1/10/2020 I went to Granite City, Largo, three times trying to find a quartz remnant to be a counter top for a new 60 inch vanity in my master bathroom that I was having renovated. I didn't have a good feeling about Granite City from the beginning because their selection was so limited. I couldn't find anything that fit my taste. But my contractor kept urging me to go back there since he said he said he uses them frequently and their prices are better than Stoneworks. He told me I could save $500 by going with Granite City. So I kept going back every 2 weeks to check their inventory. Still nothing was there that I would pay money for. Finally on my 3rd trip I found the piece I wanted. I was so excited and I paid the money to Mitchell, the salesman. The installers came to install it today. It was a rush job, since they were supposed to be here at 9:00 a.m. and they arrived at almost 11:00. I had previously explained that I had an appointment and had to leave. I had already rescheduled this to the next day, but apparently the office doesn't communicate with their installers in the field. I told the installer I had to leave, but he insisted that it would only take 5 minutes to install. So I let them in. I immediately noticed that the counter top they brought in was NOT the one I had chosen. It is totally bland and does not have the marble-like markings that the one I had selected (and paid for) had. I immediately called Granite City about it, but Mitchell insisted that I was wrong and that what they were installing was what I had chosen. So after my appointment today, I drove back to Granite City and spoke directly in person to Mitchell. He continued to insist that what they installed was what I had chosen. IT WAS NOT!!! But he refused to do anything to make it right. I was so angry I had to walk away. I'm now stuck with a counter top that I hate. My only recourse was to write this review so that future potential buyers can beware of Granite City.

Our kitchen counters look great. We have a large kitchen with tons of counter space. The counters were very dated and needed granite. Granite City was best on price and granite options. They came out quickly to template the counters. We did have a problem with getting on the schedule to install. It seemed our order did not make it to scheduling. But no worries, we got it straighten out and install was done before Thanksgiving. The install crew were hard working. Our counters were tightly glued down, which made it harder for them to remove. Our center island is huge and we wanted one hole piece and not cut. They did great and it was all one piece installed. They worked until 10pm to ensure the counters were done without having our kitchen in a mess until the next day. Thank you.

We have used Granite City in the past for our kitchen. Our hall bathroom had a dated counter top. We picked out granite, template was within 2 days and granite installed the next week. The workers were in and out and we have a beautiful new counter. Thank you for the fast service.

We recently had our kitchen redone. We had new cabinets put in and counter tops put in. The first review that I would give is for Granite City and they did a superb job. They changed out the counter tops for the whole kitchen, they put in the backsplashes, they mounted our new sink and mounted the new faucet. So, once Granite City removed the old counter top they put everything back into place and so I guess that includes the sink and the faucet and the backsplash. It turned out very good, very very happy. Granite City did an excellent job, the technician that came out that measured for the granite how to cut it and all that, did a superb job, everything turned out so good that it fit nicely in place. He made some recommendations that we hadn't thought of on the counter tops to make it more family friendly as well as more efficient use of the counter space. So, it wasn't just where he comes in, takes the measurement and leave, he made suggestions which makes the end product a lot more use-able. They followed up on any questions we had, they gave us ideas on products and the maintenance of the counter tops. Overall we just had a very, very nice experience with Granite City.

I decided to remodel my kitchen and two baths in September. I had chosen one of the three proposals from my cabinet estimates, made a sizeable down payment, and the job was supposed to begin mid-October. It was essential that the work be complete during a specific, but generous time frame. From the onset, the cabinet provider was beyond unsatisfactory. So, I had the inclusion of the granite removed from that contract and decided to deal with Granite City myself. They had, in fact, been recommended by all three kitchen and bath companies. I met Carol Hoffman there and immediately knew I had made the right choice. It is truly rare to find a company that is willing, and in my case, went out of their way to help turn a nightmare into a dream. I will be forever grateful to Carol for taking customer service to a whole new level and to the owner, Sam Gonzalez, for breaking all the rules to squeeze my measuring job in well after normal hours. My thanks to Jesse and the others for completing my install despite the cabinetry work lagging so far behind. Granite City surpassed my expectations as far as the beauty of the granite but I also can never thank them enough for helping me maintain my sanity as well. If you are looking for professionals who truly take pride in their work, consider your satisfaction as top priority, and have great prices, look no further than Granite City! They are fantastic!
Description of Work: Granite City provided new countertops, backsplash, sink, and even a window sill in my kitchen. Additionally, they provided the countertops, sinks and backsplash in two bathrooms. Each step is usually performed in conjunction with the cabinetry schedule. However, the cabinet place ignored scheduling commitments and provided inaccurate measurements. Still, the entire staff at Granite City managed to work around these obstacles. Carol Hoffman tirelessly downloaded pictures I emailed of my home so that everything would be perfect. She assisted me in every choice from granite choices, and sink choices to actual faucets. On each of my many visits to Granite City, Carol always took the time to make me feel that my choices were as important as those she would make for her own home. Most importantly she realized that my highest priority was to complete this project in the allotted time frame. I live with my 88 year old mother who had gone to visit my sister in Atlanta so I could accomplish this between mid September and mid October. Due to the total disregard of the cabinet place for this, Granite City had to go 'over and above' to compensate. They did just that and I will be forever grateful to the professional and caring 'family' that is Granite City.

After I picked out my granite and my cabinets were in they come to your house to template your counter tops. They recommended the way the granite should be cut on the corners of the island and each corner was different and they were right it is nice. They invited me to see the template so I could pick out where I wanted the island and the counter top to be cut out of the granite. they hold the template up to the granite and I wanted the top half of the granite to be the island because there is a beautiful flow running through it. They said ok. that will be the island. If your company does not encourage you to chose and to be there when they put the template on your granite go with another company. I have a large sink that had specific measurements and they did a great job of setting it.There price was great and the best person I ran into out of all of the sales persons I spoke to was Sam..thank you Sam ... there granite was really beautiful and the price was great trust me I shopped for my granite. Thank you Granit City Sandra

I recommend double checking EVERY piece of paper you get from this company. Carefully read all of the print. I cannot remark on their work because I will not give them my business. Granite City has my $534 for providing absolutely no service of any kind and has yet to return the rest of my deposit. I knew I should have trusted my instincts. It was an expensive lesson for me to learn. I hope you learn from my experience.
Description of Work: They didn't have anything matching my needs so they sent me to International Stone Quarries on 49th St. I found a piece of granite that might work. Approx 2 weeks later I week I went back to Granite City to complete the order. I was getting approx 36 sq ft of granite for the kitchen. I also needed about 17 sq. ft of granite for my bathroom and asked "ballpark" about how much it would be and even if they may have a remnant. They said it would be about another $1000 for the bathroom vanity. I thought the $2670 seemed very high for the kitchen but I went ahead and paid 1/2 down on 3/22/2011. They gave me what I thought was a receipt for my check and I left. Still stewing over the high price of Granite, City, I browsed the web and Angie's list for other providers and ratings/prices just to see what was out there. On 3/28, I found an interesting provider and proceeded to visit their showroom after work. This company offered to do my entire job: kitchen and bathroom, as well as provide me with both sinks for the bathroom (I already had the sink for the kitchen), ALL for $2500! I called Granite City to cancel my order and requested a refund. I was told my check would be refunded, less a 20% re-stocking fee. I was stunned. I had not noticed the “receipt” I signed stated I would be charged this high of a re-stocking fee so I acknowledge part of this is my fault. However, the granite was not moved from their inventory. The ONLY thing they had done was cash my check. I can understand 3% to 5% but 20% is outrageous. After I told them I would never do business with a company who gets money from people this way, they called back twice to try and see if there was some other way they could keep my business. My contractors were in my kitchen preparing for my new cabinets while “Sam” from Granite City was calling me and trying to change my mind. After I hung up, I asked the contractor if I was being unreasonable and they all said, “NO”. Then they asked me the name of the company and were not surprise when I said, “Granite City”. My general contractor was familiar with the owner (Sam)
