When the technician got there, he said it needed to be replaced. I accepted that, since the old one was clogged, despite that another AC company who had looked at it said it only required cleaning. I was quoted $1470 for the new part, along with a new wire for the thermostat. I showed up on the day of install myself to see what he was putting in for a new coil. He said it was damaged and could not be used after all, and he would have to get another. So I went there again the 2nd time he was supposed to change the coil, but did not actually see what coil he put in. The a/c improved. I wasn't very happy about the $300 to $1470 bait and switch, but had everything gone well, it would have been OK. The problem came in when I asked what size filter the tenant needed to buy so the coil would not get clogged again. It was a very strange size, and the new coil had a very strange filter fitting. He said to call the office. I called that office over and over again for the last 2 months. Each time, I was told that I'd have to call back, or reached an answering machine. At this point, all I wanted was the part number for what they put in so I could find out from the manufacturer what brand it was and what type of filter would work best. No way to find out. So at this point, I have spent nearly $1500, and the AC will get clogged again because there's no way to figure out what type of filter will work on it. These people are very unprofessional, and I would not recommend them to anyone.

We would like to start by apologizing for the late response to this review as we were never notified when this was posted. We were contacted to request a quote over the phone to clean the Evaporator coil, to which we quoted $300.00. The work was scheduled. Unfortunately upon arrival our technician found that the Coil was not just dirty, but actually deteriorating and therefore could not be cleaned. Come to find out later during the repair that it was due to oven cleaner being sprayed onto it in an attempt to DIY clean it, explaining the deteriorating. The Evaporator Coil, Labor, Freon after Angie's List Discount was $995.00. We also found that the Condenser outside was not running so she also needed to have new low voltage wiring ran due to the wire deteriorating over the years and being repaired multiple times previously unprofessionally without the use of wire nuts or some type of protective covering with something like electrical tape, the cost of that portion was $475.00 totaling $1,470.00. There was definitely not any bait and switch dealings here, we merely wanted to treat her right and not just clean the coil to turn around and have it start leaking and costing her additional monies. In regards to the Filter size, we did tell her it is a 14x18x1 before we started the work, as well as the technician telling her at the time of the repair. We also supplied her with the first one so that she would have one in the unit immediately, the office did notify her that one would be supplied at the time of repair. We do apologize for any overlooked phone call

We contacted Complete Air Mechanical since our warranty company wasn't able to come out for several days. A technician came out and replaced the run capacitor. After less then 20 minutes the air stopped working again. The technician then applied two additional run capacitors and advised us he could not get the air running without adding a kick start kit and in addition that our compressor was going but these repairs would keep it working for now. The repairs were completed and the air started working again. We kept our appointment with our warranty company since we were advised by the technician at Complete Air that our compressor was going and we wanted a second opinion. When the warranty company came out, we were advised that the run capacitor that Complete Air Mechanical installed was the wrong one and the kick start was unnecessary. This resulted in paying 60% more than was necessary for the repair done by Complete Air. When we contacted the company about a partial refund, they would not call us back but did email us. They stated that the part that we claimed was incorrect (the run capacitor) was not put on by their company (said the technician didn't even have that part on his truck) and the unnecessary part (the kick start kit) was needed which it was not as that part is sitting on our dining room table yet our air conditioner is still working. In addition they and refused our offer to have someone come out to our home and inspect the repairs as well as respond back their reply in which we sent a follow up email without any response. Overall we were displeased with the price of the service and the professionalism of the customer service staff. We would not recommend using this company.

We did ask this customer to supply us with an actual Invoice from Service America from when that company was out after our company. It took some time (little over 1 week), and once submitted it was only a type written letter from a manager, not an actual field service Invoice from the onsite technician. We advised them that we could not accept a type written letter, that we needed an actual service Invoice that shows their findings and what they did while onsite that day. We did supply the customer with actual pictures via email that were taken of what the customer had existing, and what we replaced it with the first time. The first Capacitor was bad, so our technician put another one on. It was not a 7.5 Capacitor that we installed, that is what was existing on his system for his Condenser Fan Motor. We replaced the Capacitor to the Compressor, a 40+5. We have also explained to the customer that once there was another company onsite, and removing our part (that had kept their system working) that we can no longer accept that part back and give a refund at a later time down the road. We do not know what has been done with our part at that point, which would be the case with most other companies as well. Before we ever arrived to this customers house he was calling multiple times to our office about various coupons he had found, as well as the entire time our technician was onsite making repairs, including after he had presented his final coupon and the technician had applied that and written the Invoice, trying to apply multiple coupons to the services provided that night.

After a slight struggle getting the vendor to process the only purchase (Angie's List customer service was great), they showed up and did a great job of cleaning out my entire ventilation system. The contractor was very professional and did a thorough job throughout the whole house. The only thing not complete was the dryer ducting which was included but the piping that vented into the attic needed to be repaired. So, no disappointment there. Very professional job.
Description of Work: Cleaned all ducts, returns, supply lines and treated duct work for 3000 sq ft. home. Used a promotion but only included 10 supply and 1 return. Home had over 12 additional supply lines which I paid $20 each additional.

Complete Air Mechanical was very prompted and helpful during my service. I have 2 children in my home and it was extremely hot. They diagnosed everything very quickly and was very helpful in making sure my wife understood what was going on and informed us of the new system we would be getting. They got us on schedule for install right away and in no time at all we had air back in our home. We were so impressed that we called them back to do our duct cleaning and our insulation. We will definitely recommend this company to all of our family and friends!!

This was by far the most frustrating and infuriating experience I've ever encountered with a service company in Florida. On 09/21/2010, I called Complete Air Mechanical of Central Florida, the same company that installed my AC system about 4 years earlier, and explained that my system would not shut off and it was not cooling my house. They sent a tech out to check the system. I mentioned again to the tech that the unit wouldn't turn off, and he could clearly feel that there was no cool air blowing. He checked the inside unit, and then went outside to check the outside unit. He told me the compressor on the outside unit was very hot and needed to be replaced, and it would cost $898.00. I was unemployed at the time and I felt this was an extremely high price to pay for a compressor, but it was 86 degrees in my house and my daughter was ill at the time, so I felt I had no choice, so I said to go ahead and replace it. He was there for a little under an hour, and said they'd send an installer out in a couple of hours with the new part. The installer showed up and I mentioned again to him that the system doesn't turn off. He replaced the compressor, then came inside and check the inside unit, and said it was working properly and should cool off the house in a few hours. He also took a litlle under an hour, and left. I'll round that off to 2 hours labor. On 09/22/2010, after the system ran all night, and I still had no cool air, I called the company again and and explained to them that I still had no AC and it still won't turn off. They sent the same installer back and he checked the inside unit again and told me that the evaporator coil was no good and needed to be replaced and it would cost another $898.00. I was devestated, I really couldn't afford this kind of money and after begging for a break, he called the company back and asked if there was anything they could do for me, so the person on the other side said to knock off $100.00. Whoopie! Agian, feelling stressed and that I had no other options, and with that whoping $100.00 break, I gave the go ahead to replace the coil. As he was leaving he told me I was lucky that these parts were covered under the manufacturers waranty, otherwise it would have cost me a lot more. I was speachless! While the installer was on his way to get the new coil, I called the company back and asked why it was costing me so much money, ($1696.00) if these parts were covered under waranty. This person in the office explained to me that they use flat rate priceing and they don't charge any sales tax. I was growing very suspisious at this point, then asked if I could get the old compressor back to have it tested, and she refused stating they had to send it back to the manufacturer to get credit for it. I then asked for a writen breakdown of the costs and charges, and she again refused stating that they don't do that and that I was basicly just paying for labor. After this phone conversation, I was extremey agitated and feeling like I've just been fleeced of my entire savings, I tried to calm down. The installer came back a few hours later and replaced the coil, and again I mentioned the fact that the system wouldn't turn off and he said it was probably a problem with the controller board, a part that costs under $100.00. No extra charge to me though. Whoopie! again. He was here for a total of about 4 hours that day. Here is my sumation: I don't believe the compressor or the coil were bad. I believe it was the controller board the whole time. However, after contacting several other AC companies for comparison, I was told by at least 3 of them that they didn't think those parts were truly bad either, and that even if they were, and they were covered under the manufacturers waranty, it should only have cost me about $300.00 to $500.00 to replace both the compressor and the coil. Do the math here, on day 1 total labor hours (I'm only counting the time these tech's were in my home), was about 2 hours. Day 2 was about 4 hours. Now $1696.00 divided by 6 is approximately $283.00 per hour. My doctor and my lawyer combined don't charge that much. So, either this company is completely corrupt and has no problem at all with sucking the life out of cutomers through thier wallet, or they have the most incompetent technicians in the country. Also, as some cool weather set in here last week, I went to turn on my heat and found I had none, I'm scared to death to call these people back here, yet I know it was them that caused the problem.

On a job that uses "flat rate pricing", it includes all Freon, Materials, Labor of all professionals involved, travel time, warranty paperwork etc. There are no breakdowns on flat rate pricing. This is an Industry standard practice. We do stand behind our work and provide a 1-yr Labor warranty with all repairs that we make. In today's business world the financial burden is immense, we strive everyday to keep our prices competitive, and well within the Industry standard. In regards to the price's we charged, and what the problems were with this customers equipment. We do not under any circumstances ever make the customer feel that they cannot exercise their right to shop around for different prices, or get a second opinion, and unless another company is actually onsite, it would be impossible to make a diagnosis, it would only be a guess on a pool of possibilities based on what the customer is stating the issue is. Unfortunately some companies will low ball prices when a customer calls on the telephone to inquire about pricing, only to get their foot in the door to add additional items that will be needed to complete the job. We do not use this business strategy. We stand behind our Technician Cliff's diagnosis of the failed compressor, as he has over 30yrs experience in the HVAC Industry and is a Senior Service Technician. We will add here that if there is a compressor failure, we cannot diagnose any further issues that may be going on until the system is back up and running. In (Member name removed) case, the additional damages found were the Fan Control Board and Evaporator Coil. We did not charge him to change the Board, only the Evaporator Coil, which we discounted. We understand it is frustrating to the consumers when their equipment fails and they do not quite understand all that is entailed in doing these major parts change out's, even when the part is under a manufacturer warranty, and to understand that there is more than just the first diagnosing technician's time on the jobsite that is involved in the actual costs to complete these jobs. There are a lot of costs incurred by legitimate and properly licensed and insured companies that stand behind their work to perform these jobs.

We chose them because they came in with the lowest bid and were recommended by our contractor. Unfortunately, our contractor and the installers ended up not getting along. Now that the remodel is complete and we are living in the home we question decision as well as the location and sizes of some of the vents and the number of the vents in some of the rooms. For example, the small master bath has two supplies while the master bedroom has one and is it right over the bed. In the exercise room, which is on the east side of the house, they placed the return right next to the supply. They only offered one type of register which was a very poor product and showed no interest in helping us locate something of more quality. We would not use them again nor would we recommend them.
Description of Work: They installed an additional AC system to our home during a remodel and integrated the new system into our existing one.

We were never notified that this complaint was on file with your company, therefore could not respond. The only thing I find in our records under that name is Elizabeth Wenta-Scheider and it is listed as 4526 Oak Cove Lane, Orlando, FL 32806. The only transaction for this customer is a Heat Load Calc performed by a separate company, no installation or anything, not even under that dollar amount. If the name of the Building Contractor can be supplied then we can further research this job and be given the opportunity to respond finally.

We were never notified of this complaint on file with your company and therefore never given the opportunity to respond until now, when we happened across it whie responding to one that we were notified about. I see in our records where we were there for a service call, and added Freon at that time. When we are called to a home we diagnose the problem and give the customer their options, if they so choose not to make a repair we cannot do any repair without authorization. Due to the year serviced, this file is in storage and will have to be retrieved for specific diagnostic information and/or notes. I will say in the meantime that, I also see we were called to this customers home the following year for service (2007) as well, after this complaint.

After receiving 3 different companies estimates we chose Complete Air Mechanical. They were the most informative and were able to answer all of our questions unlike the ''salesmen'' from the other companies. Cliff showed up on time and was very knowledgeable. He repaired the work the previous company had done wrong and gave us pointers on how to make our air conditioner last longer. It eventually needed to be replaced anyway. Cliff deducted the cost of repair for first visit from the cost of a new system. So in the end we didn't pay anything for all the work he did cleaning it and trying to fix it originally. He installed the new system and even stayed until after midnight making sure it worked properly so we didn't have to go another day in the heat. Fantastic warranty options and very reasonably priced, worth every penny. I am hiring him again for our addition and recommending him to my family members. Great Job!
Description of Work: First he cleaned and tried to repair our 12 year old air conditioner after a different company had failed to do the repairs correctly. Second he replaced the entire system, Condenser unit, air handler and even new lines for our home.
