Strong Movers

Description of Work: We had scheduled a move to begin on Friday, 9/25/15 at 4:00PM to 7:00PM and to be completed on Saturday, 9/26/15, starting at 12:00Noon to 2:00 PM for a total of 5 hours. It took a minute to work out all the details for the move but we finally agreed on the dates and times mentioned here, the manpower needed, and got a confirmation email from the owner of Strong Movers (Spencer Fitzgerald). On the day of the move Friday, 9/25, we get a call at 5:08PM from one of the Strong Movers' guys named Dillon after the appointed time of 4:00PM saying they were on the way but stuck in traffic. Their ETA would be an hour from that time for us not to worry they got tied up with another job but instead of 2 men coming there would be 3 men coming and they would get the job done, don't worry. When it reached after 6:00PM, we called Dillon back to cancel the work for Friday all together. Dillon was insistent that we honor the new arrangement, that they were on their way. We told him this was not acceptable for us as we had planned our evening after the scheduled move time for Friday and the lateness of the hour did not work for us for them to start the move. The plan was to break the move up over 2 days so that it would not be so taxing on us and all involved--so 3 hours on Friday and 2 hours on Saturday worked with our plans. What Dillon was proposing was unacceptable so we asked him to bring his team on Saturday morning early at 9:00AM and work until the move was complete. Instead of him accepting responsibility of relaying this message to the owner, Spencer Fitzgerald, he wanted us to do that because he was unable to reach him. Now if Dillon could not reach Spencer how were we to reach him? We got no call from Spencer apologizing for his men's lateness and unprofessionalism. Strong Movers had clearly messed up--not to mention the fact that they put us in a horrible bind and ended up leaving us hanging, the day of our move! We called Spencer Fitzgerald early Saturday morning several times before 9AM and got no answer, no response! We finally just cancelled the appointment all together and asked him not to show up! We ended up going with another moving provider at the last minute and thankfully so was very, very pleased with their services in every way!!
