Gibson & Sons Roofing Inc

I hired Gibson and Sons in 2009 to replace tile roof. They completed job within a few weeks and provided regular updates via pictures of job progress. (Vacation home, and I wasn't there) Now for the bad part. In mid November of 2021, a tree fell on roof causing broken tiles and a 9" hole in plywood. I called them immediately to request a quote and a temporary patch. It took over 2 weeks for them to come out and tempoaraily patch roof. Luckily, no rain before they came out. A couple days later, they provided a quote to repair roof. Another problem is that shortly before all this occured, another contractor (not roof) asked me if I was aware that whoever installed my roof originally had forgotten to install a valley on one side of garage roof. I did ask Gibson about this and they said that was basically not possible, but they would check it out. It is now almost January, and roof has not been repaired. I have left numerous emails, phone calls, text messages, and messages via their website, but have heard nothing back as to when work woul;d be scheduled. I have seen other reviews that this company is unresponsive, but I would just like at least a message as to when my roof can be repaired.

Overall it went fairly well. It took longer than the timeline I was given due to a supplier issue with my gray aluminum dripedge. The color and style of the shingle was very nice and the ridge vent shingle over style that was suggested was definitely the way to go. Also, the waterproof underlayment was a great choice as it rained the evening I was without shingles and there were no leaks. I caution clients with chimneys that if a cricket is suggested that you get specific details as to what will be installed. I was somewhat surprised and disappointed with the outcome as it appeared more like flashing and bitumen applications and the metal flashing that was used kind of has a negative curb appeal effect. I plan on painting it after the rainy season. Also, I found quite a bit of nails on the roof and in the yard the evening they finished the shingle application. I was informed that they were coming back in the morning to do a more thorough overall sweep, however that left open an opportunity for injury. If you have aluminum soffit and fascia, be sure to have the roofing company do a walk through with you and document any existing issues so that if they damage any of it you can bring it to their attention. I had a small scratch on my fascia and a couple of loose soffit panels after they did my roof and had my soffit and fascia not been in need of replacement anyway, I would of had them repair the minor damage. They did fix the loose soffit panels. Overall, they were professional and addressed my concerns and issues. I would probably contact them again for roofing work, however I would handle things differently with more supervision; requesting in detail what the job entails and what it will look like after completion. Currently, I am still waiting for my warranty paperwork from the product manufacturers which the roofing company said they would take care of for me.

I hired the Gibsons to replace my roof in January.Ive never had such a pleasant experience with a contractors.It was refreshing to see all clean cut (English speaking)workers who were polite and thorough.

They are very thorough and very detail oriented. They were a little pricey but they did quality work. They were very responsive, and they were here when they said they would be.

The project consisted of three layers of under raiment before they even put the tile on. Everybody else that quoted this job was only going to do two layers of under raiment. They were very thorough and fulfilled everything in the contract without question. Then, when we experienced some after installation difficulties, not as the result of any work they did, they helped out in correcting those as well. The only issue that we had with them was sometime getting the answer back on a question about when they were going to continue the work. I will use them again in the future.

He did a really good job. His price was fair. I found it frustrating that he is not good at returning phone calls. I waited weeks for him to call back. The communication was poor, but the job was well done.

They did a good job, and I didn't have any problems with it.
