When we first spoke to Alex I specifically asked him if he sub-contracted. He stated no, that he had his own crew and was very hands on. We saw Alex 3 times during the project. Once to drop off the sand, second to drop off the sealant and third to collect the check. He did use sub-contractors. They were extremely messy. My husband collected a large trash bag full of water bottles, cigarette butts, trash, etc., that they threw around our property. They left the hose on overnight flooding our side yard. The owner of the sub-contracting place left as soon as he placed the water tile then had to come back to fix loose tiles on the deck and to fix the pattern of the tiles on the deck. He told my husband that one guy only had 30 days experience. I guess we were to be his learning curve. They missed several spots of grout on the water tile that we fixed ourselves because we were so disgusted. We should have used Sierra Stone for the entire project.

Of the three companies that we interviewed, experience was what we wanted and it felt like they can work with us. They worked well with us. They were not the cheapest but we want their experience. They kind of went to it which was good when we got a big mess like that. They were good.

We started the renovation by getting estimates from three vendors. While BR Marble was the least expensive it was Alex's expertise and guidance that was so helpful. He and his workers did a first-class job with all of the work they performed. They were on time, professional, courteous and easy to work with. There was a cost over-run. However, it was due to the extra materials needed to level the floor. We can recommend BR Marble and would hire this firm again.

Alex was recommended to us by the company we purchased the stone from(Stone Mart). The estimate while not the very lowest was reasonable. Alex finished the work ahead of schedule and within budget. The highest praise I can think of to give a professional in the trades is that they are true craftsmen and that is exactly what Alex turned out to be. We could not be happier with the finished product and the quality of work.

The job was started promptly, the workmanship was excellent, and it was completed in just 5 days as promised.
