+ -1 moreThe original estimate (last November) was considerably less that the final. We had a one year rental lease up in June so when the statement of work came back in February with an increase of 25% in cost due to "FEMA" we were stuck. We had also been told that all the fittings had to be purchased before work could begin. The granite we selected was co-ordinated with all the bathroom fittings-unfortunately what we chose was three times the allowance so we had to go back and of course none of the original choices matched. The one "selling point" was a fixed end date-not only did we not get one, they missed every date they gave us-so we moved in without the bathroom. The project manager turns out to have been on commission! He quit half way through. #1 lesson - NEVER find a contractor at a home show. The work, when completed, was actually quite good, but I am convinced it was more expensive than it should have been.
Description of Work: We added a second story balcony and window, remodeled a sunroom, and built a master bathroom.

+ -1 moreTHIS COMPANY IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. THEY CLAIM TO BE THE "EXPERTS" IN REMODELING, THIS IS NOT TRUE. THE MAJORITY OF THE WORK DONE IS CRAP. THEY CONSTANTLY LEAVE MY FRONT DOOR UNLOCKED, WITH THE KEY HANGING IN IT, FOR ANYONE TO WALK IN. I HAVE COME HOME NUMEROUS TIMES TO FIND MY FRONT DOOR WIDE OPEN, AND NO ONE THERE. I HAVE COMPLAINED OVER AND OVER AGAIN ABOUT THEIR TOTAL LACK OF CONCERN FOR MY PROPERTY. THEY APOLOGIZE, BUT NOTHING CHANGES. THEY HAVE SLOPPED CONCRETE ON MY POOL DECK, CUT TILE ON MY DECK AND LEFT THE MESS FOR ME TO CLEAN UP, AND THROWN CIGARETTE BUTTS ON MY DECK. THEY HAVE RUN OVER AND BROKE SPRINKLER HEADS, PARKED ON MY LAWN WITH THEIR BIG TRUCKS. I HAVE A DUMPSTER THAT HAS BEEN ON MY PROPERTY FOR 10 WEEKS (KILLED THE GRASS). THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT THEY ONLY HIRE PROFESSIONALS, BUT I HAVE YET TO SEE ONE AT MY JOB SITE. TO BE QUITE HONEST, I DON'T HAVE ANY CONFIDENCE THAT MY JOB WILL EVER BE COMPLETED, UNLESS I FILE A LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM.
Description of Work: COMPLETE BATHROOM REMODEL. THE ROOM WAS TAKEN DOWN TO STUDS, SLAB WAS REMOVED, PLUMBING WAS REDONE, NEW DRYWALL, TOILET, SHOWER STALL, POPCORN CEILING WAS REMOVED IN MASTER BEDROOM & CLOSET, AND KNOCKDOWN FINISH WAS APPLIED. FLOOR IN ENTIRE MASTER SUITE WAS TILED. I WAS QUOTED 3 FULL WEEKS FOR COMPLETION. THE JOB WAS STARTED ON 7/31/06, AS OF 10/9/06 (10 WEEKS), THE JOB IS STILL NOT DONE. THEY HAVE RECEIVED ALL THE MONEY, EXCEPT LAST PAYMENT OF $450. DAYS GO BY AND NO ONE EVEN SHOWS UP TO WORK ON MY JOB. THEY CONSTANTLY LIE TO ME BY GIVING ME NEW COMPLETION DATES THAT DON'T MEAN ANYTHING. THE WALLS WERE UP IN THE SHOWER AND THE FLOOR WAS TILED. THE JOB WAS SO TERRIBLE, THAT THEY AGREED TO REMOVE IT AND START OVER. THE CEILING FINISH IS ALSO NOT ACCEPTABLE AND THEY HAVE AGREED TO TOUCH IT UP AND RE-PAINT. THE TILE ON THE SHOWER FLOOR IS ABOUT THE WORST TILE JOB I'VE SEEN, THEY HAVE AGREED TO REMOVE IT AND RETILE. THE LIST GOES ON AND ON, IT'S A DISASTER.

+ -1 moreI REMODELED THE MASTER BATH. OVERALL, I WAS DELIGHTED, EVEN THOUGH EVERYTHING WASN'T PERFECT. THEY TOOK MY VISION AND MADE IT WORK.
Description of Work: AN AWKARD BATHTUB WAS REMOVED, ALONG WITH CHEAP CABINETRY AND A SECOND SINK. A SHOWER WAS BUILT AND NEW CABINETS WERE INSTALLED. THEY ALSO DID ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, DRYWALL, PAINTING, AND TILE WORK. THE DOOR WAS MOVED 18 FEET, AND A POCKET DOOR INSTEAD OF A HINGED DOOR WAS INSTALLED.
