concrete repair

We were planning to remodel and wanted to fill in our sunken living room since it was a tripping hazard. We spoke to A LOT of people about this and there were a lot of different ideas how to do this. Having a concrete truck pour concrete in your living room is really scary and we knew if it wasn't done right all the new flooring we put over it could crack. We were referred to Bill Larue at Statewide Construction by a tile company. Bill came to our house to look at the job and took a lot of time to explain the best way to do the job and said that he had filled in his mother's sunken living room. We also wanted to raise the sliding glass doors so they would be closer to the new floor height but we didn't want the house to be open very long. Bill suggested doing the project in two stages. He was just a truly nice guy and really seemed to care about his company and about doing the job right so we hired him. Originally he thought it would be okay to pour the concrete over the floor tile but just remove it from the edges but on the day his workers were to put in the wire mesh he decided that if they removed the tile it would give a thicker slab of concrete and be less likely to crack. This was more work for him but he did it because he thought it would be the best way to do the job. When the city inspector came over to view the mesh and rebar he said this was an excellent job and the best way to prepare the floor. When the concrete truck came they made it look so easy and I was surprised how clean they were with no major splattering on the walls or rest of the house. Bill was there also to make sure all went well. They were careful to level the floor and make sure it matched the level of the existing floor so we could retile without problem. His workers stayed for several hours after the pour smoothing the floor. We could walk on the floor the next day but had to let it cure for 30 days before tiling over it. Bill also agreed to work with our door person to come over and pour the curb for the sliding glass doors. He was going to have one of his workers come but decided to do the job himself. He came over on the morning the door man was removing the doors so he could talk to him and be sure he poured the curb to the right height to have the proper opening. He built a form that afternoon and poured a quick setting concrete curb and the next day the door man was able to reinstall the doors at the new height and the opening was perfect. Bill Larue is president of Statewide Construction which is a huge company and does major construction jobs. Our job was extremely small to him but he never made us feel that way and showed up at all phases of the job. He understood that this was our home and it meant a lot to us to have it done right. We met and used a lot of people during this remodel and we would rate Bill Larue the best, an A+, because he was so nice, patient in answering our questions and his work ethic of doing the job as though it was his own house. Pouring concrete in our living room was the scariest part of the remodel and it turned out great and we are so glad we hired this company. I will include pictures of before, during and after.
Description of Work: We had a sunken living room that we wanted filled in, about 18' x 18' and 4" deep. Tile was removed, rebar posts and mesh put down and bonding agent then concrete poured and leveled. Concrete curb out to patio for sliding glass doors was poured at a separate time.
