Barnes Fireplace Center

The only reason I have one star is because I could not give zero stars and be able to write a review. This company put a cap on my chimney in July 2016. They had to install it twice because they didn't do it properly the first time. Last Friday the cap flew off of the chimney, taking a chunk out of my stucco, destroying my patio umbrella, but even more seriously I had been sitting on my patio 10 minutes earlier and the cap landed where I had been. I could have been seriously hurt or killed. When I called the company the female answering the phone was rude and refused to send someone out to at least cover the chimney because rain was in the forecast. She told me we would have to do it ourselves. It has been 5 days and there has been no return call by Mr. Barnes nor anyone out to repair the cap. They do shoddy work and do not value the customer at all. We will have to take them to court for the damages since they will not return calls or come fix work that was not properly done.

I am the realtor for a seller of one of my listings. Both the seller and myself have been trying to contact Barnes Fireplace (the seller since Feb 2013) to come out and evaluate/repair an electric fireplace that they installed when the home was built. The home although built in 2010 did not sell until 2011. The owners' used the fireplace the first year they were in the home because it was new. Because we are located in North Florida there really wasn't a need but it was ascetically appealing. They did not use the fireplace the second year until February and realized that it didn't work any longer. The owner called and went to the business but they kept insisting that it just needed re-setting and that he must be doing something wrong (rude). He called several times after that (a total of 6) and they continued to put him off and advised that they couldn't give him a repair date but would call when they were able to set up the service (thus the reason for all the addt'l calls). They never showed or called. When the owner notified me, I called and have called a total of three times with the last call being made today (9/5/13) when I actually spoke to the owner of the business and still got less than satisfactory results. Again I asked for an appt to be made to evaluate the fireplace - she stated that only the repairmen schedule their appts and she could only take a number (this is a horrible business practice if that's how she runs it) and she made no excuses. I advised that I had a general contractor tell me that they (Barnes fireplace center) was horrible and he could never get them out - I asked her if that is the reputation that she wanted and she hung up on me. There is no customer service and all the employees, including the owner were extremely rude. Unfortunately there isn't another fireplace repair service in town and they know they have customers "over a barrel".F
