Description of Work: Called Mr. Sparky to cover exposed wire in a closet. Technicians told my wife that they needed to do a safety inspection. They never showed her the box at the bottom of the form where she could decline the inspection. They provided her with three lump sum quotes for work to be done without showing her the line item costs. My wife agreed to quote #2 which was $1276. This included 3 gfci outlets, a plastic cover for one of them, 2 smoke detectors, covering some wires on the water heater and the closet wire. Afterward an itemized invoice was provided for $1275. When I complained about the way she was up sold I was told that they "have" to do the safety inspection and that my wife was shown their price list and that they provide a warranty that. On top of that they left their ladder at my house. Although the quality of work is fine I think they used questionable tactics to get more money. I complained to state and local agencies and was told that there was nothing that could be done. I will pursue this through my elected representatives to find out what sort of regulation can be instituted to change this but until then beware of Mr Sparky. I They will up sell if they can. Always ask for itemized quotes and be sure to read all the paperwork thoroughly.

It is our responsibility as a licensed & insured company to do a whole home safety evaluation and inform you if you have any life saving safety devices that need to be replaced or installed.
