Collis Roofing

I got two other bids and Collis Roofing was more reasonably priced. They were excellent. I was satisfied with their work. I had no problems with them.

Absolutely no problems. Came and covered with blue tarp when initial problem occurred in a timely manner. Came back later when 2nd area was found leaking and placed tarp on that area also with understanding that no additional charge if I had them do roofing. Everything seemed to go seamlessly as far as shingle arrival, workmen, etc. Never saw any goofing off and they seemed to be working hard all the time any time I came outside and checked (I work at home). Haven't found any nails in yard and final inspection was flawless. Took two full days and the trash container disappeared at end of second day also. Joe Graham was our contact and he never failed to call us back if we had any questions. Always courteous and answered any dumb question we had.

Job was scheduled within 2 weeks of quote. The job was completed within 3 days. The site was kept neat during the job and cleaned thoroughly when the job was completed.

The final price was jacked up 35%. I carefully negotiated the price on the estimate and confirmed that the price included all parts of the roof. After demolition, the estimator came back and said that part of the roof had not been included in his estimate. Another portion of the roof ended up having to be repaired differently than originally planned (what do you do when the old roof is gone and they tell you you have to upgrade?) and some work was just overcharged. One example is that we were charged $210 to have two pieces of plywood cut and nailed up as soffit. No paint, no caulk, just one cut on each piece of wood and put up with a nail gun. The sales person tried to give us a made-up-on-the-spot explanation about the engineering being something particularly difficult on that part of the house - absolute malarkey! The quality of most of the work is good, but some is terrible. Parts of the fascia have huge gaps. The new roof also leaks in what appears to be the area around the chimney. After several months, multiple calls and a stern letter to the owner, they did send someone out who poured a lot of water in the problem area, but could still not determine the source of the leak. They promised to send someone else out with a device to help them hone in on the problem, but that has not happened. Still no repair, but that water did find its way to my plaster ceilings. On two different occasions during construction, we found laborers standing on a first floor roof area looking into second floor windows well after work had stopped for the day and the bosses had gone home. Part of the project was to have a chimney cap put in place. At the very end of the project, Collis said they didn't want the liability of that so I was on my own. Birds and bats in the house. Great. Regardless of assurances that this would not happen, my new gutters (put in place shortly before the Collis roof) were damaged and knocked out of alignment. I now even have one place where the soffit is deteriorating from water damage because of Collis skewing the gutters and altering the rain flow off of the roof. Collis put a nail through the electrical wiring in one of my ceiling fixtures creating a short that pops the circuit breaker when the light is turned on. I still have yet to get the electrician here - another $200 bill to look forward to. There have also been plenty of other nails as well - a flat tire and one through my shoe when mowing the yard. I continue to find them even 7 months after the job was completed. I repeatedly asked that the left over materials be left with me and multiple promises were made to ensure that would happen. Of course, it didn't. I have no record of the materials that were used should I want to re-roof my garage to match the materials on the house. I paid for that stuff and I negotiated that I wanted the left overs before work ever started. The biggest problem continues to be the leak that they won't fix!

I had 3 companies come out to give us an estimate. Joe was the only one that got on the roof and noticed that we had hail damage. When the insurance adjuster came out, Joe arrived 30 minute early, got on the roof, and highlighted the most damaged areas. And when the adjuster's estimate was under his, he contacted them and we received the additional funds. Prior to the work, Joe stopped by with shingle samples. He climbed on the roof and held up the samples since he said that was really the only way to tell what they'd really look like. The dumpster was delivered early on the first day of work as promised (6:45 am!). The work itself was completed in two days and done very well. Our yard was left clean of debris. The dumpster was removed the day after the work was completed as promised. The disruption to our life and the neighborhood was minimized. I would highly recommend Collis Roofing and Joe Graham as a representative in particular.

I am very satisfied with the attentive personnel at their office, they took the time to ask me questions so they would be prepared to address my needs. I am very much satisfied with the repair done to my roof, the roofers they dispatched to my house were on time, courteous, clean, and they certainly knew what they were doing, I have a dry garage now. I will call them again whenever I have a problem with my roof.

I was pleasantly surprised that all work was done as advised by the sales person. The work was done in a timely manner, within days of scheduling. Roofers were polite and decent (no construction attitudes or bad language). Once the work got started it seems to be finish in no time. Clean up was good, a few nails here and there but nothing extreme. My plants where covered so that they weren't damaged and I really appreciated that. Overall I had a good experience with my roofing company.

COLLIS ROOFING IS THE BEST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. THERE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND MY EXPECTATION.

They sold us on substandard materials and technique.

Materials initially sat on our roof for about 3 weeks before the workers showed up. Large work crew did excellent job and had entire roof completed in a day. Included having to replace plywood areas that had begun to rot near back porch area. Very professional crew they cleaned up everything very well and did an overall great job. Had large storms for three straight days after the job was completed, and skylights were less noisy than the old ones and we experienced no leaks any where on the roof. Had received lower bids from other companies and hesitated at first as too whether or not we were paying too much, but the crew was fast, professional and polite and we are very happy with the end result.

My experience could not have been worse. The sales person (Wally) promised me all the work would be complete in two weeks; it took them 3 MONTHS to complete. I watched 2 of their workers get in a fight in my front yard. Their framer quit from another fight with their delivery guy. It was one thing after another. They would tell me that the roofers were on their way and then they would just not show up; this happened for months. My roof failed inspection twice and I still don't know that it ever passed. And they left my yard a mess of nails and cigarette butts. I explained how important it was for them to use their magnet to get all the nails as I have a little girls that play in our yard. They never did and I am still finding their nails! It was a HORRIBLE experience and I would never recommend them to anyone!

I placed a call for repair and was told that the scheduler would get back with me. They were not very professional or friendly on the phone. I never heard back. So, I called again and explained that it was my second time calling, and was told again that they would get in back with me to schedule a time and I never heard back.

Requested Collis clean up the nails in the yard. This took two attemps to get it done, with only marginal success. I am still picking up nails one month later when walking around the yard, and have a bag full after being told that they could not find any.

Very bad. Representative said there would be a foreman on-site but there never was. None of the workers spoke English. A bundle of shingles was dropped on the roof & broke through causing structural damage. The force of this caused a light fixture to come loose from my kitchen ceiling. The clean up after the job was completed wasnt completed as there were hundreds of old staples & nails strewn over my yard & driveway. They never called for a final inspection. I would never call on them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone.

Excellent service, and the quality of work was as good as promised. Overall, I am very happy with the company.

I WOULD RATE THEM AS EXCELLENT BECAUSE THEY DID A GOOD JOB. THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL. IT TOOK THEM SOME TIME TO COMPLETE THE WORK. THEY WERE PUNCTUAL. I WOULD SAY THAT THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL.

THEY WERE TOO EXPENSIVE. ALL THEY WANTED WAS THEIR MONEY. THEY DO NOT HAVE VERY GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY DID FINISH THE JOB THOUGH AND GOT EVERYTHING DONE ON TIME.

THEY WERE IN AND OUT. THEY WERE VERY EASY TO WORK WITH. IF WE HAD AN ISSUE, WE CALLED THEM, AND THEY CAME RIGHT BACK OUT. WE ONLY HAD ONE ISSUE THAT THEY DID END UP FIXING, AND I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE OVERALL PRODUCT.

Collis did a great job installing our new roof and it looks wonderful. Other than waiting for the shingles (which were in short supply) we are very happy with their work.

It is hard to rate the strength and quality of the roofing workmanship until a catastrophic event (hurricane) happens. Visually, the front of the house looks good, but the back side of the roof does not. The size of the shingles in the back is uneven, and there are small strips of shingles in the back. The workers worked cleanly, however, small particulate asphalt debris was left behind (which could not be hand-picked obviously). They could have used a shop vacuum probably, as a blower would would not collect the material. There were few nails (not many)left behind, which is good. Not sure if there are any nails in the gutters, I did not check. They worked very fast, which may be good and bad. If the quality is good, then pace of work is a good thing. Because I had ordered a specialty shingle, the waiting period before work began was longer than four weeks. I am hoping this roof will last more than 20 years and sustain no hurricane damage in Orlando area during the next twenty years.

We received an immediate quote for having shingles put on our detached garage. A crew was available and came out the very next day to complete the work.

The work was completed in a timely manner and cleanup was adequate, although not stellar. Cost was in line with other roofers, but the completion date was better than most. When the roof was finished, I had a new leak around the chimney. Since weve not had a significant rain since then, I dont know if the repair was adequate. I had to call them back to finish repairs to problems with under-roofing, which we had discussed prior to work beginning. There was a language barrier between myself and the workers. They could not understand me when I tried to explain what was supposed to be done. The roofer did attempt to make everything right. The sales contact/supervisor told me to shut up at one time when I was commenting on problems. The secretaries and people answering the main office phone were often rude. (All this, of course, after the work had begun).

Great! They went above and beyond. They had my shingles in the warehouse, so I didnt have to buy them. It was a small job, but it could have cost much more than it did. They dont do gutter work, but the guy bent mine back into shape for me, saving me a service call by someone else. I will definitely contract with them again if I ever need roofing. Oh, and the estimate was free, and was done when it was convenient to me.

This is an excellent company. They are fast, reliable, serious, not one day late over projected termination period. They supplied us with first grade quality shingles and 30 pound felt underlay along with full code compliance. The county inspector approved the job with flying colors.

Due to the hurricanes, response from the company was almost none. It took over a month for them to come back to the house and put the shingles up, even though the shingles were sitting on our driveway for weeks. I believe the price was a little outrageous. The workers did not have water, so I gave all of them water (not good surpervision and making sure the crew is well hydrated when it is so hot). I Never received a bill to send in the money, but they did call demanding money. Finally they sent a bill, but still to this day have not received my paid in full receipt or any kind of warranty work.
