Matt called before he arrived and explained the problems we were having with the thermostat. Ended up purchasing a new programmable thermostat and had the unit tuned up and all is working great! Matt was so positive and professional and explained their other programs for plumbing and electrical too, and since we purchased a fixer upper and not sure of what all we got going on here, we made the decision to go with the Total Home Care plan for the piece of mind. VERY happy with the service and love the new programmable thermostat!

The techs that come out are very professional. The office staff, I can not say that. There is one particular one that answers the phone all the time. The last experience they took care of the problem but it had been there for 6 months.

They called prior to arrival and completed all work on time.

Originally had Performance come out and inspect the A/C on the home we just purchased. Mike Cotnoir was very professional and knowledgeable. They were on time and offered, in detail, options for us to review and services they provided. Though we did not need them for the A/C we did find out the offer dryer vent cleaning. We called back scheduled an appointment. Rich Lehman came out, again on time, serviced and cleaned the vent. Now we only dry our clothes ONCE! Would recommend Performance and their staff to others. If you like details, professionalism, cleanliness, then Performance Air is who you should call. Even got a kick out of these guys putting on foot booties when they came in our home and that was much appreciated.

After the work was performed, I contacted the company about the 20% senior?discount displayed on their profile. The service provider told me that I did not qualify for it because that discount only applied to service and not new equipment. They bundled the equipment and service together on the bill so I couldn't tell which was which.?I think they did an excellent job with the work itself and they were very professional and efficient workers, but it seems to me that I should have qualified for some kind of discount even if it was just for the service.?I don't think they did this purposefully but it needs to be clarified if there certain stipulations to receive the 20% senior discount The Owners; Terry Stable's position was very deceptive and therefore I am not satisfied with his level of customer service ,but I had no problem with the technicians. I believe that other members should know about the issue with senior discounts so they can take it into consideration before getting a service by this company.

TRANE system has had a significant amount of condensation on it since they installed it in April. We waited until July for them to finish the job after countless phone calls and holes in the ceiling, they finally figured out a way to run the duct line. The duct line was the only reason we ordered the new system because the sales rep said they couldn't do it with our current unit. Left the holes in the ceiling from failed tries and left exposed duct which we admittedly were OK with, but they cut the hole too big so now we have to have additional drywall repairs done. System is still sweating, but I'm tired of dealing with this company. Months and countless hours spent scheduling, waiting and explaining is just too much.

The service man spent more time writing up an estimate to repair the unit for $3000 and write up another estimate for a new unit of $6861, but as I stood right next to him he opened the door to the air handler looked in and closed it, saying the motor was dead, no testing was done. After he left the house, I called Senco Air Conditioning to get a second opinion. So I paid another $90 for a diagnostic service call. However, this service man really did do testing and diagnostics, he was a true professional. Upon completion, of his examination, I was told that the ECM module needed to be replaced. The total cost of the repair was $366 including tax and guess what, the air conditioner is working just fine and did not have to be replaced. I do not trust Performance Air Conditioning and am now wondering if I needed the air conditioner they sold me 7 years ago. I highly recommend Senco Air Conditioning to be an honest and reputable company.

The Preventative Maintenance went well for the most part. It took two separate days to do the front and back systems. I sent the technician home after completing the front system. He was working with a bad back and I did not want him to do further harm to it because the air handler to the back system is in a location that is very difficult to get into. I agree with other reviewers about the technicians trying to sell up the customer on new or replacement parts, ostensibly as part of their preventative care maintenance (PCM) review. New surge protection was recommended for the back unit ($213 discounted price after 15% discount offered by Option B of the PCM annual contract). The units were purchased with new surge protection in 2008 however this surge protector is the newer and better model. Between P/Ms the "variable speed motor and module" went on the back unit causing the back of the house to be without A/C. I was annoyed to learn that this very common part was not available locally and that they would have to order it from a Sarasota distributor which would take about a week even though Sarasota had it in stock. I told Performance that I would drive down there to get the part -- it's only 50 miles away! Then, I was mortified to hear that I would have to pay $30 for handling because Sarasota was not an authorized Trane reseller or whatever. The part was procured, installed within two days and I paid the thirty bucks. Part II of the P/M had another technician come out to do the back unit. I finally broke down and bought the UV Lamp for the back unit due to black mould (they finally wore me down with recommendations and I researched the efficacy of germicidal lamps in air handling systems -- BTW I'm a clinical microbiologist). The second tech recommended a UV lamp on the front unit however my experiment is to compare for myself the efficacy of germicidal irradiation between both systems. I am documenting the progress with photos. FYI - Replacement UV bulbs are $144 each (discount price) and recommended to be replaced every year. I told Performance that ozone builds up on the lamps and reduces their efficiency. Aside from the selling up practice and being at being at a repair person's mercy/honesty, I guess I could say that when it comes to A/C systems it's better be with the devil that you know than the one you don't. For the time being, I am staying with Performance however I am keeping my feelers out for an unbiased authority to provide me a second opinion. One last thing, Performance could do a better job picking up after themselves, especially when your air handler is in an attic with cellulose insulation that is located over a close closet.

We had set up back to back appointments the previous week. He (Jim) showed up exactly on time. The units were overdue for maintenance and he explained exactly what was necessary (and the cost of a couple of replacement parts). The work was finished ahead of time with no mess or fuss. We made the decision to sign up for their semi-annual maintenance program becasue of our satisfaction.

They keep trying to sell me things that I don't think we need, I feel like they never do anything. I feel very dissatisfied with this company. They have a unit that is transferred and they will put it in the air handler and it is suppose to be an electronic filter.

I have contracted with Performance Air Conditioning for many years for maintenance service on my old A/C system. I have always been satisfied with their quality service. When it was time to replace the A/C system, Performance provided me with three system options and quotes, and explained each system in detail, which allowed me to make an informed decision. Mark was very knowledgable and thorough with the system details. This job was a major overhaul of the A/C system, which took two days to complete due to the new air duct installation, and moving the air handler from the attic to the garage. The crew arrived on time and worked a full day each day to complete the job. Performance supplied me with a portable A/C unit until the job was complete. They had a full crew available each day to get the job done on time, and they met the commitment. I am very pleased with the work they performed and the system that they installed. Performance is a very professional company with a knowledgeable and pleasant staff in both sales and service. They are extremely responsive and always available to answer any questions that you have. I highly recommend Performance Air Conditioning for repairs and replacement systems. I personally know of two other homeowners that use Performance Air Conditioning and they are extremely satisfied with the service and will continue to use them.

Very disappointed--At first they were trustworthy and did good quality air and heating maintanance and repair. Now they in my opinion seem to have become "swamp land in Idaho" salesmen.

I was told that if I had any problem, they would come out a right away, but this was no true. They didn't want to check anything; they just wanted to sell products. I'm not happy with this company.

I find them to be reasonably priced, fair, and honest. They have treated us very kindly. They have been punctual. I have an annual contract with them. The overall experience has been excellent.

They are great. The price was very reasonable compared to other companies. I really like the understanding of the service man and the fact that he seemed to know what he was doing. I do plan on continuing to use them.

I asked how soon they could come out. They told me the next day. It was a day and a half job and they were very courteous and good at their jobs. They were extremely knowledgeable. I felt like I was really dealing with true professionals. They were wonderful.

We bought an annual agreement with them. They were very thorough and on time. They came when they said they would. They spent a lot of time. They are reliable. I think they are very knowledgeable and professional. I thought the price was reasonable. The staff is very nice. I would recommend them to other people.

The guy seemed to be honest. He seemed to be okay and the price was right. I found him on Angie's List.

It went very well. They were competent and fixed the problem quickly. They did trouble shooting and repair on the air conditioner. They did maintenance after that. They cleaned the units.

They are really service oriented. The people there are very professional, they put booties on their feet when in your home. They are prompt and they solve any problems you have.

We were very pleased with the thoroughness of the serviceman and his communication with us during the repair and checkup. He spent quite a lot of time checking out our unit after he had made the repair. We are pleased that to have finally found an Air Conditioning repair service that we trust and which will be responsive to our needs. Performance Air was chosen because of their rating on Angie's list and the comment from previous clients.

Called in request during the late morning and got same day service by 2:15pm, exactly as estimated. The service receptionists were very pleasant and competent, and I received advance notice when the service technician was on his way. The technician identified the problem within about 30 min and presented his best and worst case scenarios--repair burnt wire for about $300, replace compressor for about $2000, or replace whole A/C unit for $6000+. I chose to fix the wire, hoping it would resolve the current problem (technician indicated there was a good chance it would). The wire repair solved the problem. I also selected a maintenance agreement for about $155 since my A/C was old. This also gave 10% discount on the repair work. Great service all around--competent, courteous, and prompt.

The salesman (Terry) came out and gave me an estimate. He took pictures of the compressor and air handler area. Performance Air gave me the best estimate on the Trane system that I was interested in. Terry explains everything very thoroughly. He's great at returning phone calls. Jeannie in the office was also very helpful. I was so impressed with them that they got the job. Due to my schedule, they'll be back in a week to install. The quote was $6,899, but you can get it closer to $6,200 if you only get a 10 year compressor and air handler warranty with 5 years part and 1 year labor. I paid a little extra to get the 10 year full warranty. On top of that I will get a $250 credit from Progress Energy.

I got what I wanted and what I paid for. They were very honest. They offered me a service agreement, which I took. They were very polite and professional. They were very efficient.
