On the initial visit the technician was prompt (calling about 30 minutes prior to his arrival), professional, courteous and he clearly explained the overall condition of our existing A/C system. He let us know the cost of repairs and the probable life expectancy of the A/C unit. We then asked about new A/C systems. He talked to us about three different air conditioners, their costs, features and benefits. After careful consideration we chose the Bryant Evolution system. He was able to arrange installation for the following day. The next day the Ierna installation team arrived around 9:15 a.m. (again, calling about 20-30 minutes prior to their arrival) and completed the entire job by 4:30. They were extremely professional, competent, and polite. They replaced the air handler unit in the attic and the A/C unit outside. There was no mess at all - they knew exactly what they were doing. Without reservation we recommend Ierna's Heating & Cooling.
Description of Work: A service technician thoroughly looked at our air conditioning system - both the unit outside and the air handler in the attic - and determined the cost to repair the system. At that point we asked about a new system and decided that was preferable to spending a lot of money on our old unit. The very next day an Ierna installation team installed the new Bryant A/C system.

I wanted to share why spending good money for whole-house air filters was such a good decision for us. First, I'm familiar with air purifiers, ionics, etc., and have had a few. None have done for the air in our house what these two units have done. Most purifiers are noisy, limited to one room or several connecting rooms (blocked when you shut doors), and often are expensive for filter replacement. Even though the two REMEs were a bit pricey when I first heard the cost, I quickly calculated the long-term value and it's a no-brainer for the great health benefits for the family. Let me share a few benefits we've already seen in only 3 days: 1 - Fresher smelling air throughout the house (don't need to open windows/doors to air it out). 2 - I'm breathing better (have had trouble with allergies, pollen, etc. recently) 3 - Cooking smells go away quickly in kitchen and diningroom (like bacon for breakfast) 4 - I wiped dust off some black computer printers the day Tod installed the units, and there's no new dust. 5 - The air in our bedroom isn't stagnant and stale at night with the door shut like it used to be. 6 - We're running the fan all the time now and we don't get the blow surges like before, just consistent breathable air Those are the benefits in just the first three days. I'm expecting to not have all the pollen, dust, and germs floating in the air from now on, so I am looking forward to this new fresh breathing environment. Someone sneezed yesterday and my first reaction was yuck, turn away, and my second was let the purifier take care of that and don't worry. So it's already brought us some real peace of mind. I appreciate Tod's presentation of the benefits and value of the unit, and his quick installation. So thanks to Ierna's for this upgrade (and for the two excellent, low-E systems they installed in my house). Davis Varner - Odessa FL
Description of Work: Tod Wright install two Air Knight REMEs for us Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2012, one in each of our two energy efficient AC/heaters (total 2870 s.f. of coverage) that Ierna had installed for us previously, with which we have been extremely pleased.

I am trying to correct all the defects in the heating and AC system as noted by the home inspector when I purchased the home. My niece had used this company to have her system replaced in 2/11. They were a local company and seemed to have a good track record. I called for an estimate and the company sent someone that day. They were able to install the system the following day as they had hired extra crews for summer work. They arrived at the planned time and completed the work in about 4 hours. They obtained the proper building permits and swapped out my air handler, which was defective and leaking. The foreman was meticulous about the fine details of the work, such as making sure the compressor was finely tuned to the right pressure. They did a good job of removal of the old unit and air handler and cleaned up the site at the end of the job. One of the crew also helped me use his ladder to change the air filter. It had not been changed in a very long time. (I will have to purchase a ladder to accomplish this). They wrapped all the supply lines with insulative wrap. The lines are chrisp and sharp. They also had to replace a wooden pad at the bottom of the air handler that was damaged by the leaking of the old unit. I can't wait to see the savings on my electric bill next month. The thermostat works perfectly and I can notice an immediate impact on the effectiveness of the cooling in the home.
Description of Work: I had a new AC and heat pump unit installed. They installed a new 2 1/2 ton Bryant Preferred Heat Pump split system with a new R-410A (Puron). A programmable thermidistat was also included. The system came with a hurricane pad and the unit was securely bolted with hurricane clips. There is a 10 year warranty on parts and the compressor.

They are very good. It wasn't cheap, but they do quality work. Our coils had rusted out, and they presented us with options options with many different price points. While we chose to go with the most expensive, there was no pressure on their part.

They came out for an annual a/c checkup. $29.95 with coupon.Turns out a part was performing poorly, which he had in the truck, and replaced it. That visit was late May.Then on Memorial Day our air went out. They came out the next morning and luckily it was also an inexpensive part. But I was surprised he didn't find it. They didn't charge me for a service call though... Either b/c we get tune-ups each year or just had the come out the week before.Either way I feel the price is decent, the company is organized, and the service techs are professional.

Rob gave us a very professional estimate (high end to low) and broke it all down for us so we could decide what we needed. He didnt push us for the most expensive models-but gave us many to choose from specific for our sq. footage. Install team was professional and respectful of noise since I work from home..cleaned up and explained all the work done before they left.. I was impressed after going through several companies trying to buy a new A/C unit...would recommend them highly.. Kim S, New port richey FL

So far everything is fine. They did a good job, got it done quickly. Their is a bit more noise (I am able to hear the air coming through the vents) associated with the new unit. Unfortunately they weren't able to address that issue, but it is tolerable.

We really liked sales person - low pressure, knowledgeable, showed up on time for appointment. We were told it would take 12 hours labor to complete. They showed up on the scheduled day at 10AM (NOT 8am as promised) - finished at about 9PM. Looked like an "I'm tired, I'm done" completion attitude. It appears we were charged for a thermostat that we did not get. We had a programmable thermostat and a they were going to provide a non-programmable unit. We told them no, but did not receive a credit for the thermostat they took back or the labor to install it. The suggested retail price of a Bryant non-programmable thermostat (T6-NAC, if that was the one they were planning to install) is $340.00, with web prices of $199.95. We were not offered a credit, but feel one is justified. When we inspected the unit in the light the next morning, we found several deficiencies (4): The outside unit was installed in an untidy way that was positioned to cause future damage, the duct work was not properly sealed in the attic, two nails were unintentionally pushed down through my bathroom ceiling, and the unit failed the initial electrical inspection. I asked for the service manager to visit, but the whole company was leaving town on a company cruise (must be nice...). With the sloppy work, I suspected the units were not evacuated correctly and wanted an inspection. Once I met him, I felt that he would not provide an honest assessment. Our paperwork said the inspector would be there one week later, but he showed up the next day and we were "red tagged" and had to call to reschedule within 24 hours so we had to miss work (again). Ierna's blamed the inspector, I really don't know the cause. The inspector told us that the wrong breaker size and cable size were installed and that they would need to be corrected and reinspected. When the service manager returned from his cruise, he did visit, but he was only there to protect his company from having to do more work. He did conceed to repairing the deficiencies as noted and scheduled a return visit for today (6/2) at 3pm. During this last week, I received a call from Ierna's to schedule installation of my new system (an obvious mistake!)...I set them straight, but reminded them that they were scheduled to return to my house today at 3pm. At 3pm today, I called them and asked when they would be there. I received a call from the original installer saying it would be after 5:30. I told him I had been waiting since 3pm and had company coming in from out-of-town at 5:30 so he would need to be there earlier or reschedule. We agreed to a 4:30pm start time. Well... he finally called at 5:45pm and I had to turn him away... We will need to reschedule a return visit, but I can't justify missing work again.... I hope they will be accommodating... We received no interest financing from GE as part of the deal - I will be filing a dispute with them until all deficiencies are corrected. I recommend NOT using these folks - their work is sloppy, the service manager does not seem to really care about quality work - just keeping their costs down, they don't keep appointments, and they did not offer a refund for equipment not installed.

Response from IERNA's Heating & Cooling
We are disappointed to hear that the member’s experience with Ierna’s Heating & Cooling was less than favorable and we wore going to remedy the situation to the best of ability. We hope that she will give us this opportunity to make the adjustments she is requesting. We attempt to meet all time frames given and sometimes this is not possible due to unforeseen issues. The proper installation of an air conditioning system can be lengthy and we make an effort to bring all materials that will be needed to the job site. The install technician for the member was an EPA and NATE certified technician who has a positive reputation for being very diligent on all of his jobs. At the time she purchased her heat pump there was no discussion of a programmable thermostat being installed. Tod, the member’s sales person, had given all of the job details on her invoice and was provided a copy. The thermostats we receive when we purchase the equipment is part of a package deal and are not itemized on the invoice. We do offer a programmable thermostat upgrade but do not offer a discount for the thermostat not being used. The member opted to reinstall her original thermostat. The T6-NAC Bryant thermostat is not compatible with her heat pump system. Our Service Manager Joe Massa received a phone call the day after the install was complete at which time she voiced several concerns. The first was clearance issues; the member felt that the position of the condenser could result in damage to the equipment. The electrical section of the condenser was turned to allow for proper clearances set forth by the manufacture. The state mechanical codes 304.1 and 306.1 refer to the manufactures instructions as the guide lines to follow for proper clearances and service ability. We would be in direct conflict with the manufactures recommended installation clearances if we moved the condenser to her requested setup. The other issues she brought to our attention were scheduled for repair on June 2, 2011, late in the afternoon by Joe Massa during a jobsite visit on May 27, 2011. The work order signed by the member indicated that it would be a late afternoon appointment. She agreed to the appointment and no exact time was given. The member also voiced a concern about the proper evacuation of the copper lines and heat pump system. The technician we sent to her home to install the equipment is certified by the EPA on proper handling techniques of refrigerant and also carries the NATE certification (North American Technician Excellence). There are no indications of a refrigerant problem with the equipment and it cools the home to the desired temperature. We have tried several times to schedule the work to be done for the member and we have had a difficult time reaching her. We would like to resolve these issues as quickly as possible and are willing to be at their residence at a time which is convenient for her. In regards to our work being sloppy or that the service manager doesn’t care are attempts by the member to portray Ierna’s Heating & Cooling in a negative manner. Ierna’s Heating & Cooling has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and have the proper county permits for each and every job.

When I called, I found the woman I spoke to be very courteous and helpful. The cost for the service appeared to be very reasonable. So we scheduled an appointment. Clay was the technician who provided our service. He was courteous, knowledgable, efficient, personable and professional in his demeanor and dress. The service took approximately an hour. While he mentioned and recommended an allergy cleaning unit, there was no pressure to buy anything. The charge for his service was what had been quoted to me earlier. We are very pleased with the service provided and will call Iernia Air and Heating in the future for service.

The service technition came at the scheduled time and was very friendly and courteous. He checked the outside unit and said that everything was in good working order. On the inside, he found that insulation in the air handler unit was loose and in danger of being sucked into the fan motor. He used spray glue to put the insulation back in place. This was not a huge job, but I was pleased that he did it so I didn't have to come back later. I was not charged extra for this and would never have known about it I hadn't had this service call. While not done this time, their standard yearly maintenance includes cleaning both the outside and inside coils to improve efficiency and perhaps life. Also, they pressure clean the drain line. If the line is not clean, water can back up and cause the Heat Pump to stop operating. The charge for the yearly maintence check and tune up would be $150 which was about $70 more than I was paying for yearly maintenance before I moved. But, the company that provided this service did not clean the coils nor pressure clean the drain line. So, next year, I will have to decide if I want this extra service. I could use a hose to clean the outside coils myself. Even though the drain line at my previous home was never pressure flushed, the company did use a wet/dry vacuum to suck water from the drain. I was told that if you simply add about 1/4 cup of bleach to the line every few months, the drain would not plug up which seemed to be the case. My current unit is about 10 years old so is nearly at its end of life. I would certainly get a quote for a replacement system from this company. All in all, I was very pleased with the service I received and with the price I paid. I would call them again for service or for yearly maintenance.
Description of Work: This was listed as a service call but nothing seemed wrong with the Heat Pump. I had purchased this home in December 2010 and just wanted, for starters, someone to evaluate the system and tell me if I needed immediate repairs. Secondly, I wanted to evaluate this company to determine if I wanted them to provide yearly maintenance service. I had received a post card offerering a $49 service call special and the card noted that they were Trane A/C specialists. I think most companies could service any brand, but I thought that someone servicing Trane might have more experience with Trane and that this could lead to a better problem diagnosis and repair if there ever was a problem. Evenually, I will need a new unit and will probably get a Trane since I had one a my previous home as well.

My 12-year-old A/C system bit the dust and had to be replaced. I called around and found Ierna's to offer the most bang for the buck. I called Ierna's for a cost estimate and they were at my house within a few hours with a proposal. After agreeing and signing their proposal, installation started the next morning. Two twenty-something techs arrived promptly at 8:00 AM to replace my system. It took them 11 hours for the complete install and cleanup. The quality of the install and workmanship was excellent. The only gripes I had was that the techs were playing "trash" metal music a bit too loud in the garage and they forgot to relight my gas water heater when they left. I give them an A- for overall service.

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent service with IERNA’s Heating & Cooling. Customer feedback is very important to us as we strive for customer satisfaction and do whatever we can to insure our customers are pleased with our service. In reference to your comment about the techs playing loud music, we agree that it does give the perception of unprofessionalism. I have a contract with them. I have been using them from last year. They installed the system and then put it under a warranty. Then they did some air conditioning type dent work. They were very professional in their work. The price was good. They got the job done when they said they would get it done.
Description of Work: Ierna's heating and Cooling put in a whole new air conditioning E PROM system about 6 months ago.

Ierna's was great...the service tech came out within an hour (on Saturday!) He finished quickly and let me know every step of the way what it was going to cost and what he was doing. Definitely would call them again!!
Description of Work: Ierna's diagnosed the problem, cleared the float valve, dug up and replaced a broken pipe, and checked out the system.

They arrived when they said they would and did a great job. They completed the whole job in one day. Their communication was excellent; they followed with a rebate that no one knew about, after the fact.
Description of Work: They installed a whole new air conditioning unit.
