We contacted Kevin and Tony based on the reviews my wife and I had read on Angies list. We were looking to remodel our kitchen and needed someone who was going to be reliable, offer exceptional product and was going to be reasonable from a cost standpoint. We hit a home-run with Superior Craftsman ! Kevin drew up plans based on what we wanted, then offered some very creative solutions we had not considered before. Specifically, he showed us that if we moved one of the kitchen wall out (into the rarely used dinning room area) we would not effectively alter the function of that room, but it would allow us to recess the "fridge" into that new wall, Add deeper pantry cabinets, and expand our counter top space. BRILLIANT ! Here is a You Tube Video of the work that was done http://youtu.be/NUE2ivjPF6w All work was done on time and within budget. As with everything, we had a few minor hiccups along the way, nothing major, but everything was addressed immediately, and handled in a professional and sincere manner I would have NO hesitation to have Tony and Kevin do additional work for us, or to recommend them to anyone looking for virtually any remodeling work, kitchen or bath renovations. In fact we just purchased an investment townhouse and Superior Craftsman were the first people we called for the work we needed done. Great Company, Great People, Great Work and a very Fair Price

Superior Craftsman were excellent to do business with. They were extremely flexible with my availability. Based on the amount of work I needed done, it required another day and again they were very flexible. The workmanship was excellent and he even came up with some quick fixes I hadn't thought of to make the bedroom look better. I will call them again with out a doubt!
Description of Work: I needed to have bead board removed from 4 bedroom walls, interior painting (over black paint in some areas) and moldings removed.

My girlfriend and I purchased our home in May of 2012. We immediately began looking for contractors to improve two flaws in our new home: an extremely dated kitchen, and a home extension of questionable quality. For the next few weeks, we had contractor after contractor view the home and make recommendations. Our goal was to explain the bare essentials of what we wanted and let the contractor make recommendations. Their vision of what was possible was extremely important to us. Well this didn't go quite as well as we hoped at first, at least until we met Tony and Joe at Superior Craftsman. Joe and Tony were full of innovative ideas of how we could improve these two areas of our home. It only took one consultation for us to realize that these were the men for job. From the start of the job to the very end of the job, they never disappointed us once. Joe laid out a great kitchen design. He was responsive to our requests and modifications. He delivered great kitchen layout with each discussion. Tony was present and worked with us through the whole process. He's a very motivated individual, who's meticulous, and engaging. Hardly a day or two would pass without a phone call from Tony. He kept us informed of the progress, and asked us questions regarding out own personal style for many facets of the home. There were tasks that my Girlfriend and I had trouble with. For example, the choice of back splash tile was extremely hard for us. Tony figuratively held our hand and met us at the supplier to discuss our options. Not just once either, he met us at that supplier twice. We changed our mind pretty late in the job, and he just took it in stride and met us at the supplier again. He pulled together samples and helped us go through our options for a second time. There was never any tension or derision, he was understanding of why we wanted the change and worked through it with us. The other contractors that Superior Craftsman had onsite were equally amazing. Al was as much a friend as a contractor. My girlfriend and I absolutely loved the guy. He was easy to talk with, and understanding of our questions / concerns. He made sure that his construction work matched the great designs that Joe drew up. Al even created custom shelving that wasn't stock. It looks absolutely amazing. His advice was invaluable through the process. He assisted my girlfriend and I several times, talking us out of what would have been a painting debacle had he just listened and followed through w/ our decision. The other contractors on our job were also amazing. Benny did an unbelievable job in our dining room. He sanded down the textures of our plaster walls to match the new drywall of the kitchen. Then he textured both the kitchen and dining areas to match the plaster of the rest of the house. The job he did was amazing. The texture differences between the kitchen / dining area to the living room are barely distinguishable. The quality of work is that great. The quality of work is really where this job shines. Our kitchen and half-bath are the highlights of our home. This renovation has only fueled our desire to continue the renovating our home. Next up is our Master Bedroom and full-bath. When we do decide to broach this project, you can be sure that we're going to call Superior Craftsman. Now I left out the details of the work for good reason. It is very difficult to recall the entire project and explain it piece by piece. Here is what I can tell you though. Prior to construction they cleaned out our garage and living areas. The moved everything into central areas and then covered all items for the demo. The kitchen was then taken down to the STUDS and there began the bulk of the construction. During the construction they encountered problems that come w/ 65 year old homes. Things like mold and wood rot. They ripped out the old wood and replaced it anew. They handle all of the building permits and made sure that everything occurred was either up to code, or exceeded code. The latter was most often done. Each day they cleaned up their mess in-case my girlfriend and I desired to walk the job. This was nice, as it allowed us to view the job from infancy to completion. They always did their best to protect our home during this process. If they removed a window, then they completed that section of the house that very day. They always left their work sealed up and protected from the elements. Tony and Al kept us up to speed throughout the entire process. If there was a decision point, then we were included, brought up to speed, and ultimately allowed to make that decision. In the end, it was the little things that really emphasized their desire to make the customer happy. You just don't see that kind of customer service often. I would highly recommend them to any and all individuals who require a remodel or renovation. Thank you, Superior Craftsman!
Description of Work: Superior Craftsman performed the following services for us: Created both design and architecture plans for the new kitchen. Facilitated all parts of permitting process for the new kitchen. Completely demolished old kitchen and office. Opened up new area into one large L shaped Kitchen w/ attached half-bath. Knocked down a wall to open layout and flow. Moved hot water heater from kitchen area to garage. Raised the ceiling and floor to even out issues w/ house settling and previous construction. Removed old windows and added new windows for light elsewhere. A lot of outdoor siding work. Vaulted ceiling in back part of L shaped kitchen. Removed old single door for a beautiful French Door installation. Installed large floor tiles. Installed beautiful rustic alder cabinetry from Mid-Continent cabinetry. Created custom shelving for above sink area using beadboard. Created custom wine rack to utilize all space as efficiently as possible. Did an amazing job adding texture to our existing dining room so that it would match the kitchen. They did the same for the ceiling throughout the three rooms. Installed new appliances that we purchased. Generally went above and beyond to assist through the whole process. They also performed many smaller services that weren't part of the initial scope. They raised a laundry closet entryway so that we could install stackable washer and dryer. They installed many fixtures that I purchased mid-construction.
A broken toilet ran all night and flooded the house. Carpeting and sheet vinyl were ruined, as well as kitchen cabinets. Superior Craftsman, Inc. was able to work with my insurance company and because their estimate was so detailed, the insurance company provided coverage that was twice what they first offered. In addition to the added coverage, the insurance company agreed to replace additional items, such as a kitchen sink and counter tops. There were challenges working with the insurance company, but Superior Craftsman was patient and supported us throughout the whole process, promptly providing all necessary documents each time they were asked. It was a pleasant surprise to learn that the carpeting and sheet vinyl could be replaced with beautiful laminate and tile and still stay within the budget. Their professionalism was greatly appreciated and it felt that they had our best interest at heart. All through the renovations, they respected my family's privacy and worked around our schedules. Even though the repairs involved the bathroom and kitchen, there was very little inconvenience to us. They even didn't mind fixing small things here and there for us while they were working on the restoration. They also completed all the work in 1/3 the time of the original plan. Not only was the bathroom restored to better shape than it was before, the new flooring and beautiful new kitchen cabinets made it seem like we had a whole new house. They truly are superior and they truly are craftsman!
Description of Work: Flooring throughout the house was replaced including laminate and tile. Kitchen cabinets, drywall, sink and counter tops were also replaced. In the bathroom, drywall and vanity were replaced.

As a new resident in a strange city, I was more than a little apprehensive about hiring "strangers". In my previous city, I had 40 years worth of contacts for all types of tradespeople who had done a myriad of work for me. In fact, many friends came to me for referrals. . Here, I knew no one. I was in for an absolutely pleasant surprise! Tony (the owner) came by the appointed time for the initial inspection. He was pleasant, professional, and prepared. I explained exactly what I wanted done. He took notes, and shot some pictures of the areas in question. We spoke at length about the project and how it would be executed. I was on a very tight time frame for the work to be completed and he told me they were exremely busy, but would do his best. True to his word, he managed to free up two of his employees for me. James and Sal arrived on time and after sizing up the work, began dismatling the rotting, and visually restrictive trellises. It was clear these were not just "handymen" at work. They were craftsmen who had years of experience in home construction, and thus were able to figure out the best approach in demolition. What impressed me most about their work ethic was their attention to detail. I have seen horror shows unfold in previous jobs when no thought was given to the potential outcome before action is taken. Case in point, the removal of the satellite dish. Prior to starting, both James and Sal walked around it and discussed angles of fall before starting their cut. The result was a "controlled fall" that accomplished the job without further destruction. As the day went on, the view of the backyard from the porch slowly improved. The last big hurdle was the removal of the satellite dish. Previously, the view from the master bedroom window featured an unobstructed view of the back of this 10' wide monstrous relic from the 80's. By the time these fine men were done, the morning view now includes the pool and a beautiful back acre. Toward the end of the job, Tony came by to help with the debris removal. The majority of the wood had been cut down to small pieces, as well as the satellite dish. The metal pole for the dish, as well as the 4 x 4 supports for the pergula, were either completely removed or cut several inches below ground-level. The last part of the job was sealing the holes made by the lag bolts and putting the gutters back. The latter ended up in better condition than when James and Sal began working. The gutters are now much more efficient and better attached than before. When work was ended, we all shook hands and I told Tony how happy I was with their work. I was almost sad to see them go. Needless to say, Tony and his crew are now part of my growing contacts in my new home town.
Description of Work: This service was purchased as an Angie's List special (18 hours of work for $600.00). The work was unusual because it involved removing exterior trellises covering the outside of windows in an unpstairs back porch running 35 feet. Each section of trellis was about 6' wide and 8' and was attached with lag bolts. Prior to starting that work, gutters had to be removed. In addition, There was an old-style satellite dish (10' radius) attached to a 4" thick metal pole. Finally, there was a pergula also made from the same trellis material supported by 4 x 4s. When all this was completed the holes created by the lag bolts had to be sealed, as well as the gutters re-installed (from the 2nd story down), and the debris removed.

Above is the story from start to finish: 1. Tony came and explained the procedure of the work to be done. He wrote down things I wanted done and made suggestions of how it could be best accomplished. 2. The day the work was to begin, the person was here and stayed the eight hours. 3. I felt some days were being cut short of the eight hours; however, it was more than compensated for in the end. Overall it went very well. Because I added a few things, it went over the week for which I had paid. I started out with handman and went to carpeting the upstairs rooms. This review is late because: 1. My email address changed without real notice. 2. Had wedding/wedding reception. 3. A niece died in Alabama (August) which put me in another state of mind. 4. Family Reunion September.
Description of Work: Do's: 1. Removed wallpaper and painted bedroom. 2. Removed wallpaper from two walls and paneling from the same two walls of a bedroom and painted this bedroom. 3. Painted entrance at front door and walls down hall way. 4. Painted two walls of livingroom/dining room area. 5. Repaired a crack in dining room wall. 6. Tiled bathroom (removed wall paper) and painted walls. 7. Replaced a rod in closet (wooden one had broken - replaced with a steel rod). 8. Had upstairs carpeted (living room, dining room, hallway) Only complaint: Furniture could have been covered better when wall paper was being removed. A lot of dust, debris, etc. was on furniture. Don't's: 1. Can't think of any don't's.

Tony was delayed in getting to us, but once they were on the job, the entire scope of work was completed in 1 day. Overall they did a good job and we would use them again. The work is professional and they kept me informed about progress during the course of the day and they did an excellent job cleaning up at the end of the day. Tony's foreman Al is an asset to his organization and a pleasure to work with.

These guys were real professionals and know what they are doing. They care about the quality of their work so therefore the completed job is a good one. They were punctual, very nice and do good work. I definitely will consider hiring them in the future when I need something done and recommend them highly to others. (It is good to note that I am extremely "picky" about the quality and way things are done - and they passed my test which is rare.)

I had an Angie's List coupon so tried out Superior Craftsman. I did have to contact Tony (I believe they were swamped by the coupon) but after I did, he quickly responded and had one of his guys come out and take a look (the work was outside work). Tony Monto and his guys did a wonderful job. I needed the wood siding in the front of my house replaced due to water damage. Tony and his team took a look and recommended a material that is better than wood (won't get water damage) and would not be a lot more expensive. We scheduled the work to be done soon after and they were only held up because of a down pour. They came the next possible day and worked hard to get the job finished that day and did a good job cleaning up afterwards. The siding looks great and I now have peace of mind with all the damaged wood being removed and the material being properly sealed. I would definitely use them again!
Description of Work: They removed all old, rotted siding and some wood beams (used for decoration) and replaced with a non-wood material, sealing it and replacing the wood window sill. They removed all the debris and cleaned up afterwards.

We couldn't be happier with the work Superior Craftsman did on our home! The kitchen is our favorite. Tony and Kevin worked closely with us on the cabinet detail and at times I was asked to just "trust them" in the process. So I did... And I'm so glad I did. The before and after is simply stunning! To date, we are still pleased with the work. These men pay such close attention to detail it's truly mind blowing. The best part about this project is if we have the slightest concern with anything (which has been minimal) they have not hesitated to respond to check the issue and repair it if needed. Every detail of our new kitchen is to our liking. They even cleaned everything before they would let my husband and I have our first peek at the finished project. One hiccup in the kitchen remodel was the discovery of mold behind the sink once the old sink was removed. They cleaned the area, removed the affected materials in the area (drywall, wood, etc.) and replaced it. They kept us posted step-by-step throughout this process. But they did not proceed with anything without going over everything in detail with us first: what would have to be done to address the mold issue; how it may effect the cost of the project; and a play-by-play of their progress on the mold removal process. In all of the work performed on our home, the only thing we were not as pleased with was the flooring contractor, Danny. While we are pleased with our flooring selections, he seemed to overlook small details that strongly affect the final finish of a project. Fortunately, Tony was diligent in addressing these concerns and promptly saw to it that our concerns were handled to our satisfaction. He even came out to take care of some of these things himself. All-in-all, we are so pleased with our remodel by Superior Craftsman, and would highly recommend them. In fact, we have plans to remodel our bathrooms and you can rest assured, Superior Craftsman will have our business.
Description of Work: We purchased an older pre-owned home in need of a full kitchen remodel and flooring replacement. We compared several contractors for the job because we needed the work done on a very tight timeline which seemed virtually impossible. The kitchen needed a complete overhaul including cabinetry, appliances, everything. The flooring was completely carpeted, old and out-dated and need of replacement. We needed the job done within 4-5 weeks based on the expiration of our lease at that time. After comparing several contractors, we decided to go with Superior Craftsman, Inc., even though they did not supply the best monetary estimate. Their estimate was middle-of-the-road compared to others. Some were higher, some were lower. But, we went with them because overall their vision was in line with what we were looking for, they listened to our needs, desires, and came up with a plan that not only met our needs, but also incorporated what we wanted for our budget. We worked closely with Tony Monto, the Regional Manager, who served as the coordinator for the job and always maintained communication with us, even when we had to travel out of town during the project. All calls were returned quickly and timely. In fact, I don't recall ever going to voicemail while they were on the job. When working with contractors, unexpected problems, or "hiccups" , within a remodel are normal. When we were faced with any "hiccups" they gave us best-case and worst-case scenarios and went over the different options to address these "hiccups" within our budget. At no time did we feel as if we were being taken advantage of or that the project was money-driven. They seemed to address us directly and personably which was very important to us. We selected every aspect of our remodel from grout and cabinet hardware to cabinetry and counters at their showroom. They replaced the cabinets/counter tops, and sink based on our selections. We purchased our appliances separately and they installed everything for us. Because of our tight timeline, their normal flooring contractor was not available because he was on another job, so they contracted Danny Frontera of Galleria of Floors, Inc. to take care of our flooring. We selected exactly what we wanted for each room in the house and Danny replaced the flooring throughout our home. The entire remodel was completed and our new home was move-in ready on schedule!

I phoned this company to set up a data of service / quote. I described the ideas I had for the renovations and was told someone would call me back. They have never returned my call. That was almost 3 weeks ago. Based on that alone, I would not recommend this contractor.
Description of Work: No service was preformed at this time.
Awesome. Superior Craftsman did fantastic professional work. We trusted them with our home while we went on vacation for 3.5 weeks and we weren't disappointed. They even repaired some unexpected problem areas and didn't charge us extra. Their subcontractors were very professional and easy to work with. Their tile guy is an artist who did great things wherever he worked. The cabinets in all rooms were awesome and Kevin even designed a special cabinet for my wife in the master bath which she loves. Painting was also very professional and turned out the way my wife expected. The place looks like a new home. We really love it. I would definitely recommend Superior Craftsman to friends and family. Thanks Superior Craftsman for all your hard work. Please feel free to use us as a reference in the future if needed.
Description of Work: We met with Kevin and Tony three times, providing inputs each time to professional drawings, statements of work to be done, and cost estimates. They were fantastic to work with and offered many ideas to improve our ideas. They removed all furniture from family rooms, covered items in other rooms and used plastic sheeting to protect rooms where work was not being done. Completely remodeled kitchen and laundry room, master bath and guest bath. Removed and replaced all tile, cabinets, counter tops, toilets, and plumbing fixtures. Repainted all above rooms. Rebuilt a portion of kitchen cabinets and reorganized kitchen plumbing, Installed lighting in master and guest bath. Installed old cabinets from kitchen into laundry room. Removed and replaced wood and tile in entrance area, family room and guest hallway with tile to match kitchen and guest bath so that all tile was the same throughout except for master bath. Replaced all furniture when finished. Professionally cleaned all work areas when finished.

The experience was pleasant and professional from start to finish.Tony and Tom and crew quickly identified the number of rows of siding that were damaged, strippped them off, picked up replacement hardiboard and replaced them and prepared the garage for repainting. Then the crew identified a strong fixd for the cracked beam and fixed it. After this the more minor items were smoothly completed excellently.

I was incredibly impressed with the quality and speed of the work performed. Al was courteous and efficient. He gave me advice on other projects I was considering, but wasn't ready for that day with materials. On the whole, I feel the purchase was a really great deal and even included work I wasn't expecting. I thing probably most of the handymen at Superior cleaners are sent based on their speciality with your specific tasks, but ask for Al if you have carpentry work, he is great.
Description of Work: I bought the Anglie's List Big Deal 6 hours of handyman work for $199 with Superior Craftsmen. I spoke with Superior Craftsman representative, Kevin, for any question about the purchase and he told me to have a long list ready in order of priority so that I could get as much done on my list within the 6 hours. Handyman Al came out last week. I had two major projects in the kitchen which I assumed would take most of the time. One involved rebuilding a cabinet along with cutting the countertop. He was done with this within the first hour. Good thing I had a list! By the time 6 hours were over he had rebuilt another cabinet in my bathroom, replaced 3 motion sensor lights in my back yard, installed and leveled my dishwasher, and installed 2 deadbolt locks for me.

Very well. It started with an Angie's List promotional coupon. Tony of Superior Craftsman came out first to help determine what was needed and then sent out the right man for the job. Jim came out to my home, helped me determine what was really needed to make my house ready to sell, made a list of what he needed, obtained it, then returned to do the work. He was efficient, personable, and helpful. I had turned to Angie's List to find companies that would be honest with me and do the job right. Superior Craftsman is just what I had hoped for.
Description of Work: I have been needing an honest and capable handyman to do grouting, minor roof repair, painting, a little cabinetry repair and more. I found that in Jim of Superior Craftsman. So far, he has completed grouting/caulking work in my shower and to my bathroom cabinetry , greatly improving the appearance and functionality. He fixed the fallen shingles from the top of my roof. Did some of the painting in the front, which he will finish next time. Consulting with him on which actions are most relevant to getting my home ready to sell has been invaluable. I know he did more "fix-it" work as well while he was here and will be returning to do more.

I have never received any contact from Tony or his associate with Superior Craftsman. No written estimate (as promised). No Telephonecall, nothing. End of report.
Description of Work: Request this company to give an estimate on what I thought was a leaky shower pan.Tony Monto and an associate were very responsive to my request. They examined the Shower and determined that it was a leaky shower pan ( in their opinion). They didwhat I thought was a very thorough inspection of the problem area, They then promised to provide a written estimate to repair the leaky shower pan. They assured me the estimate would be provide with a few days.

He seemed very professional and we talked about all of the work. He said he'd work up an estimate for us. In two weeks, we've never heard back from him. I called once and he said that the quote wasn't ready, and have left 2 messages for him since then. He's been unresponsive in providing a timely estimate.
Description of Work: I had purchased a Big Deal for them to do remodeling at my house.

They were wonderful and everything worked out well. Their crews, which included the plumbers, electricians, etc., were good. They were very nice and I would recommend them. Everything was great, but was not that happy with the countertops. The person was supposed to com, but he hasn’t yet. They were expensive than the other places.
Description of Work: I used the services of Superior Craftsman Inc. for bathroom remodeling with the entire plumbing from outside to inside of the house.

My overall experience exceeded my expectations...Sorry I did not follow format and put it all together
Description of Work: I am a single mom of 3 and received a membership to Angie's List as a gift. A gift because I had a "friend" enclose my screened in patio into 2 closed rooms (sitting and game room) which was a complete disaster !! This guy took my money , did shotty work and then took the high road when the roof started leaking and the interior walls began to collapse.. "Friend # 2 " had to rip out all roof work of #1 and discovered some nails from new roof weren't even attached to my existing structure putting my family at risk. So what began as a $10,000 project ended up costing me $20,000 and #2 did not complete entirely what he said he would do for me.. With friends like that.....who needs....well you know the rest. Which brought me to Angie's List and Superior Craftsman. I did call for 2 estimates. The first was well beyond my budget...which I told up front my constraints.. He was professional and distant and never followed up with me.Then came Kevin and Tony !!! The brains and brawn of the operation !! Tony came over, I told him what I wanted and what my budget was. My home was built in 1974 and the kitchen was small and dated. With the previous remodel my "friend" did not take out the window above the sink that once overlooked my lanai. Instead I stared at wood beams and dry wall within the existing window...it was never removed. The team removed the window to make a wall and back splash. They also removed a wall that separated the kitchen and dining area to give it a more open feel to it...They also completed the work friend #2 did not...which was not even in the contract at no extra charge. They held my hand each step of the way and Kevin was able to make my vision a reality !! Tony handled all my..on the job concerns in a professional and timely matter.. Not only did they exceed my expectations I feel like I made some great friends along the way and would use them again if I had the money to do so. I highly recommend Superior Craftsman for any remodel needs you may have ..you won't be disappointed !! I also need to apologize to the guys for my delay in follow up. The project took approximately 2 weeks to complete and then I had to begin planning for a double mastectomy which I had 2 weeks ago and am finally well enough to type about my positive experience.
