Never responded to my request for a quote. What good is being on Angie’s List if you’re not going to respond. At least respond that you’re not interested.

The process was longer than determined or expected, but the result was well worth it. We expanded our front and back deck, put down travertine, completed pool resurfacing, salt water system installed.

I had Sunsations re-do my pool several years ago, and they did a good job. Part of what they did was to change the railing on the steps going into the pool, at my request, so that it was anchored at the deck level, and in the pool itself. Unfortunately, this was a poor choice, and, the railing is rusting away. Since I had used Sunsations before, I wanted to use them again to replace the railing. I called, left a message, and was called back the next day, the only reason that they are not getting an "F". The receptionist told me that a sales person would call me, and he did. He remembered my original job, and said that the would call the next week, and set up an appointment to see what needed to be done. And then.... nothing. No call, no appointment, no apology, not even "That's just not something we are interested in". I was disappointed, but, I can't say that I am surprised. This job was just not big enough to merit their interest, is my guess. Whatever the reason, when time comes to resurface the pool again, Sunsations will have lost a customer, and I will give my opinion if I am ever asked

Very responsive to request for estimate, as well as professional in all interaction. My spouse and I elected to redirect the cost of this project to improvements inside our house, so this project will be on-hold until we have the funds saved to commit to this effort in the future. Recommend giving them an opportunity to earn your business if you are considering a pool remodel project.

All in all a good experience. Liked all the subs, very friendly, professional, especially tile & screen folks. Steve, owner, was friendly and easy to get a hold of. Josephine was helpful as well as Lawrence. I know we made the right choice.

Excellent experience involving renovation of pool with Pebble Sheen finish and conversion to salt system along with nearly 1800 square feet of pavers installed. Very professional contractor oversight and crews working on site were outstanding. At the end of each work day our property was left clean and orderly throughout the 3 week process. Completed project on schedule as contracted and with high quality. I highly recommend Sunsation Pools.

Looks great. Took longer than expected. Some weeks worked only 1 day.

Very Courteous - great company - on time - cleaned up after themselves - you would not even know they were here.

At the time that I paid my deposit all I knew was that Lawrence would call me a week ahead of my resurface job. I never heard from them...so I finally called them on 12/12/16....Josephine called me the next day and said they would be here on 19th or 20th. They were a "no show"....so I sent my original sales person (Craig) an email on 12/20/16. Craig responded back by email and told me to call Josephine....unfortunately I did not make the call. The next day 12/21/16 at 9:30 a.m. there were two men that showed up (no phone call to let me know) to do the "demo"...I was surprised at how bad the interior of our pool was stained....and that they drained the pool over the bank into the wetland area (they said it wouldn't affect the wetland area) instead of out to the curb. The two managed to save my existing tile (I still had a box of it in the garage but they didn't want it) and only chipped a few tiles. They worked on a couple of hollow spots (didn't even acid wash the surface?) and covered the surface in a very sparse dark black/gray primer(?). Next day a large crew showed up at 11:45 a.m. to do the resurface....I was told this was their second pool of the day. Everything was "eyeballed" by this crew....top step in deep end is crooked! When they had the finish fairly smooth (maybe a little too thin in shallow end?) they poured muric acid in a watering can, added water with my hose, and then poured it around the tile edge of the pool and used my hose to rinse it....this left streaks and dark spots.....they left at 4:00 p.m. and left my hose filling pool. I was instructed by Josephine to not shut off hose and to call when pool was full on 12/23/16. Steve came out on 12/23/16 @ 3:30 p.m. and added 4 gallons of muric acid....two bottles in deep end and two in shallow end by jets. I got written instructions, a water fill certificate and paid him the final payment. Company has not even checked to see if I am happy with their work.....unfortunately I can still see all the streaks and dark spots (surface too thin?) that were there before the pool was filled with water. The original estimate was that it would take approximately 3-4 days to complete this resurface....I feel that they rushed the job since they were here for only a total of 11 hours.....I guess I got what I paid for.....it at least looks a pretty blue color....probably thanks to my daily brushing!

Had a delay to start of remodel due to weather. All else went well! Very pleased with sensation pools!

The job was completed on time and on budget. The crew was skilled, diligent, and friendly, and the company was a pleasure to work with from design through the completion of the project.

We had a guy come out to give an estimate on resurfacing our pool. First of all, his quote was $1,000 higher than 2 other Angie's list companies I had out for estimates. But even worse, he was incredibly rude the entire time he was here. He was insulting and rude. He very rudely told me how terrible our patio looks and how I need to do weeding by my pool deck. Nothing but insults, rude tones, and a super high quote. Definitely won't be using this company!

Steve first showed up with a Full packet with jobs that were done and info from owners that they had worked for already. Plus their BBB rating and their Business License and certificate of liability insurance. Steve and Josephine are the best and truly listen to your every need in every way possible. Steve asked what we wanted done, told him a new patio using old pavers for new Pond and Waterfall area. We went into the store to meet Josephine to pick out the travertine pavers. For the new extended lanai area that is 35 x 41 ft. Patio by the pond area is 15 x 29 with 4 ft walkway on back of the pond area. Josephine listened to our had a fantastic idea for the pavers and we loved it. They also drained spa and put pavers under it and railing for shallow end steps that we provided. They both exceeded our best dreams and wishes in every way possible. We were happy to see that Steve was the owner because we were going to tell the owner what a great job that Steve & Josephine provide this great company. Steve is always looking out for ways to save his customers money and they also did install a 2" deco drain to replace our old one. The back looks like a fantastic five star hotel back yard. Everyone loves the way it looks and ask who did the work and we tell everyone what a great job you did for us.

Excellent high quality work. Great recommendations and ideas by Bruce during the initial estimate. Excellent follow-up, communication and coordination by Josephine in the office. She really did a great job keeping both the workers and the project on track. Had a couple of minor concerns that were addressed immediately and without hassle. Considering the scope of the project and my attention to detail, their reaction to my concerns are what made the company shine. Thanks to Josephine for making the process fun along the way...........I had to love her reaction when I told her that my pool finish turned from blue to fuchsia overnight. A+ for having a sense of humor.

The workmanship came out very well. I have no criticism about that. The problem is that I wanted it done in the beginning of March. It dragged on for over two and half months. I was promised four jets for the spa, and it has been a month and now I'm being brushed off and they keep telling me the supply department is who takes care of it, but I have contacted them about four times and I keep getting brushed off. After the project was mostly completed, this is how long I've been waiting for the jets. And I have already paid them in full.

As estimated the job took 4 days. The crews were always on time, finished each day ahead of schedule and left no mess. Their workmanship was excellent and there were no surprises. We are extremely happy with the results.

Craig the salesperson spent time explaining what would occur and answered any questions we had. Josephine, the associate, at the office kept us informed of the various timelines, and the technicians performing their services did them diligently and with courtesy. We were well satisfied with the complete transaction and have no hesitancy in recommending them to others for this type of work to be performed.

Sunsation did a good job on my pool, which was looking pretty bad with an old marcite finish. It certainly looks much better now, and my pool service technician, who doesn't work for Sunsation and seems to know quite a bit about pools, says they did a good job. Although work started a day later than promised, otherwise scheduling went smoothly throughout the process. Josephine, the office contact person, communicated with me clearly and consistently at each stage, and the estimate done by Craig was clear and prompt (if a bit higher than it could have been). After a bad experience with another, cheaper, provider, I needed the pool done pronto and wasn't in a position to negotiate a lower price. Sunsation was able to schedule the work pretty quickly and, as I said, the pool looks good. Two gripes: when the pool was drained lots of chlorinated water leaked into my back yard, killing what little grass was there; it will probably grow back, but I felt the draining should have been done more carefully. Also, Lawrence, the guy who came to finalize the job and collect the balance of my payment did not clearly explain how to brush the sides and floor of the pool in order to protect the new finish. In fact, the need for this follow-up treatment by the pool owner should have been explained to me before the resurfacing began--I knew nothing about it, and what if I had had to be out of town during period just after the work was done?! This could have been a serious problem. Lawrence did not correctly explain what equipment to use to scrub the walls (we had to figure this out ourselves then go in search of the correct type of brush). In addition, when I phoned him for guidance and left a voice message, he never even bothered to return my call, although during our meeting he had gone on at great length about how important it was to him to be accessible and responsive. That kind of behavior leaves a bad taste.

Craig Tennant gave us a very thorough estimate and helped to educate us on pool renovations. He has over 30 years of experience. We interviewed several companies and during this process changed our minds about what we wanted to do with the deck and what interior finish we wanted in the pool. We then asked our top 3 estimators to adjust their estimates so that the materials matched. Craig was slow to respond both by email and by telephone over a period of 2-3 weeks on several questions so we decided to eliminate his company even though the estimated price was good.

We received estimates from three companies that were highly rated on Angie's List to install pavers on our existing pool deck and lanai. All three companies provided prompt, competitive and thorough estimates, answered all our questions, and were very professional and courteous. That said, Sunsation Pools & Spas was the only one that provided a packet of information that included paver, tile and coping brochures, a copy of their business license and certificate of liability insurance, a list of residential customer references, Angie's List customer reviews and copies of Angie's List Super Service Awards, BBB report, and a written estimate. We spent several months deciding whether or not to proceed with the project and which company to hire. What finally sold us on Sunsation Pools & Spas was a visit to their office in Largo where we discussed our project with Josephine, reviewed photos of other jobs they had done, and looked at samples of coping and pavers. She played a big part in our decision to use Sunsation Pool & Spas. We wanted to have the job done in late fall, so Josephine said she would call us as soon as a date opened up. As promised she called and we settled on a start date. The week before the job was scheduled to start she called to say that the pavers would be delivered to our house that Friday and to find out exactly where we wanted them placed. She also said that their crew would be at our house on Monday morning to start the job. On Friday the pavers were delivered by a very courteous man who placed the pallets exactly where we had requested them. On Monday, a crew of six arrived and set right to work. The job supervisor introduced himself at the start, explained again what they would be doing, and kept us informed every step of the way. Everyone had a job to do, and everyone knew exactly what needed to be done. By the end of the day they had removed and replaced the old coping, removed and replaced the drains, and had installed more than two thirds of the pavers. At the end of the day the supervisor said that two workers would be back in the morning. Promptly the next morning, the two workers arrived and set right to work. They finished setting all the remaining pavers, and cleaned up the worksite before leaving. The following day, the supervisor returned with a helper to wash down the pool enclosure, clean and seal the pavers. Josephine called to tell us they were sending someone the following day to clean the pool and to install the doors. There was a slight delay getting the doors back from the company that was resizing them, but, the pool was cleaned and the doors reinstalled as promised. From start to finish this was one of the best companies we have ever worked with. They kept us informed every step of the way, the workers were polite, knowledgeable, and very hardworking, and the work got done quickly and professionally. The results are beautiful, and we are highly satisfied.

I've been on Angie's List 10+ years and this is the first bad review I've ever left. Point is, I give people some slack and don't expect perfection, but this experience was a waste time and caused a setback to my plans. I was surprised to endure this from a company that I was willing to spend $4,000 + with.

I needed major repairs on my 22 yr. old pool. After some research and good reviews (illegible) - I contacted Sunsation Pools - from the office (Josephine) - to the salesman - (Bruce) - to the repairs (Don) - everyone was responsive and helpful in bringing this daunting task to a happy conclusion.

I contacted this company via Angie's list and received a prompt reply that a sales person would contact me. After 2 days waiting I pinged them again via Angie's messaging. After 7 days waiting I found another provider....if they are unresponsive during the sales process I can only imagine how the services delivery might go.

Made trip to Largo location to select pavers and design before signing agreement. Josephine was helpful then and she provided follow up once job started. Several week lead time before work stared. Job started one day late because of weather (very bad weather). Crew was of good quality and worked full days to complete job as soon as possible. Liked the crew but because of noise and dust we all wanted to get it over as soon as possible. Crew was pulled one day to assist with other work somewhere else. We were kept informed when events would occur and updated on job progress and expected completion date. (Some additional river rock had to be removed and an additional $400. cost was added to original agreement. The extra charge was annoying because I had the job rebid to be sure the scope of work was correct before signing. I went along with the extra charge but think an expected 5% contingency would have avoided this irritant.) Ended up with enough extra pavers to make repairs and small changes in the future. Overall was satisfied with company, admin., workers, material, and price. It is too early to tell how the new pavers will wear over time but expect to be satisfied.

Overall, quality of work was excellent. Complaint: original estimate failed to take into account the need for hydro-blasting, which added another $1400. to the original estimate threw the job off schedule.
