Best Electric

Description of Work: They installed a new ceiling fixture requiring a new circuit and switch. It was a complicated job because of stud location in the switch wall. But they figured it out and I'm quite pleased with the quality of the job. It wasn't cheap, but it was a good value.

Description of Work: When our HVAC system needed to be replaced, we chose Best Electric, based on their reputation and long-term presence in the area. Unfortunately, we didn't have a glowing experience. The salesman who came out and did our estimate wrote us up for a system that the installers declared inadequate (and which also cost considerably more than the estimate.) Also, we were sold $400 worth of ductwork that didn't show up on the work order, so the installers knew nothing about it when they came out to do the installation. The company refunded us $200 of that amount because the installers also had to add a proper cut-off switch to meet code, which the salesman hadn't mentioned, and which the company said cost about $200. The only place we can get the odd-sized filters required is through Best Electric, as well, as they are not a standard size sold in the usual retail outlets. Most of these issues are due to the salesman's mistakes. On the positive side, the company has always responded promptly and the new system is working well.

Description of Work: My wife and purchased a house built in 1981 that has a few minor issues. I had a challenging electrical problem (a charged neutral wire) that myself and two other "electrically savvy" individuals tried/failed to track down. Carl showed up a few minutes early and worked with me ( my learning opportunity) to track down the problem. He freely offered advise and suggestions and relatively quickly found the TWO faulty outlets that were the problem. The suggestions and advise he provided me will save me hundreds of dollars in the coming weeks.
