I got a quick response from bayside they showed up the same day the service repair man,jonah was very plesant,explaned everything to me I had the feeling he knew what he was doing, the job was more expensive then I had planned on but considering the system was 30 years old it needed to be replaced I think the price was fair1200

My experience with the owner of this company was not pleasant. After some confusion on my part, a technician came to our home to evaluate the work we needed done. I would like to add here that the technician was a very nice and professional young man. The first determination that he made was that the door needed a new lock and quoted me a price of $159 which included parts and labor. I was satisfied with that and told him to proceed. As he proceeded with the work he found that due to the type of garage door we had he could not go forward with replacing the lock. The owner of the company called me at work and explained that they could cut a hole in the panel of our garage door so we could gain access and quoted me a price of $200. I agreed although I felt the cost was high. I was upset and the owner knew it. However, a lot of the food for my Thanksgiving dinner was in our spare refrigerator and I felt I had no choice. The technician cut an approximately 3x5 square in one of the door panels. He left the edges sharp and did not put any type of handle on the door. My daughter arrived home and expressed her concern at the cost for the amount of work that had been done. Richard, the owner of the company, was unresponsive to her concerns. I spoke to him the next morning to try to understand why the cost was so high and he gave me an explanation that we tied his technician up for four hours when in fact the young man was here for around two hours. When I mentioned Angie's List he laughed at me and said that they are reputable company and that my review would not hurt them. They may very well be reputable but I do not feel that they treated me fairly. I definitely feel they took advantage of a senior citizen who was upset and anxious.

I called Wednesday morning and Rich was here the same day in the next couple hours. Price was competitive and work was done efficiently. I had a couple other questions and Rich was very honest and didn't try to upsell anything unnecessary. Would definitely recommend and plan to use for any future garage door needs. Thanks!

Bayside Garage Doors arrived promptly at the time scheduled. They called 30 minutes before arrival time to tell me they were on the way. Technician Richie checked my garage door opener over and explained what was wrong and what the cost would be. Technician was very professional and knowledgeable. I will contact Bayside Garage Doors for future repairs.

Rich was professional & did a great job! He was even able to get to us a day earlier that expected.

I called Bayside on a Saturday. The owner called us back right away, and then came out the next day (Sunday) and did a thorough repair. He let us know exactly what was needed and gave us options on how to proceed without pressuring us. We were very pleased with the work he did, with his promptness, and with how he treated us.

Contacted Bayside around 8am in the morning, they checked the scheduled and advised they could have their tech out that afternoon between 12noon and 3pm and that they would call when on their way. Called as promised. Tech was Jonah, who was very professional, timely and explained what was needed. Pricing was upfront with no surprises. Would call Bayside again for repair and/or door replacement. Charged $229.00 for two torsion spring replacement plus door and opener tune-up.

I used Angie list special for garage door install and had the price ahead of time, there were no surprise expenses. They arrived on time and did a great job. I would hire again.

Our garage door spring broke, checked with Angie's List and pick Bayside Garage Doors to do the repair. It wasn't an emergency but they were able to come out the next day. Jonah was the tech. He did a great job. He replace both springs and we noticed one of the cables was fraying so he replaced that. After he was done we talked about the new openers and how much quieter they are and replacing the rollers down the road. When the time comes I will give them a call. I highly recommend them. I always wait a few months before doing a review to make sure everything works right.

Service was outstanding and price was much better than other quotes. Very professional and punctual - I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

Richie was able to find an exact match to our older no longer manufactured garage door. He actually took it from another customer who wanted their doors replaced for an updated style. My other contractor's couldn't get a match. I am very happy. Now I have only to paint it to finish the job.

Richie was a responsive and professional - finished in under an hour replacing our double spring. Owed me a small refund and sure enough it was mailed and received here in just a few days. Top notch, highly recommend.

Jonah called me prior, as expected, and came out during the timeframe I had scheduled. I showed him our garage doors and the broken spring was obvious. Our smaller garage door had a disconnected wire, but we did not know if anything else was wrong with it. He looked at it and said it should just be the wire, and re-connected it for me at no charge. When we checked it, it worked fine. Jonah replaced both of the springs & completed the tune-up on the larger door. I paid the "Angie's List" member price that we had discussed prior. It was reasonable & there were no surprises! (Unlike the last time I had a different company come out, one who advertises on TV all the time. That company just tried to sell me more stuff & at that time, I didn't know any better.) I'm VERY glad we had Bayside Garage Doors come out. We would definitely call them again in the future & will recommend them to our friends.

Richard was a great guy. Got appointment immediately in next few mins and he showed up on time. Very professional and courteous. I appreciate his honesty to replace an incorrect spring after he had installed it but figured out the original one was not the right size. As part of the install he inspected the whole door, lubricated bearings, track, tuned the motor, took care of the slack in the chain and gave helpful pointers/suggestions. PS: These guys have a good spring replacement package which includes 3yr warranty that has labor+parts included! Great honest guy...Thanks Richard!

After 20 years our garage door cable/wire jumped and we called “Bayside Garage Doors”, since they apparently had some good reviews. However, that proved to be completely disappointing, untrue and contrary to the extremely poor and unsatisfactory work they performed for us. We had no other choice but to write this review as a consequence of the negative experience we encountered with “Bayside Garage Doors”. They advised that all the parts for the garage door needed to be replaced, the rollers, springs and so on, and we agreed to have them perform the noted repairs in reliance upon their knowledge, skill and experience. To our complete surprise, a few months later we had the same problem. In researching the work they had done with replacement of the parts for the garage door, we found out the degree of their incompetence and lack of knowledge regarding this type of work. When they replaced the springs, they installed the wrong springs. This caused the garage door to be improperly balanced and too heavy to operate, resulting in all kinds of adverse issues, including jumping the cables/wires. When we contacted them to provide the opportunity to correct their mistakes, specifically replacement with the correct parts for the garage door, they acted unprofessionally and refused to take any action to mitigate the problem. Since we had kept the original springs they had removed, we had it measured for precise fitting to our garage door specs and brought to their attention that contrary to the parts they used, we were aware of the actual correct parts required to be installed in order to properly repair the garage door. They kept denying the facts and representing that they had installed the proper springs, which was a blatant lie and dishonest response in view of the evidence (original springs) we had in our possession, which differed from the part that had been installed by them. When asked they refused to come and compare the original parts we had with the ones they had installed, knowing that they would be exposed and therefore become responsible to take action and correct their mistake. Our research revealed that the failure of the garage door to properly balance was due to the installation of the wrong springs by “Bayside Garage Doors”, which requires precision work and knowledge, completely lacking in the Bayside Garage Doors installers. In the end their rudeness, unprofessional behavior, indifference, lack of integrity, transferring the blame to the customer for their problems, unhelpful attitude (hanging up on the phone when they were confronted with the truth and reality of the situation) and failure to remedy the mistake and mess they had created won the day. Apparently, they are more disposed to incur an unfavorable review, rather than assume responsibility and correct their self-made mistakes. They were rewarded $472.94 for a failed job with no good results or outcome. After wasted time, wasted money and unnecessary aggravation, we had to get a real professional to rectify the mess they created and redo the entire job, without having to spend top dollars for the same job with proper results. Sometimes the learning curve can be very expensive; case in point. Beware! The good reviews might be misleading when dealing with an entity like “Bayside Garage Doors”. You don’t know what you are getting for the required job, unless you are knowledgeable about garage doors, fully informed of the related operating and functional parts and aware of the precise measurements required -depending on the garage door specs- to avoid getting less than the job involved requires. It would behoove you to think twice, at a minimum, before hiring “Bayside Garage Doors” and having them near your garage door. Their level of incompetence, lack of customer service and lack of integrity is unreal.
