Kinetico by Central Florida Water

Less than a year after we bought a 1060 Dechlorinator and had them install it, a pinhole leak developed in one of the pipes they put in on the outside of the house. I called for them to come out and repair it under the one year warranty, but when the service man came out (I wasn't home, just the wife) he said parts were guaranteed but not the labor or travel charges. What a joke. He charged us $175 to fix a pinhole leak. Stay away from these guys because what they say about warranties is worthless.

WOW!! Worst ever servicing job by any company ever. Over $350 to do a simple check on my system that is less than 3 years old! 2 hours after the serviceman left I just happened to go to my garage and my salt tank overflow was running all over my garage floor with about 60 pounds of liquidated salt and backwash mix! Stink and what a mess! Of course this was after 5 pm on a FRIDAY so message was left on the Kinetico by Central Florida answer machine. I fortunately knew how to by pass the controller so we had the good old hard-water for the weekend. Just waiting to see if someone will call back in the morning so we can get this fixed. In my mind a product like this is only as good as the service to keep it running... just like a vehicle! If they can't fix something broken, or break what isn't broken, doesn't matter how good the equipment might have been! As of 9:45 pm on SUNDAY we are using the bypass. Sure hope to hear from them soon. If not there will be a follow-up review and more info out on the internet reviews

Quality product installed and tested.

Most everything was good however there was an issue with rerouting it every so often. There was an issue with trusting what they said about their competitors. They basically put down their competitors and saying some of their statements were not true which forces me to research that. When I did research in advance it makes me concerned I was getting manipulative response. I even called the guy on something. The presentations are highly practice and rehearsed. They do this 6 times a day. When he had to reach to calculate something I stopped him and asked him how many times a day he does this and he said 6 and I said then you should know this number. He stopped what he was doing and looked at me. I will not be manipulated by a salesperson if I can help it and he irritated me. It was fine, and he was straight forward with me.

Installation went very well but we do have a little drain issue that they have been out to look at and are to come back and fix.

The salesman was punctual and very personable. He described the products and options and tested our water supply. He was not pushy. We selected the system for our needs. He left an estimate and we called in our order the next day. We paid nothing until we were satisfied with the installation. The installer was very good. He made a clean installation where we wanted the system. Although the system is expensive, it has the advantage of using potassium chloride instead of sodium chloride. Being on a low sodium diet I did not want sodium added to the water. An added advantage is no electrical connections and the double tank provide softened water even when one tank is being recharged.

You can't any get better than their ionization water treatment system and now we have very good water. We haven't had to do anything with the system since we got it a few years ago.

They only service Kinetico systems. So, they couldn't help me.

The thing I really liked about this system is that it employs essentially two tanks. When the system goes through its cycle, you don’t have to avoid using the water because when one tank is cycling then the other tank is just starting. So, there is no time during the day or night when you don’t have softened water. When one tank runs down, the other tank is initiated and then the tank which ran down goes through its cycle. I really like that idea. It was a little pricier than the other system. I would recommend them to friends, neighbors and family members. I would use them again too. They only tried to sell me a water softener. Then they sold me a water softener and I haven’t heard from them since. They said they would call me a year after the installation and it hasn’t been a year yet, but I haven’t heard from them. So, I am thrilled. I paid them $4790 for the whole job.

I was very happy overall with the service. The whole system was a bit more expensive than comparable systems from other manufacturers, but it really is maintenance free and has probably saved me the cost difference with lack of service calls or maintenance (just add salt and change the filters). The total installed price was exactly what he quoted me, no last minute surprises and he even gave me a credit for hauling away my old system (which was pretty much trashed anyways).
