The house we had bid on was beautiful from the outside, but completely dilapidated on the inside. We were buying while living in another state and so were buying a house without physically coming to see the property. The realtor, who was representing her sister in the sale, omitted critical information, knowing which we never, ever would have bid on the house. She also blatantly lied when asked about the roof and when it had last been replaced. She said the roof was replaced 7 years ago, which turned out to be untrue. Some parts of the roof were patched 7 years ago. The rest was leaking, and the entire roof desperately needed a complete replacement. The agent also omitted the fact that the plumbing and wiring were all original - 100 years old, with copper wire coated in cloth, the fact that there is asbestos on the property, presence of vermin, and dozens of other problems that a home inspection immediately uncovered. We withdrew the bid of course, and bought a wonderful property shortly after, but we did spend $500 on a home inspection that we were fooled into requesting. If our questions had been answered truthfully, we would not have needed a home inspection because we'd have never bid on the place. Norene Williams and this agency denied knowing anything, and ignored all our calls and emails. I would never use these services or any service provider associated with them, and would advise anyone else to find a professional realtor who complies with ethical codes and Florida laws that require realtors to disclose information.
