal was to build a quality building at a reasonable price the way we wanted. They always let us know of any delays and kept us informed of what was going on. They cleaned up every day and after the job was complete. The only problem they had was with the truss company. This company did not deliver the trusses on the date that was promised so it delayed the construction at no fault of Oak Tree. Oak Tree had the nicest contractor, crew, and office staff. It is a quality and outstanding company that provides quality and outstanding construction. If you need construction, I would highly recommend Oak Tree. We will be doing some more projects at our home and will definitely be using Oak Tree.

The work they did was exceptional. I cannot tell that the ceiling was redone at all and the new light is perfectly positioned in the kitchen. The only bad thing was after they left the first day they failed to set up a follow up with me so the work took longer than it should have. This was minor to how fast they were able to get to the job and the work they preformed.

Great work, finished on time and under quote. Allowed me to inspect work anytime with out notifying them. They did not keep me waiting when appointments were made. I will use then again!

We never heard back from him. We contacted him and his assistant said we would have a estimate the following day. Never received it. Called one more time and never heard back.

I found this company on Angie's List. I do not live in the area, so all of our dealings were carried out over the telephone. The company was polite, prompt, and very helpful. They went our of their way to complete this job for me.

Oak Tree completely remodeled my full three baths, including new toilets, vanities, granite counter tops, shower/bathtubs, faucets, etc. Our Master Bath was a complete gut job involving moving the toilets and sinks to new locations. The Master also included a new designed walk-in shower (approx 6' x 6') completely tiled. The job required quite a bit of re-routing plumbing and electrical. Oak Tree was very professional. They completed the job on time and with budget. We would recommend them for you remodeling consideration.

Contractor was very prompt responding for a request for quote. Existing siding is a Masonite composite popular in early 90s and contractor agreed to research availability of concrete composite siding as to a match for appearance, thickness, etc. He came back with an estimate one week later with all justification and detail. Contractor showed up on the day agreed upon and finished in less than a day. Additional work was required replacing a section of backer board, insulation and a small piece of fascia board. Additional cost was very reasonable. The crew that showed up was very experienced, professional, and efficient. All the work they did was done the right way - no short-cuts. I watched much of the job and they were happy to answer any of my questions. No foul language out of the Oak Tree crew at any time either. Perfect site cleanup, too. Best feature of this Oak Tree job is the high quality of the work performed. Check them out.

Great. Where oak tree stands out from the rest of the Panama City contracting crowd is their responsiveness, timeliness, and general professional demeanor. Sadly, that is rare in this town. They were quick and detailed with written, accurate estimates and change orders and freely offered opinions when asked. Timeliness of the work was fantastic. They called when they said they would call and ACTUALLY showed up when they said they would show. Quick and easy fixes to minor issues along the way. Also sadly uncommon for this area. They were not cheap, but not drastically overpriced. When asked about other, future projects they clearly indicated what work they were comfortable performing and suggested others for things either outside their expertise or that would be significantly cheaper through others. The overall quality of the work was acceptable. Certainly not up to full-fledged OCD standards but not at all shoddy, rushed, or slapped together. They did good work and stand behind it. So far, oak tree has stood head and shoulders above the other clowns in this town that have either done work here or bidded jobs or just never called back.

Everything went smoothly with Oak Tree Building. I told them what I needed and they quickly gave me an estimate. So far, they've done quality work and they make sure I'm satisfied. They've been doing quite well.

They returned our call for an estimate promptly. Arrived at time appointed and e-mailed an estimate in a timely manner. We accepted the contract and were given a date they expected to begin. They arrived on the date and time they said they would. Their workmen were polite, professional and workmanship was excellent. We are very pleased with the results and would highly recommend Oak Tree Building to anyone needing any type of construction.

We know that the owner Ed Hathaway does a lot of large projects, and this one has to have been one of his smaller but a somewhat challenging one. A major problem was that we live in Virginia and were only able to be down in PCB for short periods, so tight scheduling was a must. Ed spent a lot of time with us making sure that he understood our needs and desires, and recommended good cultured marble, plumbing, and shower door subcontractors that proved to be good choices. Because of our time constraints we insisted that the start date be fixed well in advance and that the work would proceed as quickly as possible until finished (i.e., no starting and then pulling workers for other jobs!); Ed's office manager Carol assured me that although she knew of other contractors who did that, Ed did not’t! He was even willing to have that put into the contract. Ed started on the agreed start date, and every day the workers returned to put in a full day's work. I was impressed with the way that the work was scheduled so that the demolition, preparation, shower installation, plumbing, shower door installation, etc., all proceed smoothly and seamlessly. Having professionally taught and performed program/project planning and execution, I was impressed! In addition, some things that prospective customers should consider would include: - Perhaps first and foremost, if you want a “quick and dirty” job at a low price – go elsewhere! Ed gave us a fair price considering the quality of the materials and his workmen and subcontractors, but we could have gotten an inferior (not custom) job done for less. Our condo is a rental one and so must withstand a lot of wear and tear, and we expect that we and our guests will enjoy that shower for decades! - Whatever Ed says, he will do (a man of great integrity). I know this not just from my experience, but from hearing it from others whose opinions I value. - Every day the workers were there right on time and always gave us good estimates of when they would be through for that particular day - Ed originally said that the work would probably take 5-7 business days, and he was right on there, needing only the 6th and 7th days to do some final touch-up to ensure that the work was first class. - We took pictures of the work in progress and were impressed with their attention to quality! In so many areas they could have cut corners, but never did – instead they appeared to have done more than would have been required! - His workers and subcontractors all were clean-cut and spoke good English, so communication was never an issue. - Every day at the end of their work the contractors swept and vacuumed up, leaving the place as clean as humanly possible. - The workers were more than courteous, ending almost every sentence with “sir” or “ma’am” and were very receptive to our questions and desires. If you want a first class job and are willing to pay a little extra for it, then Oak Tree deserves your consideration.
