Description of Work: My laptop totally unresponsive. it was not the hard drive or the fan. Had to do with circuit board and required welding. Since my laptop is over 5 years old this fix gives me time to move things to new laptop. It did take almost a week to get back. If I were still working that would have been a problem. Not having to recreate my laptop from Carbonite (would take forever) made me VERY happy.

Description of Work: The screen in my 3 year old HP laptop suddenly was black.. I could hear sound, but nothing on screen. I took it in and it turns out the screen broke one of the times I dropped it. One week later, and everything was working perfectly. Nice shop - great service.

 + -1 moreMy laptop had been running slowly for some time, and often froze. PLUS, it recently crashed and I lost desktop icons and all email files. I had purchsed this laptop some years ago on ebay and it didn't have a registered version of Windoze, so I couldn't get updates to Windoze (intentional spelling--I'm really a Mac person). :) !! Anyway, I took it into Notebooks Plus, which I had used successfully once in the past, and they completely fixed everything, including retrieving my email files and folders and adding all Windoze updates, including Security Pack 3 and MS Security Essentials. The cherry on top was this: The day after I brought it home, I clicked on a Google image and wound up with a virus threat. Oops! I immediately called and was advised to just shut everything down and bring it in. I did so, and Pete went through the computer, pronouncing it clean--apparently the bug hadn't had a chance to install. Yea! No charge for this follow-up! BTW, they work on BOTH PCs AND MACS!!! Really expert, friendly, and patient service. They appear to have seen it all. Very fair price.
