Ryan came over and was informative regarding the issues and alternatives, of which there were a few. We chose the middle of the road choice. The work was performed, weather permitting, and we are extremely satisfied. As we are moving to a new home, we would use them again!

I purchased the Roof Inspection (online) this morning 5/20/2016 from MacDowell Roofing. Ryan Whittaker (owner) called me within 5 minutes of the purchase to cooridinate a date. I told Ryan that I took off work today (because A/C maitenance and handyman are coming) and that if he could fit me his schedule that I would be home all day. If not, we can schedule another time. Ryan told me he had scheduled appointments and that he might be able to fit me in and took my cell phone number. Three hours later Ryan called me and said he was close by and could stop by for the Roof Inspection. A nice, considerate, soft spoken person (Ryan Whittaker) rang my doorbell and the Roof Inspection began ! About 1/2 hour later, after walking around my property and going on the roof, Ryan gives me back my money with a check made out to me. Ryan told me that my roof was fine, with no cracked tiles, and in great shape. There is NOTHING he can do. I even asked Ryan if I should have my Roof Sealed with a coating and he said NO ! What integrity !

Ryan and his crew were a real pleasure to work with. Ryan came out quickly after our call to give us an estimate. He was right in line with the other estimates that we got. But they were all much more than we wanted to spend. Then Ryan approached us with an alternative solution that saved us thousands of dollars and worked out perfectly. They stripped off the old roof, repaired all the rotted wood, and put down the new roofing material. Then they provided pictures of all the work that they did. If we ever need a roofer again we would call Ryan in a heartbeat. The only problem is that they did such a good job we probably won't need him for another 15 to 20 years.

The work crew called before they arrived and started to work. It took a little over a day, but they were very professional. They removed all the damage wood and roofing material. They coated the flat roof with water proofing and replaced all that had been removed. They swept the area and painted the wood that had been removed to match the current paint. They cleaned the yard and areas where there was debris and sawdust. Very satisfied with the work.

We hired E.W. MacDowell Roofing in January, 2010 to reroof the main roof of our house in Florida, we live in NJ. The job was done in a professional manner, they cleaned up and honestly went above and beyond with some stucco work also. They provide a detailed estimate and pictures after the work has been done. We hired them again in March of 2016, to shingle a smaller roof and I honestly would not hire anyone else. They will soon get another job from us probably in May of 2016.

Ryan showed up for the estimate promptly and explained in detail what they would do and how they would do the reroof. The job was estimated to take 1.5 days and that's exactly how long it took. When I arrived home the first day I couldn't believe how neat and clean the patio was kept during the work effort. They had even put a heavy plastic tarp over my pool to keep out any debris. I really appreciated the tarp as it kept everything out of my pool. Ryan's team were professional and polite and offered to show me the progress and explain everything done and what was left to do. One they thing they did was to take the time and get paint matched to my ceiling of so that I didn't even have to worry about getting matching paint or even paint the area where some of the deck had to be replaced. I can't say enough good things about MacDowell Roofing and what says it all for me is have already asked them for an estimate on my daughter's roof.

MacDowell Roofing is the utmost professional roofing service. I have used their services many times personally and recommended them to clients (I am a realtor). They show up when they say they will. They complete the job quickly once started and do a very high quality job. The work process is documented with photos. There fees are competitive and there customer service is exceptional. I don't hesitate to recommend them.

Perfect. Punctual service. Workers supervised by owner (Ryan), did the job in 3 days. No hazzles at all. So far so good. Warranty on the work done for 1 year. Extremely honest owner in providing estimate with pictures of job before and after. Quality work. Worth it. Dealing with Ryan (owner) is quiet a nice experience. Takes pictures of work to be done. Pictures when work is completed. Will keep this company for future problems that I am sure will have them again.

They were very professional and showed up on time. Kept a very clean work site and cleaned up after the job was complete. They provided several pictures of the problem causing the leaks, included the repair process in detail step by step photos and what it looked like after they were complete. Their price was very competitive with the two other estimates I received, in fact it was half the cost of another Angies List roofer with a better detailed cost proposal and warranty. I would use MacDowell Roofing again and highly recommend them to others. They were probably one of the best experiences I've had with home repair companies.

This morning I had the pleasure of meeting Ryan Whittaker, the owner of MacDowell Roofing. We each get one chance to make a first impression with people (and potential customers) that we meet. Ryan made an outstanding first impression of his company, and of himself. We live in home that was built in 1999 which has a clay tile roof. When I called MacDowell Roofing to make an appointment to have our roof inspected and repaired if any repairs were necessary, I was surprised to speak with the owner himself, who also did the inspection. Ryan showed up right on time as we agreed, did a very thorough inspection both outside and inside our very hot attic crawl space, and informed us that everything was intact, there were no signs of any water leakage, and that our 16 year old roof would probably last a total of approximately 20-22 years before needing replacement. The intense Florida sun causes clay tile roofing material to wear out faster than in other parts of the country. It is rare to meet an owner of a company who is both so knowledgeable and also so extremely fair. When I asked Ryan if I could pay him for the inspection he said that there was no charge, but asked instead asked instead that we strongly consider engaging MacDowell Roofing if and when we experience a leak or need the roof replaced. For me that is a given. The information that Ryan provided gives the opportunity to begin to plan and budget for a future roof replacement so there are no surprises when that becomes necessary. While MacDowell Roofing has not yet done any work for us that we paid for, I was impressed enough with Ryan's professionalism to write this review. It seems that many other Angie's List subscribers have also had a similar good experience with Ryan and his company, which is why I called him in the first place. I just wanted to acknowledge the excellent experience I had with MacDowell Roofing this morning.

Second time to use these guys and once again they did a great job. I didn't get any other roofers quotes on the repairs due to how satisfied I was with their work.

Everything went great. They came when expected finished on time without any extra surprises. I used the, five years ago for different roof problem and would use the agaib. Highly recomend

Ryan, who was my point of contact was extremely pleasant and super knowledgable in helping me understand everything that they were going to do. The job was completed on time and with minimal disruption to my schedule.
