They immediately assessed the sliding door's status and noted the glass door frame was bent (the glass had been replaced several years ago), two screws were missing (that are meant to safely hold the door's glass in place!), and recommended we install a handle on the sliding door to ease its opening and closing. Absolutely HONEST and PROFESSIONAL GENTLEMEN! They are superb team members who genuinely take pride in their workmanship and meeting our needs! Description of Work: Our home's sliding glass door has not worked properly for quite some time. I literally "dropped in" to their office (US 41), yesterday morning, to ask Carol (their OUTSTANDING Office Manager) if they might be able to set up an appointment to have their team come to our home. + -1 moreTwo techs arrived on time, one of whom was the owner of the company. These are large, heavy doors and two persons were probably required to handle them. All four of the pocketing panels must be removed to service the problem door. The owner and his helper were courteous and professional. They tested the sliders, then carefully removed all of the panels. The used a wire brush to clean the entire track, then vacuumed the track. The rollers were replaced on the problem panel. Doors were replaced, tested and adjusted. The doors now open very smoothly with little effort. The owner had fully explained the scope of work, the cause of the problem, and ways to avoid problems in the future. A job well done! I would not hesitate to use this company again, or recommend to others.
Description of Work: One 10 ft high set of pocketed sliding glass door panels were difficult to open and close. I was aware from past experience with such doors that it was probably defective rollers.

+ -1 moreIt was a fantastic process!! We have a 3 panel sliding glass door in our family room that was getting hard to open and made a lot of noise. Turns out only the first panel needed the rollers replaced. The rollers on the other 2 panels were still fine. They did that and cleaned the track and the slider opens very easily!! When I first called, someone actually answered the phone, did not have to leave a message. Carol explained what they did and gave me the pricing, assuming all three panels needed the rollers replaced, and what the pricing would be if the track needed replacing. Set up an appointment for 2 days later, between 8 and 9 am. They were here at 8:15 and were finished in about a half hour. They did what was necessary and the guys were very nice. Highly recommend them!!

+ -1 moreAmazing! Not only were they able to come out the next day, they came out during Hurricane Hermine. They were very professional and quick and even called to let me know how far out they were. My door was not able to open and they took it off the tracks, replaced the parts that were necessary, and cleaned it. It works better now than it has since we lived here. I also appreciated them letting me know about a minor gap that they saw and were not able to adjust due to the wall not being square. Honestly, I would have never noticed it b/c it was so small but I appreciated their attention to detail. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone without hesitation and will be using them in the future should I need a repair. They were fantastic and so easy to work with.

Arriving en masse, his workers swarmed over my doors like bees on a hive, removing rust and corrosion door-by-door with a rapidity and professionalism that was simply astonishing. The group worked like a well-oiled machine, with zero wasted time or effort, and kept me informed of their progress and any issues encountered along the way. They started with my sons bedrooms, and said that while they could not restore the doors to "as-new" condition - the corrosion was far too extensive for this, to the point that the former roller wheels had completely disintegrated into blackened debris - they would repair the doors to install new rollers, which they would cover with a performance guarantee. Considering the decrepit condition the doors appeared to be in, I was a little doubtful, but Abraham soon erased all skepticism and within an hour had my sons' doors rolling with the touch of a finger and locking with ease. The team continued to attack the project with vigor and determination - despite nearly unbearable heat - and had completed all 18 doors before my astonishment had a chance to diminish. I was so impressed with their cleanliness, thoroughness, professionalism, customer-service focus, and skills and abilities that even agreed to do a video testimonial - something I would never consider under ordinary circumstances but in light of the excellent work performed, felt compelled to provide. I cannot adequately express how pleased I was with Sliding Door Roller Replacement from my initial call to the completion of the job. In a world where most companies appear to be out to make a fast buck and move on, Abraham and his company provided a shining example of what a professional company can accomplish. I am profoundly grateful to SDRR, Abraham, Carol, and the entire team for their efforts and accomplishments, and cannot recommend them strongly enough to convey the extent of my appreciation at the work performed and the money saved. Anyone in need of similar services would be foolish to call anyone else but Sliding Door Roller Replacement Inc. - they've proven themselves in the most challenging conditions, and done so in exact accordance with their initial estimates and guarantees. I am absolutely impressed.
Description of Work: My fiancee and I recently purchased a home in the Carrollwood section of Tampa; to say the home is uniquely constructed is an understatement. The original owners / builders incorporated 18 --- yes, that is not a typo, 18 --- sliding doors and pass-through windows in the house design. These doors appear to date back to the original construction, and indeed, many showed the wear and tear - or more specifically, rust, decay and corrosion - one might expect of 30-year-old sliding doors. The doors around the pool appeared to be particularly problematic; apparently, a former pool skimmer used by the owner used to regularly drench these doors with chlorinated water, causing the bottoms of the doors to warp and expand to the point of bursting with gunk and accumulated corrosion. In fact, the seller had installed after-market devices preventing the opening of these doors, either from recognition of their inoperability or to disguise the extent of the problem. Worse yet, when I researched the cost of replacing the doors, I learned that replacing each door in accordance with current building codes would cost between $4,000-$5,000 minimum PER DOOR, presenting me with a potential cost of $40,000 or more to have doors professionally installed, not including likely needed repairs to the door frames, tracks, etc. After recovering from my heart palpitations, I called Sliding Door Roller Replacement Inc. of Lutz, where I spoke with Carol, who is the absolute model of a customer-service professional. Friendly and open to humor, with plenty of knowledge to boot, I informed Carol of my situation. She requested that I send some pictures so that Abraham, the company's owner, could evaluate the problem and determine whether a solution was possible. The problems were so extensive I ended up developing a PowerPoint presentation so I could explain how the doors were arranged and where the most severe issues were --- these were in our sons' bedrooms, where completely inoperable doors not only didn't adequately close or lock, but prevented egress in the event of an emergency, a clear and intolerable fire hazard. At this point, I expected nothing but a "Sorry, but there's nothing we can do" from Sliding Door Roller Replacement Inc., to be followed by an extended ruing of my home purchase. Wow, was I wrong! Within an hour, Carol called me back to inform me that Abraham had declared that he would personally oversee the project and get all my doors back into working order - "They will slide with the touch of a finger," Carol reported Abraham to have vowed. She scheduled the project for the first day after the Fourth of July holiday weekend - sooner than I could've possibly expected - and stayed in contact, finally informing me on the morning of July 5th that Abraham and his entire crew were on the way, and would stay as long as it took to get the job done.

Of course the doors had to be taken off in the middle of the day but the replacement of the rollers on both doors was completed in less than half an hour. The man who managed the job explained exactly what they would do. Both were very nice. The results are amazing! We can move the doors with one finger! There was a possibility that both panel rollers may need to be replaced but the contractor was able to do their work to correct the one single panel that needed to be repaired. They were very upfront with me and I felt very comfortable with their work - very professional and excellent work. Use them again.

They were scheduled to arrive between 4 and 6, and they came at on time at 4:30. They discussed the problems with the door, advised us that the track was borderline, but didn't push us to replace it. They were very quick, taking less than 30 minutes for the repair. The door now works almost like new, despite being 25 years old.
