SEARS HOME IMPROVEMENT PRODUCTS

The shower project from ****! Can you image taking over five months and $5600 to purchase and install a new shower. We are talking shower, not new bathroom or kitchen, just one simple shower. Sears Home Improvements promised a 1-3 day install that ran for over five months. It took three sets of contractors, three reorder of parts and literally scores of phone calls to the Sears Home Improvements Office in Charlotte in get the job done. Two of the Sears techs measured incorrectly, and two others messed up the installation. My initial decision to use Sears over local, much cheaper tradesmen was based on their 1-3 days for installation, and complete customer satisfaction. Forget the 1-3 days, it was over five months, with half of that time having the shower out of commission and unusable. As far as customer satisfaction is concerned, Sears didn't give a hoot about my concerns, frustrations or numerous requests to get informed of the status of the project. Oh, did mention the black flies that came into my bathroom and house because the first set of installers failed to seal the drain leading to the septic tank. I don't know which was worse, the ineptness of the project install people or the total lack of any pretense of keeping me in the loop during the needless delays. You would think Sears values their corporate reputation enough to at least keep the customers that have supported them for decades happy. Sears used to be my go-to source for automotive repair, appliance service and repair, and numerous other consumer needs. That horrible experience has changed any thoughts I might have of purchasing anything from Sears in the future. Sad but true.

I left a message, as requested by the answering machine. They didn't return my call for 2 weeks. Meanwhile, I found another repair person who did a great job.

The sliding door at my daughter's house in Orlando, FL needed to be replaced. I called Sears Home Improvement and arranged for a representative to come to her house and give us an estimate. The representative, a Mr. Ken Spence, showed up in the later part of May or very early in June and gave a demonstration of how good his product was and told us that he would be the project manager and that the job would be completed within 5 to 6 weeks. On July 2 Mr. Spence called me and explained that he had been on vacation and the door had not yet been ordered. He also asked for credit card information. I questioned hes need for my credit card info since he already had. He stated that the credit dept needed it . He stated that no charge would be made until the job was complete. I accepted this and gave him the information. The next day I checked my bank balance and found that a hold had been placed for over $1500. I immediately called Mr. Spence and told him to cancell my order and to have the hold taken off of my bank account. He assured me that it would be done. The following day the hold had still not been removed and I again called Mr. Spence. He once again told me the hold would be removed. Eventually the hold was removed. After the $1500+ hold had been removed I checked my bank balance and found that a charge for $671.89 had been made to my account by Sears. I called Mr. Spence and told him to have the charge removed. He assured me that it would be removed. It wasn't. For several days I called Mr. Spence and my calls went unanswered. Finally I called another number for Sears Home Improvement and was told to speak with Mr. Charlton Craig at 407-767-8011. Of course he was not in. I spoked to the person who answered the phone and explained my situation. I was told that Mr. Craig would call me back shortly. Well it has been longer than shortly and I have not heard from Mr. Craig and my money is still gone. I will eventually get my money back but, I will never deal with Sears Home Improvement again. My advise to you is not let Sears Home Improvement near yoiur home or......your bank account.

Today is the 10th of Nov and the appointment is set up for the 15th. I will submit an update then, but I do believe that I have 2 seperate issues; one with the conflict of information and the other with the actual service, once rendered....

THEY DAY THEY CAME OUT WAS GOOD. THEY GOT RIGHT TO WORK AND INSTALLED THE WINDOWS. THEY WORKED UNTIL THEY WERE DONE. SEARS REPLACES THEIR WINDOWS, BUT THEY HAVE TO MAKE THEM. THE TYPE OF WINDOW WE WANTED FOR THE BATHROOM COULDN'T BE MADE.

THEY WERE VERY RESPONSIBLE. THEY WERE VERY PRESENTABLE IN THEIR COMING, AND THEY STUCK BY THEIR WORKMANSHIP. THEY WERE VERY GOOD ABOUT RETURNING CALLS AND WERE VERY PROMPT WITH THAT.

THEY'RE ALWAYS GOOD TO WORK WITH. THEY DO A GOOD JOB. THEY PUT UP A GOOD DOOR THAT WORKS PROPERLY. THEY WERE FINE. I WOULD ALSO SAY THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL.

THEY WERE REALLY PROFESSIONAL AND VERY EFFICIENT, AND WE FELT WE GOT A VERY GOOD DEAL FROM THEM. THEY CAME AND DID THERE JOB IN A VERY FAST TIME. THEY ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS, AND THEY DID THEIR JOB VERY WELL.

EVERYTHING WAS GOOD AND PERFECT. WE WENT INTO THE STORE, AND THEY OFFERED ME THE INSTALLATION. I WAS SATISFIED WITH THE PRICE. THE PROFESSIONALISM WAS FINE.

I BELIEVE THIS COMPANY DID A FANTASTIC JOB OF MAKING AN APPOINTMENT THAT WAS CONVENIENT FOR ME. THE WATER IN MY DISHWASHER NOW GETS A LOT HOTTER AND THEREFORE MY DISHES ARE GETTING CLEANER.

I BELIEVE THEY PERFORMED AN EXCELLENT JOB. MY WASHING MACHINE WORKS LIKE NEW. THIS COMPANY DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB OF TRYING TO GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO MAKE THE CUSTOMER HAPPY.

I BELIEVE THIS COMPANY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB OF REPLACING MY ICE MAKER IN A TIMELY MANNER. MY ICE MAKER MAKES A LOT MORE ICE AND LARGER ICE CUBES. THE STAFF IS PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY.

I AM SO PLEASED THAT I WAS ABLE TO GET MY ICE MAKER FIXED BEFORE THE HOLIDAY SEASON. THE REPAIRMAN GAVE ME A LITTLE ADVICE ON MAKING SURE THAT WE REMOVE SOME OF THE BUILT UP ICE TO KEEP IT RUNNING CORRECTLY.

I WAS ECSTATIC TO SEE THAT THE NEW SIDING WAS COMPLETELY INSTALLED WITHIN THREE DAYS. I HAVE A TWO-STORY HOME AND THE CHANGE IN APPEARANCE, DUE TO THE NEW SIDING IS AMAZING.

SEARS IS THE ONLY LOCAL APPLIANCE STORE I USE. THEY HAVE REASONABLE PRICES AND WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE REPAIRMAN WAS PUNCTUAL AND WELL TRAINED IN HIS WORK. HE EVEN CLEANED UP HIS MESS WHEN THE JOB WAS COMPLETED.

I THINK THAT THE REPAIRMAN THEY SENT OUT FOR THE FIRST VISIT DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING. NOR DID THE SECOND GUY BECAUSE HE DIAGNOSED IT INCORRECTLY AS WELL. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE STAFF SCHEDULED SEARS TO COME OUT TO EARLY.

SEARS DID A REAL GOOD JOB. THEY CAME RIGHT AWAY AND GOT EVERYTHING FIXED IN A TIMELY MANNER. IT ALL WORKS GREAT NOW, I HAVE ICE. I AM HAPPY AND SATISFIED WITH THEIR SERVICES.

I AM SATISFIED WITH SEARS WORKMANSHIP. THE TECHNICIANS ARE PUNCTUAL AND PROFESSIONAL. IT ONLY TOOK HIM ABOUT AN HOUR TO REPAIR MY WASHER. NOW I'M FINALLY ABLE TO WASH A LOAD OF CLOTHES WITHOUT HEARING A LOUD THUMPING NOISE.

I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY FOR SEVERAL OTHER SERVICES. THEY ALWAYS PROVIDE ME WITH GREAT SERVICE. THE WORKERS MEASURED THE FLOORS ACCURATELY AND INSTALLED THE CARPET PROPERLY. THE NEW CARPET MAKES MY HOME ENCHANTING.

I WAS REALLY PLEASED WITH THE SERVICES THAT WERE PROVIDED. ONE THING I REALLY LIKED IS THEY ALWAYS CAME PREPARED WITH THE PARTS. THE WORKERS WORKED EFFICIENTLY AND IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER.

I LIKE SEARS A LOT, THEY ARE ALWAYS POLITE AND GET OUT TO MY HOUSE VERY QUICKLY. THE SERVICE MAN THAT FIXED MY DISHWASHER DEFINITELY KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. HE HAD IT WORKING AGAIN IN NO TIME.

THIS COMPANY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB COMING OUT IN A TIMELY MANNER AND GETTING THE SOAP DISPENSER FIXED. THE DOOR NOW STAYS SHUT UNTIL IT SHOULD COME OPEN AND MY DISHES ARE CLEANER.

THEY CAME OUT, DID THE WORK AND CLAIMED MY WASHER WAS FIXED, BUT WHEN I TRIED TO USE IT THE SWITCH STILL DID NOT WORK. WHEN I CALLED THEM AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM SEARS SAID THEY'D COME BACK OUT BUT THEY DID. EVENTUALLY MY HUSBAND FIXED IT HIMSELF.

MY DRYER WORKS LIKE NEW. MY CLOTHES DRY IN HALF THE TIME IT HAS BEEN TAKING CLOTHES TO DRY. THE REPRESENTATIVE WAS PROFESSIONAL AND SHOWED UP IN A TIMELY MANNER.

I FEEL THAT SEARS DID A WONDERFUL JOB OF REPAIRING MY STOVE BECAUSE NOW, IT HEATS UP VERY QUICKLY. THEY CAME WITHIN A DAY OR TWO AND MADE THE REPAIR IN A SHORT TIME.
