Founded in 1927, Terminix is the largest termite and pest control company in the world, safeguarding over 4.1 million homes and businesses against all types of pests. Our company consists of 864 service locations in 45 U.S. states and 14 countries internationally. For decades, our team of skilled entomologists has studied all types of insects to ensure that our pest and bug exterminators can give our customers the most complete protection from infestation.
My wife and I were happy with Terminex when we lived in Georgia, so we decided to use them when we moved to the Tampa Bay area. Big mistake. These are a few of the problems that we had with Terminex: 1. We had to deal with a dead rat in our attic because the person who set the traps never came back to check them regularly, so our house was filled with large disgusting flies we had to fight for about 6 weeks. Terminex didn't even offer an apology. 2. We scheduled for our house to be fumigated, so we boarded our pets and rented a condo for the weekend. They never showed up to tent the house. The manager, Mark, just kept saying they would come "today". I kept asking him for a time, and he couldn't give me one. Well, they never showed up. After pulling teeth, we finally got reimbursed. We had to wait more than a month for reimbursement. We hired a local company to do the job, and they fumigated our house with no problem on the days that they promised. 3. After cancelling our contract, Terminex said they have to come and pull all of the termite bait stations from the ground. Most of these bait stations were left in the ground by the previous owner, so Terminex doesn’t own these stations, they’ve only been filling them. Please don’t use this company. They are terrible. They overcharge you for services that they can't even provide properly.

Terminix has inspected my home repeatedly for termites. I was told on prior occasions that there was no evidence. They just walked around the house and the interior for a short time. At the time I was obtaining estimates for roof replacement, one of the estimators went under the roof into the truss area and there was obvious and visible evidence of termite infestation AND damage. After other inspections I was informed that this damage occurred over a lengthy period of time and the inspections should have discovered the infestation. Terminix conducts no REAL inspection. All they do is market their overpriced products. I also googled the company and they are notorious for hiring incompetent subcontractors and employees, at one time paying millions of dollars in fines and damages. STAY AWAY. THERE ARE LOCAL COMPETENT PEST COMPANIES WHO WILL DO THE JOB. MAKE CERTAIN OF PROPER LICENSING, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND GET REFERRALS. STAY AWAY FROM THESE COMPANIES WHO EXCEL ONLY IN MARKETING LIKE TIME SHARE COMPANIES.
