The technician came out the next day and had to order parts. The technician was very professional and explained my options to me in a way I could understand it. The parts came in a timely manner and the air was back up and running within a couple days. I was really pleased with the service.

I contacted Performance A/C to perform a "Tune-up" on my two A/C systems. The technician immediately upon arrival started a sales pitch for the Total Comfort program. We bought into the program expecting better than average service as promised in the brochure which included but limited to Service after 8 PM, Weekend service and Front of the line service. Fifteen days after the "Tune-up" my A/C failed. at around 12:30 PM I contacted Performance A/C. The person answering the phone told me he could not have a tech to see me until the next day. What happened to front of the line service, weekend service and service after 8 PM? After placing me on hold he said a tech would arrive between 2PM and 6PM. A few hours later he calls to inform me the tech is held up on another job and can he send someone the first thing in the morning. Not acceptable, what happened to front of the line and weekend service? These phone calls go back and forth a few more times. I finally ask to speak with the owner of the company. It has now been 2 days. They never sent anyone to repair my A/C nor have they contacted my. I spent money on a worthless service program they do not/cannot support.

Horrible I had a bad experience with performance air conditioning, electrical and plumbing. I was quoted 716.00 for repair, once completed I was charged 916.00 and was also told I didn't get everything I was quoted. Only after filing a bbb complaint they snuck onto my property and added the. Missing parts and their reply to my cc dispute was I had buyers remorse.

I’m extremely dissatisfied with this unreliable and unprofessional company. I spent $500 on a repair to my AC unit and 10 hours later I had no Air Conditioning. When I called distressed the answering service begrudgingly took my call and was extremely rude. The service technician showed up the following day and charged a $25.00 service charge after I’d spent $500 the day before for a 6 month diagnostic check. I’ve called multiple times to bring my dismay to their attention and can never reach Ben the service manager. Ben, has yet to return my call and this is going on nearly a week. Bad business and horrendous customer service. Save your time & money and choose another Air Conditioning company.

The install, from what I could tell, was fine. They sent out an inspector 6 months later to check the work. He didn't leave any paperwork. I joined the maintenance membership club fo $18/month, which includes servicing twice a year. The first maintenance visit went fine. Everything was working the way it should. A week ago or so, they finished the next 6 month maintenance. The so-called tech did nothing but try to scare me about my electrical hook up not being right and how it was going to burn out my 1 year old Trane if I didn't buy $800 more of parts and of course, add labor on that. This made me really mad, and very suspicious because this company did the same thing to me a few years ago with my old AC. The first check up of the year everything was perfect and the machine had a lot of life left. Six months later, another so-called tech did the check up and told me the heat pump was worn out and wouldn't last the summer. I'm convinced that all they do is up-sell through scare tactics, talking in circles by saying nothing, and hoping you won't get a second opinion. I'm going to cancel my membership and look for an honest company. By the way they are still advertising Angiest list top certification, probably kept it from JDK, which was an honest company!

One year and two months after Performance Air Conditioning, Electrical and Plumbing installed a new Trane A/C system in my home, the coil in the air handler failed. After two visits, the technician gave me a bill for $1688 (all labor, as the parts are still under warranty) to install the new coil. I was disappointed in that price, since the one year labor warranty was only two months expired, the system itself was only 14 months old, and I had a maintenance membership. Since this part was not available in the Tampa Bay area, we had to wait 5 days for the part to be shipped in. During the 5 days that we had no A/C, they loaned us a room air conditioner at no additional cost since the whole house A/C did not work at all. When the part arrived, the installation job took just less than 5 hours. I have not been able to get then to itemize the charges on this, or any other, bill they have provided. For the most part all the technicians I have encountered have been polite and capable. The office staff is elusive and the charges for any and all work they have completed for me have been exorbitant. I would not recommend this company for any A/C or Plumbing service.

I paid $390.00 to get my unit working. The tech told me the thermostat, that was new out of the box, was the problem. I replaced the 'bad' thermostat and they returned and again and told me my 2nd new thermostat was bad. I replaced the 2nd 'bad' thermostat, they returned again and told me my 3rd new thermostat was bad. I called again, was transferred to the service manager. He told me I was not following their instructions and that they would come out and install a new thermostat for $360.00. I then called another company. They came out and had my unit running, both cooling and heating, within an hour. My $50.00 new thermostat was indeed good. I called the service manager asking for a refund. He said he would give me a refund since they did not get the unit running. I am still waiting on that refund and they will no longer answer my calls. Caveat emptor.

Aaron came out and he was pushy, snarky and obviously couldn’t read the room because he kept making jokes about the situation that about had him thrown out of the house. After Aaron finishes service (for a whopping 400 dollars), the ceiling continued to drip. He told us that the ceiling was holding water and the drip would continue until it was all drained. Three days later, my ceiling collapsed and LOW AND BEHOLD, there was a pipe just under the drywall that was leaking. So Aaron not only misdiagnosed the situation and charged me for a bunch of extra service I didn’t need but also wasn’t professional during his service call. And I still had to call a plumber! I tried on many attempts to get ahold of the billing manager about the situation and my dissatisfaction but kept getting, “oh he’s on a call and will call you back.” I never got a call back from the billing manager. One month later, I got a call from a rep that wanted feedback about the service I received. I told him my concerns and he said that they take customer satisfaction very seriously and he would like to have a service manager call me back regarding my dissatisfaction with service. It’s been over a month since they called me and I have received zero contact from anyone. I can tell you take your customer satisfaction really seriously!!
Description of Work: We had water leaking from our ceiling in the living room and suspected it was the air conditioning. After suctioning the drain pipes ourselves with no such luck at slowing the drip in the ceiling, we decided to call a professional.

On May 16th Performance AC installed the WRONG air conditioner, and it was NOT compatible with the outside part that was installed. A 2 ton with a 2.5 ton condenser. They also left knowing the electrical work was not complete. Someone was to call me the next day. Five days went by and I called them. They were going to come by and fix it all. Before the scheduled date came, the new AC stopped working, and Angie’s List confirmed that the Angie’s List Super Service Award Certificate that Performance AC had given me a copy of to show they were credible, was actually a fraudulent document. They had not won that award since 2011. On June 2nd they did an uninstallation and provided my $7,227.00 money back. During the Uninstallation my plenum (duct work) was torn off the wall by Performance AC and left hanging, and the pipes outside that were supposed to be welded shut, were only taped shut. It needs to be welded because no moisture can get in the pipes. The new AC company had to restrap the plenum and flush out the pipes, unexpectedly causing additional labor hours and work, and also an additional $500.00 for the labor and repair, a reduced price to the $1,000 it was originally, due to the owners price cut since he knew of the issues I was having with Performance AC. It was also discovered that there was a hole in the drywall in the attic going to the air conditioning. When Performance AC installed the incorrect AC, their guy “fell” in the attic in that same spot. What was not communicated to me was that he created a hole through the drywall leading to the AC. My hallway wall also needed to be cut to reattach the plenum, so I get to have the drywall fixed their as well. I have asked Performance AC to pay for the $500 due to their negligence. They offered to give $250 towards the drywall work that is going to get done. The bill was not for the drywall though. I don’t have that bill yet, which I will be asking them to also pay. They have avoided acknowledging the $500 bill. BBB closed the case. Consumer Affairs is now involved. Anyone can leave a positive review. That says the work that was paid for was done. Negative reviews tell what you could unexpectedly be inviting into your home. Are these issues you wish to possibly deal with?

I had a new HVAC system installed three years ago by JDK Air, who have since been bought out by Performance Air Conditioning Electrical and Plumbing (PACEP). I scheduled a service appointment with PACEP on a Monday, and they were unable to give me a time for the appointment, rather, they would call half an hour in advance to let me know they were coming. I had several calls from 11am onwards, to say they were finishing up the previous job. Their technician eventually showed up at 4pm. On arrival, the technician spent 30 minutes doing his 'service' and finished by giving me a service report sheet with no actual data on it. I am used to getting some service data including pressures temps etc; all useful for trend monitoring. He reported the service was working fine, and then tried to sell me duct cleaning with a long explanation why this was necessary. He had not examined the ducts during his inspection. In his report, he also recommended a tune up and possible new replacement system!! I thanked the technician and he went on his way. Four hours later, the system was blowing air, but the temperature was no longer comfortable. I turned down the thermostat a couple of degrees, and when nothing changed, I grabbed a flashlight and went outside to check the system. To my surprise the master breaker for the condenser unit was sitting on top of the breaker box. I turned the system off, replaced the breaker, and it ran fine. During this call, I had asked for a minor repair to be made to some duct insulation next to the air handling unit. The technician declined to do this as it was beyond the scope of the call. I purchased some insulation and tape and went into the roof space to do the work myself. On gaining access to the roof, I found that the PACEP Technician on checking the system filter had not replaced the filter cover, so the system was sucking air out of the roof space. I have been trying to speak with the manager at PACEP, but without any success thus far.

Surprisingly someone answered the phone on Xmas day. Scheduled an appt the 26th. They arrived on time and determined the water heater had to be replaced. I called Performance after-hours when I came home to a puddle underneath my water heater (which happens to be in the attic). Clay came out within a couple hours to assess the situation, informed me that I needed a replacement, and scheduled service for the next day. The estimate at $1869 was pretty high, but I needed it done quickly and didn't have time to look for another provider. Kenny and Roy showed up the next day and began work. A third tech, Edward, was also there for an hour or so. The guys were nice and seemed knowledgeable, and the work was completed within a few hours. This is where the problem started: One of the guys accidentally stepped through the ceiling in my spare bedroom. No big deal, things happen, and I was assured that the "boss man" would be in touch to send "Mike" out to fix the damage. This was Wednesday. I heard nothing from "boss man", so on Monday morning I called the plumbing phone number on their website and left a message. No return call. I finally talked to someone at the main office number, and was told Mike would be in touch by the next day. I still hadn't heard anything by Wednesday, so I called again and left another message. A return call assured me that Mike would be in touch. I received a call from "Tony" and scheduled the repair for the next day (Thursday, over a week after damage occurred.) My husband was the one who was home when Tony repaired the damage. It looks just okay, and he left a mess of drywall putty/popcorn on the walls, on the smoke detector, in the carpet, on the doorknobs, on the fence and in the yard. If this guy "Tony" was a professional and took pride in his work, he would have thoroughly cleaned up after himself and followed up the next day to make sure the repair was to our satisfaction after everything dried. The replacement was fine, but the follow up was bad. It took over a week, three phone calls and two voicemails to get someone out to repair the damage to my home, and then the guy did a sloppy job. For the amount of money I paid them, you'd think they'd want a happy customer but clearly they just want to overcharge and then dodge you for a week. I will not be using this company again.

The techs finding per his paperwork read, " Upon completion of a full system evaluation, we discovered that the outdoor compressor has failed causing the system not being able to cool the home". Recommendation: " $3,235 to $3,832.54 to replace the compressor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I knew the unit was still under warranty, but the company Abear A/C was not able to come out that day and that is why I called Performace air instead. What makes me very mad is that when Abear came out the next day they found that it was only a clogged drain line that was causing the unit not to work and they got the unit up and running and it has been fine ever since. What mad disappointed is we were spending the weekend at the beach with friends and family, but because performance air could fix a simple drain line clog we had to go home that day and Performance Air charge me a $120 service charge and tried to get me to spend over 3k when not necessary. I felt wronged therefor I called Performance Air to ask that my service charge of $120 be refunded. They gave me the run around . Manager never got back to me and never refunded the service charge of $120. Don't use this company they will mislead you and could cost you thousands$$$ of unnecessary repairs.

I felt that in the end, they had sent out a salesman, rather than a service person. The only work actually done was that the inside coils were cleaned and the device on the roof was analyzed. The rest of the call involved the gentleman (a very nice man) trying to scare me into buying certain packages to repair the outside device (compressor?) and another package to “improve” the inside device. Either package, alone, would have cost me more than I paid for the original A/C unit. He told me the unit wouldn’t last much more than 8-12 years in its current state. The unit is already 8 years old. I told the gentleman that all the information he’d given me was overwhelming and that I needed to get another opinion. This I did and it cost me another $70 for a consultation, a more thorough cleaning of the coils, and the replacement of a small electrical contact on the roof! He did all the same testing that Performance A/C had done and said the entire unit was in relatively good condition. No expensive packages needed!
Description of Work: A yearly A/C check. They said they had bought JDK Air, which I used last year and was satisfied with. This provider said they would match JDK Air’s price, which they did. Nonetheless, I was not satisfied with their service work.

The 2 technicians arrived on time and worked straight through until the job was finished. I was happy that they hung the ducts from the rafters rather than put them on the floor over the joists. I hope this will keep them from being crushed by workers from other vendors. I gave the company a B overall because the work order was written incorrectly as a foul smell complaint, which was never indicted. I said my ducting needed to be replaced and that the back 2 rooms in my house are always hot. The estimator arrived and asked about the foul smell. Again, I said, "There is NO smell. The ducts are crushed and/or collapsing and there is no cool air in the back two rooms." When the technicians arrived, they asked where the foul smell was detected. Again. "There never was any smell. I don't know why this was not corrected in the work order."

They responded quickly (within 3 hours) for an evening call. They had recently purchased our old service provider and the old phone number directed me to them. The service tech diagnosed Freon leaks in coils and low Freon. Unit is 11 years old, one year outside warranty. He said we needed new coils (estimated $3000) or a new full unit, and recommended a new unit as better option. Readily gave us pricing on new units at $11,000-$13,000 (5 ton units) - they have printers in their vans for that purpose. When we said we wanted a second opinion before spending over $10,000, he seemed disappointed/annoyed and asked again if he could get us to sign up right then. This was after 11:00 at night. I asked if he could get it running temporarily. He said he could not add Freon to a leaky system by EPA rules, but he never suggested the option of repairing the leaks and then adding Freon. We got a second opinion. There were leaks, but the new person, who is a repair-focused business (not sales), was able to fix them with simple soldering. He said Freon was not very low (contrary to what Performance tech said). He also said a loose wire on blower probably caused the freeze-up - Performance Tech did not say anything about a loose wire on blower. New person also showed me in detail how he detected leaks, and in addition to electronic detector he also used special dye to pinpoint exact leaks. Performance tech never offered a repair option and did not do the dye test. (Cost listed below is for diagnostic work.) Bottom line: In my opinion Performance wanted to sell me a new unit. Once they detected leaks, they moved immediately to trying to sell a new A/C. Never offered to repair, never performed a dye test to pinpoint leaks, and missed a loose wiring problem on blower. They may be a good company for purchasing and servicing a new unit, but I do not recommend them for a repair.

This is a great company!! When my previous Electrical Co. stood me up, I found Performance AC online and called. They were able to schedule an appointment within 48 hours. James, the technician, was on time, polite, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. He was able to diagnose and complete the project on the same visit. Completed the job in a little over an hour, while other companies I've used would have taken a lot longer. They aren't the cheapest company, but I've learned that you get what you pay for, This is be the only company I will use going forward. Fast service, extremely competent staff, honest and reliable. Also, their office staff is super. Helpful and very pleasant to interact with. Bravo!!!

DO NOT use the services of Performance Air in Largo. We had an issue and scheduled a technician to come out and assess the situation. We agreed to the $125 assessment fee. After quoting us an extremely high price for the repair and trying to up sell other services, we paid the visit fee and said we would be seeking a second opinion. Within the hour of him leaving our home, we realized the air was no longer blowing at all ( it was blowing fine before the visit). We called today to ask what could have happened and was told they would come back out. After telling us that now the motor was blown, tried to charge us another $125. This was not mentioned when we called so we refused to pay again - especially since this part mysteriously broke as soon as the technician "looked at it".
Description of Work: We had a problem with the air conditioning pan filling with water and sensor was broken. We knew there may be other problems and was looking for an estimate for repair.
