Description of Work: The provider (Oscar Guzman- the VP of the Company) was scheduled to call on Thursday September 18, 2014 to confirm an appointment to repair a major leak in our roof on Saturday September 20, 2014. We received no call Thursday from him. I called and got his voicemail where I left a detailed message and ask him to please call me - still recieved no call back. Saturday came and no one showed up or called. My husband called the owner Jon Talman Saturday evening and spoke with him regarding the situation. Mr Talman was to call us back after speaking with Mr Guzman - we did get one call back from him but the situation was not resolved, I spoke with Mr Talman on this call and he advised me he again would call Mr Guzman again and contact me back. I never received any further communication. This was extremly unprofessional and terrible customer service.

 + -1 moreOur roof was several years overdue for replacement and John did a great job explaining all the options available to us. With his help, we selected a new roof and they installed it. They kept a close eye on the weather to ensure that they weren't tearing off the old roof only to have it rain. They did an excellent job in cleaning up (have you ever seen how messy a roof replacement is?). Everyone was professional and I was impressed with the fact that they came by after the first rainstorm to check the roof to ensure that there weren't any issues. I would happily recommend them.
Description of Work: Removed old roof and put on a new one.

 + -1 moreThe company was supposed to take all the shingles off and the tar paper - they were to replace everything. I went out to see how the work was going as I took the day off and they weren't doing as we had agreed. I had trouble communicating with the installers which was an issue but one was able to make out what I was saying. They did end up getting the work done as I wanted.

Description of Work: Had some one come out and look at a leak, told me it was not my roof. I asked if he would look in the attic, he said he was not ready to do that, but said he thought it was my chimney. Had another roofing company out, look in the attic for 1 minute found the leak and repaired it that day. It was the roof, could see the leak from garage floor with a flashlight.

 + -1 moreThe squirrels must have been building some very well reinforced nests, because they ate/stole the existing lead boots. Jon replaced the boots, and secured wire mesh around the new ones so they wouldn't be eaten again.
Description of Work: Replaced the lead boots around the roof vent pipes.

 + 0 moreJon did a wonderful job and spent most of the day completing the work. In addition he found that the work ultimately required some additional materials. When we said that we would pay for the materials, he said that he felt that he must stick to his quote and we owed him nothing additional. Even though it was a relatively small cost, it still cost him money that he could have passed on and didn't. It appears that he did an excellent job. We'll see what happens the next time it rains!
Description of Work: Repair a leak around the roof vent and repair the external wooden portion of the chimney.

He spent 45 minutes to an hour examining possible problem areas, suggested that I start with the cheapest possible solution first which did not involve his company and if that didn't work to then go to a repair of possible roof damage. He gave me an estimate for roof repair if necessary and did not charge for the visit. I was very pleased and will use his company for any roof work I need.
Description of Work: Jon Tallman came out within 45 minutes of my call to look at leak. He took pictures of possible problem areas, many of which were cracks in the house and not the roof. He suggested that I fix those areas first as that would not cost much and then if it still leaked, he gave me an estimate for roof repairing a possible roof problem.

 + -1 moreJon Tallman returned my called immediately and was at my house within a few hours of call. He was extremely professional and helpful. Took the time to go on roof to check area even though he felt it was not the roof. I will certainly use again if I have any any roofing problems.
Description of Work: Called Jon after heavy rainstorm left stain on bathroom ceiling. He went on the roof and fixed a nail that was questionable, but felt that the cause was probably from air conditioning "sweating". Did not charge for visit.

Did the job very quickly and provided an assessment of the rest of the roof, without trying to sell me a roof. Will probably call him back in a couple years when it is time to replace. Would highly recommend to anyone needing repairs.
Description of Work: Replacement/repair of 40-50 sq. ft. of shingles that slipped loose.

 + -1 moreThis was a 10% total satisfaction. It was planed and executed without a hitch. All materials were first delivered and ready for the job in a few hours time. The next day the roofers showed up and did not stop working at all. They removed and installed all contracted work in ONE day! My house is 2500 sq.ft. These guys are great and I highly recommend them to all.

 + -1 moreEstimate on Friday before Memorial Day. Roof started and completed on Tuesday. Oscar and his crew are the hardest working and most efficient team I've ever seen. Removed improperly installed gutters without charge and clean-up was great. In-law is roofer in another part of the state and work was done to his specifications. Only negative is the company doesn't take American Express.
Description of Work: New roof with 30 year dimensional shingles, ridge line vent, 6 nails per shingle, synthetic underlay, replace all eve drips, roof vents, lead boots, replace decking as required,install new skylights and 5 year warranty.

 + -1 moreAny initial anxiety regarding the job was wholly put to rest by the thoughtful, efficient manner in which they completed their task. I would definitely recommend Jon Tallman and his team, under the watchful supervision of Oscar, to anyone wanting a professional job done to replace an old roof. It appeared that they really enjoyed their work.
Description of Work: Our roof had 2 layers. It needed cleared and replaced. The roofers worked at a constant pace to finish within the stated time frame. They replaced any areas in need of repair at a reasonable cost. Their ability to maneuver in our "outback" (a furrier yard than most) was remarkable. We have had 4" rains since the reroofing (in July) and the roof appears to have kept us thoroughly dry.

The workers were very nice and cleaned up after themselves by removing all nails and debris that may have fallen during the installation (which was very important to us as we have two dogs that could have stepped on a nail if one was left in the yard). The only thing I would comment on is communication. Due to rains during the week their schedule understandably backed up. I called them to find out when our roof would be completed and it would have been easier to plan time off of work if the changes in schedule would have been proactively communicated to me. However the work was great and my overall experience was wonderful and I would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: We had a complete re-roof completed and several boards replaced due to warping. The workers removed the old roof and replaced with the new one all in one day. They were fast and very efficient and also cleaned up after themselves when the work was complete. I was very pleased with the promptness of receiving the estimate and having the work completed all within a two week timeframe.

 + -1 moreLike many Floridians we had to change insurance companies in September Unfortunately, they waited until 3 weeks before hurricane season to inform us, in their opinion, we needed a new roof. Luckily Jon lives around the corner, & was at our house within 10 minutes to give us an estimate. Making a long story short, the roof was replaced within a week. Our main concern was not having to replace our gutters (again) & Oscar, the foreman, was wonderful. There was not a scratch. The crew was the hardest working group of men we have ever seen, and when they left our property was spotless. Jon even came by at the end of the job to be sure everything was alright. Even if he didn't live so close we would highly recommend his company.

 + -1 moreThey were absolutely great! They took a half day to scrape the old roof and trim off and then came back the next day and put on the new roof and did the flat roofs. I only had to take the one day off from work so that was a huge plus. John was very professional as were his workers. They are highly recommended!!

 + 0 moreTHIS COMPANY WAS $2500 LESS THAN THEIR COMPETITORS. WHEN I TOLD THEIR COMPETITORS THAT, THEY COULDN'T EVEN SAY ANYTHING. THEY ALL SAID THAT CARROLLWOOD ROOFING WAS A GOOD COMPANY. SO I TOOK THE CHANCE AND I'M GLAD I DID. THE CREW FINISHED MY ROOF IN 2 DAYS. THEY ALSO DIDN'T ASK ME TO TAKE OFF MY SATELLITE DISH WHICH THE OTHERS DID. THEY TOOK IT OFF AND REHOOKED IT IN THE SAME DAY. THEIR PLYWOOD SHEETS ARE ALSO HALF OF WHAT THE OTHERS CHARGE. THE ROOFING MATERIAL THEY USE IS ALSO AT THE TOP OF IT'S CLASS. I WAS ABLE TO HAVE MY ROOF BEING INSTALLED ONE WEEK AFTER THE ESTIMATE WAS DONE.
