Overall experience was exceptional. Tom was incredibly professional and honest throughout the entire process. His crew installed my fence in one day and was efficient in their work. Couldn't be more impressed with the final product.

While we did provide [Removed Member Name] an estimate for their fence work in April, they did not contract with us to do the actual work. We apologize they had an unpleasant experience with another company. We request Angies List to please review and apply this to the proper company. Thank you.

My neighbor was getting a fence installed, and asked if I wanted to use the same company so that our gates matched. I agreed and had them install the new gate. I noticed once they left that the gate wasn’t closing properly. I called and wasn’t able to get them to come back out to check it. I was finally able to get a hold of them, and had them come out and look at the gate. He told me he will not fix the gate because it was hit with something. It was not hit with anything, and now I am out $781. Had they come out when I originally called, this would not be a problem. I also asked if he could refund 50% of the money paid so that I could hire someone else to fix the problem, and he declined that as well. He also kept trying to get me to look at my neighbors gate to prove that my gate was hit by something, but my neighbors gate has nothing to do with mine.
Description of Work: I had them replace my gate with a new one that matched my neighbors.

Response from TAMPA FENCE
Plain and simple, the gate was damaged beyond repair/adjustment. The property owner called our company out to adjust his gate as he stated that it was not working properly. Upon arriving to his home to make said adjustment we not only saw all the damage to both the gate (tire marks running the full width of the gate at bottom of gate, and a broken bottom hinge, and the gate twisted and a leaning gate post) probably caused by a lawn service mower or rider and the latch mechanism (bent and twisted) but told the owner were here with tool in hand but there is nothing to adjust; the gate is broken beyond repair and needs to be replaced. He became confrontational and loud, I tried to show him his neighbors gate which we also installed the same day as his (approx 6 months ago) and he told me that it did not matter, round and round it went until I told him if he would not look at the neighbors gate and let me show him the differences there was nothing else I could do for him. He then said “If I look at the neighbor’s gate will you fix mine?” I replied “I will work with you, not give you a free gate”. He became more angry shouting I will call someone and complain. After 13 years of serving the Tampa bay area 12 of them with A+ rating on BBB I can not let the company be hijacked by threats of slander via social media, not to mention its just plain wrong. I personally dropped my new I phone 3 days after getting a new one, I picked up the phone and tuned it over… the gut wrenching reality sunk in quick as I could barely see the screen through the shattered glass. Should I have expected a new one for free if I threatened Apple with negative comments about their company? It’s time to take responsibility plain and simple. The Owner stated that he did not personally damage the gate, I told him nor did I, we did not leave you with a product looking like this or you would never have paid the bill this I can assure you.

I made an appointment for 2:00 pm, to get an estimate for vinyl fencing around my yard.It is now 3:45pm and no one has shown up or called so my afternoon has been wasted. There are always unexpected things that can happen but the minimum professional curtesy is a phone call. I will now continue my search for a PROFESSIONAL fencing company. NOT A GOOD MOVE GUYS and certainly not a good way to get or keep customers. I am surprised this company is still on Angies list.

We did not feel valued as a potential customer. Over the phone and in person the representative was friendly. He was quick to come out to see the property. We received an estimate within a couple hours of his visit. However he forgot to bring fence samples like we had requested prior to the service call. At that time, he apologized and promised to drop them off later in the week. He did not deliver on his promise. The following week, I sent an email requesting the samples again. Again he promised to bring them but did not deliver. For two weeks I didn't hear from him. I called and said I thought we had been forgotten. He apologized and said that they had just switched computer programs and that not all the information transferred. Consequently he didn't have copies of the estimates he had sent me via email and asked me to send them back to him for his records. Despite these issues, we were still planning on going with his company. We asked for the necessary paperwork (which was requested by our HOA) and told him that we were hoping to get the proposal before the board by a specific date. He told us he would get the paperwork to us by the given date. Sadly he did not deliver on his promise and we haven't heard from him since. If this is a sample of the company's service, we are not interested. I plan to let my friends know which fence company NOT to call!

A vinyl fence was installed by Tampa Fence, Inc., on my property on Tuesday, June 9, 2009. There were several significant inconsistencies between the fence described in the fully executed Proposal/Contract Agreement and the Itemized Estimate and Sketch incorporated therein, and the fence that was installed on my premises. The Proposal/Contract and the accompanying Tampa Fence brochure that was provided stated that Tampa Fence was to install a 100% virgin vinyl fence manufactured by Structure Vinyl Fence, using posts constructed of polyvinyl chloride with a thickness of .160 inches. The actual fence installed by Tampa Fence was not manufactured by Structure Vinyl Fence and was not made of 100% virgin vinyl. The fence that was installed was manufactured by Exact Products Inc, an entirely different company than was advertised in Tampa Fence's brochure and contracted for. I used a caliper to measure the thickness of the PVC in the various posts installed on my property. I took approximately 40 measurements from 11 different posts. The minimum thickness measured was .130 inches, and the maximum thickness measured was .146 inches. The average thickness of the PVC measured was .137 inches. While this difference may seem insignificant, Tampa Fence's own website states that ?.135 inch thick posts are cheaper because they use less vinyl and they are not as strong. They are inferior and could cause problems for you in the future. Beware of .135 posts, as they are cheaper for a reason. . . .? I was able to access the thickness of the PVC in the fence posts because the installers also failed to glue the fence post caps on to approximately one-half of the fence posts on my property. I contended that I should not be required to pay for a Structure Vinyl Fence made out of 100% virgin vinyl with .160 inch specs, when that is not the product that Tampa Fence installed on my property. I offered one-half the contracted amount. Bob Mancini then showed up on my property with 2 other men at 9am on Monday, June 15, without any prior notice, banged on my front door so hard that it set off the glass break sensors of my alarm system. When the police arrived Bob told them that he was here to "replace" my fence with another fence that was "already on its way from Sarasota, FL" to meet the specifications of the fence that was contractually promised. After the police officers left and Tampa Fence had removed my fence Bob Mancini told me that he had never had any intention of replacing my fence because I was "cukoo" and that I "must be as stupid as I look" if I believed that he ever had any intention of replacing my fence.
