Shawn was polite and capable. He made sure I knew everything he was doing and cleaned up as he worked. I would highly recommend this company, I received exemplary customer service even from even the receptionist when I first called.
Description of Work: I have an older house that had an older dish washer that I had not used in six months. The control panel was bad in it and it leaked water. They disconnected everything and cleaned up the water. They also called another company to come check my floor for water damage.

After reviewing their website the business appeared to be professional and exactly what we needed. We called for an estimate and they were available to come out the same day. My husband saw the Drain Team Van pull up so he met the service person at the driveway. I was watching from our office window. You could literally see the cigarette smoke cloud billowing all around the service tech as he stood in front of his van to meet my husband. Then he proceeded to put his cigarette out near the edge of our driveway. VERY unprofessional. We will not be calling them in the future.

It took multiple tries as the snake he was using wanted to take the opposite pipe at the Y junction. The provider was polite, professional and indicated that the Y junction in the pipe was the incorrect angle and should be replaced. This was a recent new septic tank and drain field installation so I elected not to change out the Y pipe until I spoke with the company that actually installed the new system as it should be under warranty if it is wrong. The provider also told me that I need to have the pipes and quot;jettedand quot; but at $1275, I thought that was just way to much for the job and elected not to have that service performed for now. They did offer me a one-time 30-day warranty on the job performed while I made up my mind about the jetting of the pipes. Overall I was happy with the service I just felt they were a little high on their prices.

Same person did the work as did the estimate. Late arriving due to prior job taking longer than expected; communication of delay could have been better. That being said, my job took much longer than estimated, but the price was not increased nearly as much as it could have been (maybe $100). Plumber's demeanor was pleasant/engaging without being distracting to completing work. Would definitely use them again, as long as same plumber (Wes) is available.
Description of Work: Remove old kitchen sink & install new one. Install P trap for sink & 2 duel angle valves; relocate under sink water filter system. Remove old triple knob shower/tub faucet system and install new single valve; reconfigure piping as required. Install 2 ball valves in shower/tub supply lines.

Excellent...He arrived on time and was very polite and a caring and a concerned attitude as to do a good job. I have not had a plumber this well versed and a smooth transaction job ever...The price was even under what they quoted which was a bonus too. I will call Steve again if I ever need work done as I have 10 single family rentals that at some point will need some sort of plumbing and not have to be stressed that I am going to get taken to the cleaners. I would reccomend him/company to anyone that wants the best and their moneys worth.
Description of Work: Very well informed..and patient. Made sure he collected as much information before starting job as I would consider efficient and caring.

I called and quot; The Drain Teamand quot; to make an appointment for Saturday morning and was told that only 8am could be guaranteed. I took it. The plumber arrived at 8:40am. I was told they and quot;did not hear me say 8amand quot;. I explained to the plumber that a PVC pipe by the pool had snapped off and I had to call an emergency plumber out the Sun night prior. It was capped and the plumber recommended copper piping instead of PVC due to the fact it was exposed to the sun causing it to become brittle over time and snap. He asked who the original plumber was and I told him. He said he had heard of him. He gave me a written estimate for and quot;repair broken pipeand quot; and I agreed. I was inside preparing for a party that night and came outside to check on him about 45 minutes later. He was nearly finished and had reinstalled the pipe with the same PVC! I told him that I wanted copper for the reason we discussed and he said he would have to charge me double to swap it out for the copper. He denied I ever told him about the copper pipe but recalled the name of the original plumber I discussed with him when he arrived. I called the office. He said he talked to the plumber who denied I ever mentioned the copper piping. He said he talked to the owner who said I needed to pay the original agreed upon amount as well as an additional charge of $75 (the plumber and I would and quot;split the additional cost of $150). I had no choice but to pay it because the work was done, though not to my specifications or instruction. He redid it with the copper piping but only after I agreeed to pay the additional charge. I would never recommend this plumbing company to anyone. That broken pipe repair was $640+ to put a new pipe and shut off valve on (original plumber charged $280 to come out and cap it off) . In addition, they appear to have selective hearing regarding appointment times and what work should be done which caused not only a delay in their arrival time, but additional costs at the owners expense. I was called a week later to see how my experience with their service was. I relayed my awful experience and the woman said she would have the manager call me....I never heard from him. After this, I joined Angies list.

Pipe bursting is an innovative technique that everyone should consider when having to replace sewer line.
Description of Work: I called on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, as my toilet and shower were not draining very well. Within an hour a gentleman name Darryl came to my house. He snaked the pipe and placed a camera down the line to assist with the diagnostics. The camera could not get past a certain point which baffled Darryl. He snaked with a longer apparatus, with no avail. It appeared that the original sewer pipe made of Orangeburg was collapsing. I agreed to have the line replaced and they returned bright and early on Monday and performed pipe bursting where they could. The computer room floor had to be jack hammered to tie into the kitchen line. The team completely cleaned up any and all messes that they created. Then they discovered they had to tie into a long piece of PVC that my husband ha replaced about 15 years ago and then out to the city's sewer line. They miraculously completed the work by 4:30 on Tuesday and the inspector came on Wednesday morning and everything passed the inspection. This was a horrific job that was managed and directed by Darryl in a very short period of time and I appreciate that more than I can express. I recommend the Drain Team for any type of plumbing issues that you may have. Darryl is a true gentleman and a kind and giving soul.

The drain team technician came out on a Wednesday to check on my problem. I showed them the one toilet that was at issues and clogged. They insisted that we needed all of the pipes cleared through a special process of string jetting that would cost $1,000,00 normally $1,500 but they had the equipment at another job and could come by late that day and take care of it at the and quot;reducedand quot; rate. They came out and began the process on a Wednesday night but would return on Thursday to finish the job. They returned on on the next day, Thursday, to complete there job. They told us they discovered our sewer plumbing under the house was an antiquated material called and quot;orangeburgand quot; and it was crititcal problem and to use minimal water and that the replacing of the pipes would cost around $8,000 and they would have to cut 9 feet of concrete foundation to do the job. Not believing their expert opinion, I had them come back out and we discovered that they had dug up a short piece of this antiquated and unserviceable and quot;orangeburgand quot; pipe that was not connected to any drain system for the house. They also, with me present directing them, located my home's actual drain system that is cast iron and in good condition. Not even acknowledging the error, they tried to tell me that the cast iron sewer pipes were in poor shape and a problem waiting to happen and I should replace them for a reduced rate of around $4,000. I called a qualified plumber out, who recommended I put in a clean out for $400 and he told me the cast iron sewer pipes were fine and did not need to be replaced. They still work well as I write this review. Now back to the reason I called THE DRAIN TEAM, the clogged toilet. On the final day the Drain Team was at my house, I had to take matters into my own hands and told them to REMOVE THE TOILET AND CLEAR THE LINE AS THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE IN THE FIRST PLACE. They did this and found a very simple clog which was cleared. I can not believe a business would conduct themselves in this manner. I found their entire approach deceptive.

I called for an appointment for a bathroom estimate. This went fine. But, 6 PM came and went and then I get a call at 7:04 PM that there is a delay and I would receive and update call. No update.I call 2/29/2012 and explain I still would like an estimate, set another appointment for 6 PM. Get a call about 3 PM and told a bunch of stuff unrelated to an estimate for the work. I kept advising I want 3 water valves replaced, a toilet set, advise on a shower pan and have them replace the shower valve/fixture. I get an off the cuff "estimate" without ever being seen of $1300-$1500. Excuse me? To set a toilet and replace 4 valves and I buy all the parts. You must be kidding me? I'm supposed to meet with the plumber now, on Saturday, 03/03/12. At 4 PM on Saturday I received a call from dispatch that "my" technician had his the current job become more involved than expected and he would be unable to meet with me. I was offered a Sunday visit which I declined as we are busy with church and family time on Sundays.I believe on Monday, 03/05/12, I will ask my name be removed from their job board. I have my contractor due on 03/12/12 and Drain Team has left me without an estimate and absolutely NO confidence that they will show up and/or perform work for me.I am really, really disappointed. Drain Team was highly recommended by a co-worker and I was confident that the Angie's List scores reflected a company that would be timely and professional.

The thought of a plumbing leak under the concreate slab of your home is a scary thing. Well, the drain team is a perfect example of what we as consumers dream of finding...a team of people who say what they mean and deliver. They are courteous, professional and they restored my faith in the term "world class customer service." They showed up on time, took every precaution to keep everything clean and as they found it. They walked me through the entire process and best of all, fixed the hot hot water line in just a few hours. I would recommend The Drain Team to anyone.
Description of Work: Underground leak in hot water line. The drain team recommended a "leak detection" company which used numerious methods to "exactly" pinpoint the underground leak which was between the kitchen and dining room. The drain team then arrived the next business day, opened the floor, replaced the pipe, backfilled the hole and replaced the concrete. They also replaced the toilet assembly in one of the bathrooms.

The staff at the Drain Team are very professional and polite on the phone when they take your information and arrange for a tech to get out to you as soon as possible. I called right away Monday morning the 13th of June needing garbage disposal help, since ours broke some blades over the weekend. The Drain Team contacted Chris and he was at my house around 1:30pm that afternoon. Was very informative about the different types of disposers that were on the maket. Decided to have Chris install a .5hp Badger disposer. Chris had the old one off and the new one on and all cleaned up with paperwork done in just over an hour after arriving. This is not the first time that I have used The Drain Team. We have used them for drain cleaning and jetting service several years ago which they did an awesome job on. We also bought from then a new hot water heater and had them install it along with an extended warranty for a price that could not be matched. It seems that every year we end up calling on The Drain Team for something or another that goes wrong in our house or even in my parents house, and each and everytime we receive just top notch service and very professional service from The Drain Team. I have no problem recommending them to my friends, family, or neighbors for any of their plumbing needs. Thank you very much Drain Team.
Description of Work: Our garbage disposal of over 14 years old finally broke on us. I contacted drain team on Monday morning and they were out by early afternoon the same day to install a brand new garbage disposal at a very resonable price.

I am going with someone else who is totally willing to work with my schedule and situation.
Description of Work: On the positive side, the Drain Team had someone that answered the phone immediately when I called, which was great. I love it when companies answer the phone directly. I called to arrange an estimate for French Drains on a house that I help my grandmother with. It would be very costly and difficult for me to fly there for every estimate, so I wanted to get the estimate now, and I would start the work as soon as I could be there. The Drain Team said it would be impossible for them to take a look and wouldn't even give an estimate for the work I wanted...insisting "surely I could be there." They said the reason they wouldn't give the estimate is that I would have to show them where the water was pooling, just in case it dried up. Frankly, I'm not there every day so there's no value in me speculating where the water is pooling. But aside from that, it seems to me that a company that is an expert is this should be willing and able to give me some solid advice on where these drains should run based on the grading and other characteristics of the yard so she doesn't have problems down the road versus being stuck if she or I can't show them where the water is. And yes, I do understand if your estimates aren't very clear or there's a lot of risk in the work being done, discussing the work face-to-face might be important versus discussing over the phone, but I do meet face-to-face prior to the start and remain for the duration of any project. I have worked with many companies that provide exterior services (painters, landscapers, pool, deck, roof, gutters, etc) and I have never had someone not willing to work with me on the estimate. That said, not everyone is helping an elderly grandmother so this company might be great if your situation is different from mine, but for me it definitely raised some questions about how they might deal with any other issues I had, so I decided to go with someone else for now.

The Drain team had to use several snakes, to try to unclog what ever was causing a huge backup in the main plumbing line. The used a camera to see down th pipeline from the front yard to the neighbors yard. Unfortunately, the stoppage was located on the neighbors side , but our line, and we ended up have to call in the city. Fortunately, the city picked up that part of the tab. The Drain Team has always been great to us, and we will continue to use their services as we need them.

Thanksgiving night, just moved into the house 3 days prior. Had been unpacking all day, decided to clean up, took a shower, then started the washing machine. the washing machine flooded the utility room, lanai and the toilet backed up into the tub. Fun night but I chose The Drain Team because they had an ad that said no extra charges for nights/holiday. Since I had just closed and moved, money was/is tight. Anyway the lady said it sounded like a main line backup and they could have someone out in a couple of hours. They quoted approx. $250 - $350 but when they got to the house the drain has an access pipe in the front so the price went down to $175. The guy ran a snake through the line, was very thorough, made sure the line was running well before he left. Gave me a 30 day warrenty. the next Monday the shower started backing up. Tuesday was worse so I called and scheduled them to come out Wednesday. The guy snaked the line again and recommended a descale and use the camera, buildup was probably what was causing the backups. Unfortuneately I didn't have the money for that and made a comment about having a 30 day warrenty. He told me if he had to come back they would charge me again. So it's not really a 30 day warrenty, just an extra visit. The problem is still not fixed.
Description of Work: came out on Thanksgiving night, snaked the main line. Had to come back on Dec 1 to snake the line again. recommended descale and camera.

Overall, it went well. Dan was extremely nice, courteous and professional. My house is in a complete mess due to moving boxes being everywhere. He didn't seem to mind and worked around it. I was also impressed by Dan's honesty. He could have told me that I needed to fix the other things he looked at right away. He then could have offered me some "deal" to fix them today. I would have declined and gotten a second opinion. But I appreciate the fact that he did not pressure me into repairs that I did not request. Instead, he was honest with me and told me that nothing "needs" to be done at the moment.
Description of Work: Dan from the "Drain Team" came out and replaced the seal between the toilet's holding tank and the toilet bowl. The seal had dried and cracked from a combination of lack of use and the hard water in this area. He also replaced all the internal parts in the toilet tank. Then, he checked out a few potential problems that I might have had with other plumbing issues, no extra charge. He concluded that the other issues were fine for now and that I should just keep an eye on things.

Early on Saturday evening water started pouring out of our master bath into adjacent rooms and through walls. We quickly shut off the master water line but could determine the source of the water. We needed someone out in a hurry for the closest leak detection company nearby, as plumbers cannot fix a leak until they find the source. The Drain Team was our first result. They sent someone out within the hour (a subcontractor used by many local plumbers - I will review them separately); at the same time I called a water extraction service (which I will also review separately). The technician was polite, clean, and did a good job communicating what he was doing and why; we were pleased with the referral. He determined the problem was blockage, not leak and that the water was coming from the commode's broken wax seal. The Drain Team plumber came out shortly thereafter to clear the main sewer line and to remove the toilet, replace the seal, and reset the toilet. The plumber was also clean, polite, and knowledgeable. He used a camera to determine that we would need both a de-scaling of the old cast-iron pipes as well as a re-plumbing of the lines in the yard; he left an estimate and also encouraged us to get estimates from other providers. We are in the process of doing so, but will most likely go back to the Drain Team for repairs.

Fantastic service! Saw ad in yellow pages, checked their review on Angie's List and called them because their ad said they do emergency calls and do not charge extra for the service. Great service including the person that took my call, promising someone within the hour even though I didn't need service that quickly, to the fantastic technician that explained everything along the way in detail, cleaned up afterwards and explained the warranty and other services they offer. Very professional and I didn't feel "ripped off" with a hefty weekend emergency fee.

A little disgusted with cost. When I called the company they informed me that they have no service charge, which I thought was great. Only problem is it cost $95 to shake a stick in my toilet for about 3 seconds. I called to let them explain, and they explained that is what they charge for that service. So be wary of no service charge. It didn't save me a dime.
