Mark found a leak in the coil and told me that he needed to inject a cooling agent (freon type) and that this would get the unit cooling again. He said that he would also inject a product he called 'Stop Leak' and that it may or may not stop the leak. Mark called his Carrier people to find out if the 2006 coil was still under warranty but it was not. He asked the Carrier rep for the cost of a replacement coil - it is very expensive for this 5 ton unit. He suggested several options in the event the Stop Leak does not work such as the fact that I may want to replace the air handler with a less expensive brand than Carrier as the cost would be close to the cost of a new Carrier coil and I would then have a 5 year warranty on the coil and other parts. I appreciated that he took the time to discuss alternative and did not try to push me into replacing the air handler . I had this same system looked at by Coastal Cooling in Dec. They also told me the coil leaked, did not try Stop Leak and suggested I replace the air handler with an expensive Carrier. They also charged me a much higher price for the work.

Our furnace stopped working. It was a weekend, but he came within hours. He changed the thermostat and checked the furnace. It needed a new motor. He installed a motor so we would have heat and then came back the next day with a motor that was the correct size for our furnace. Very pleasant and professional.

I have recommended Mark to family and friends. He had to do some additional work but he didn't even charge me for it. He had to hire another guy because there was more work than he thought it would be but he ate the cost for the additional help. Since the unit was put in it has been a day and night of a difference, the thermostat reads 79 degrees but it still feels cold and the air flow is a thousand times better than it was before he did the work. I had an issue with the thermostat and he said that he wasn't sure if he would be able to get here, then five minutes later he was here and said that he needed to fix it because he had just put it in. He stayed here for an hour or two and fixed it. He didn't charge anything; he said that I just bought the system so he thought it was not fair to charge me for it. What happened was that some of the thermostats haven't been manufactured to the quality they should be, again, he had to eat the cost of that. He is a smaller company and he has a lot of work but when I called him with an issue, he came right over, so that is kind of the guy he is, if he tells me he is going to do something, he is going to do it and he is going to do it right. I contacted other contractors and he was the only one that realized that the air-conditioning unit was undersized. At first, I didn't know if he was being honest because I didn't know anything about air conditioning and thought that he was just trying to sell me a larger unit that's more expensive, however I really feel the difference. It used to get really, really hot and humid and I would run the other air conditioner down to 74 degrees but it was still hot and uncomfortable and now I can leave it at 79 degrees, which is a huge savings on the electric bill too.

Recently moved in home and found old unit not cooling properly. Called Mark and he found a freon leak. Decided to replace old unit with a new one because old unit was 18 years old and had served out its usefulness. Work completed in a few hours..........went smoothly.
